This is a chapter that shows what happened after Kid kissed Y/N :).

"How does it feel to be back boss? At your old hometown where everything started?" Wire was with Kid and they were walking around the town. Not much had changed. A new movie theater had been brought in, and an arcade for kids, teens and adults.

Other than that everything was still the same. 7 years had passed. His last memories here were bittersweet. Sweet because the day he and Killer had been taken in by old man Ice Burg had been one of the best days of his life. Bitter because he'd said some hurtful things to a little girl who had only been trying to make him feel better. But his 12 year old boy pride took it the wrong way and they never spoke again after that. He'll never forget making her cry. And wishing he could take it all back.

He'd come back a year before and never told Killer he'd come back to say sorry to Y/N, to make amends and possibly see about being friends again. He'll never forget what he saw.

He'd gotten a hotel room and had walked to her old house. When he'd gotten there he was taken aback by what he saw. The house looked spiffed up due to renovations if he had to guess. The shed her uncle used to store tools had been changed to a motor boat mechanic shop. And then there was something that had never been there before. A cafe.

He walked around to check it out. He came to the dock where you had let him and Killer into your life. He remembered a little girl sad and lonely despite having a home and family. He saw a bunch of kids swimming and hanging out. He looked a little further and in the water he saw you. He sucked in a breath and felt his heart rate quicken.

When you came out of the water he'd realized just how much time had passed. You'd grown into a beautiful young woman. You had curves and your hair wet clung to the middle of your back. He noticed a few of the guys staring at you, and you weren't paying any attention. Your smile was still the same, your laugh while more airy and grown up had remained the same.

He got closer.

"So Y/N, you ever think those two boys you used to hang out with will ever come back?" A girl with orange hair had asked. Kid knew she was talking about him and Killer and he was curious as to what you would say.

"I don't know Nami, I looked them up a few times but I could never find them. I guess they moved away pretty far. I would like it if they did though."

"Why were you in love with them or something?" Kid recognized Portgas. The guy looked the same and he was still annoying as hell.

"I was 9 so no I wasn't in love with them. I just like having them around. It wasn't as lonely with them here. For the first year I don't think there wasn't i night were I didn't cry myself to sleep cause I kissed them so much."

Kid instantly felt like shit.

"You has us though!" A smaller ravenette squealed.

"I know but you couldn't always be with me, and I think they lived in a group home for you g foster kids. And they tended to come home with me every night. It was nice feeling like I had someone to be with me all time. It was nice. And when they left and I would come home, I felt so lonely for so long."

Now Kid felt even worse. He let his anger control his actions and he never tried to reach out to her, not a letter or a phone call. He was sure that if she'd found them she would've at least tried to call them.

"Anyway it's been so long they've probably forgotten all about me. I'm gonna go get some more snakes and drinks I'll be right back."

Kid watched as she walked to the back of the restaurant. And then he saw a guy about his age get up and follow her. He walked towards them trying to figure out how to approach Y/N. What he saw was the green haired guy pulling her into a hug say something to her. She pulled away and her face was red. She made a move to walk away but he yanked her back and this time he slammed his lips onto hers.

Kid walked away after that. Not interested in watching his old crush make out with some guy. He was unsure why it bothered him so much. He wasn't a saint. He had been with girls since he'd moved away, but the idea of Y/N doing the same didn't sit well with him.

He left the next day. Without seeing her and going back to his daily life.

Who would've thought a year later he'd be back to open the race track and start their racing team here.

"Hey I'm hungry where can we go to get something to eat?" Killer's girlfriend Bonney chirped from his motorcycle. Then Kid remembered something.

" I know where we can go. Follow me." He rode in the direction of your place. Hoping you'd be there. And as luck would have it you were.

He was a real asshole, he knew this about himself he just never knew how much of one he was until thiat night. Had he really just forced a kiss on Y/N? Yes he did. Did he feel guilty about it? Not really. It'd been a month since then. Luckily they'd been busy at the shop and new race track to really think about Y/N. Until Killer brought it up.

"I'm gonna go visit Y/N tomorrow you wanna come with?" Kid just shook his head and continued to work on his motorcycle. "Why not I'm sure she'd like to see us both."

"Not a good idea for me to go."

"What stupid thing did you do this time?" Kid stopped his activity on his bike and looked at Killer.

"I went to see her after we left the cafe the first time. I said I was sorry about what I'd said to her as a kid. She forgave me."

"Okay so far so good."

"Then her boyfriend called her. He was going to come over and I knew she was going to ask me to leave. And I don't know what I was thinking but I Uh-sort of forced a kiss on her. And she slapped me."

Kid could feel Killer's anger. The next thing Kid knew he's gotten a fist to his cheek and he was on the floor.

"That's what she should've done. Dammit Kid why would you do that to her? She was so happy to see us."

"I got jealous okay and I didn't know how to express it to her without it making me sound like a love sick puppy."

"Except that's exactly what you are. You still have a crush on her Kid. And she has a boyfriend. And for what it looks like he treats her well."

"I already know that okay?"

"You're coming with me to the cafe if nothing but to say you're sorry."

30 minutes later here they were and Kid felt like his skin was becoming too tight to wear. Walking in they didn't see Y/N. But the woman who owned the cafe saw them and ushered them forward.

"Hi boys. How're you?"

"Uh hi Ms. Shaky we were wondering if Y/N was around?"

"Awe you two are so cute. Y/N told me about you two when I first met her 3 years ago. I cried like a baby! She's really missed you two."

Both men blushed and Kid felt a whole new sense of shame.

"She's out for the weekend but I can give you her number. I'm sure she'd like that." The woman smiled and they left.

Kid sent a text about an hour later but didn't get a reply until closer to midnight. She'd included Killer in a group text.

Riding to the cafe he felt his stomach sink. Killer had told him to behave. Kid was honestly scared that she'd just invited them over just to chew him out and get her venting out.

When he got there and she welcomed them with food and coffee he relaxed. Once they started talking he realized how much he'd missed hanging out with her.

When he'd boyfriend came in he was honestly shocked to hear that he'd cheated on her, and with a close friend to them both. Kid really wanted to lay this guy out but he settled for hugging Y/N tightly to his chest.

After Killer had left and they'd gotten off the Ferris wheel he and Y/N went to the tattoo parlor just outside the amusement park.

"You sure you want to get another tattoo so soon after you got your wolf tattoo?" She looked at her thigh and giggled. It was a photo realistic black and grey wolf. Kid had to admit it looked really cool.

"I want something cheerful but also something I like. So I am going to get a watercolor sea turtle to go on my wrist it won't be big, but big enough that it's noticeable."

"Why a sea turtle?"

"They're my second favorite sea animal."

"What's your first a dolphin?"

"Close a Orca."

"How is a Orca close to a dolphin? Isn't it a whale?"

"Nope it's a dolphin." Kid went wide eyed.

"Are you kidding me I went my whole life thinking they were whales!" She giggled.

"You and many other people." They had to wait since they were walk ins. But Y/N didn't seem to mind. At one point she'd drifted off a little and leaned on him.

"Mmm Kid you smell nice. Do you wear cologne?"

"Sometimes but you're probably smelling my workplace more than anything."

"I like it, you had a similar smell when we were younger. Makes me smile."

Kid willed his face to stay it's pale color, so the blush wouldn't show through.

"Okay Y/N? I finished the drawing whaddya think."

She gave the approval and he went with her while she got her wrist done. She never winced in pain or complained. When they left he'd dropped her off and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He really wanted to kiss her mouth but figured since she'd just broken up with her boyfriend that wasn't the best option.

Soon, he thought. Soon he'd ask her out to be his girl. His feelings he had 7 years ago didn't go away of anything he'd just tried to forget about her and never did.
