Uncle Liu
Jeff had thought about it for a long while and he was certain that now was a good time to tell the kid about his brother. Just as soon as he was done making up for what happened with Krystal.
He walked back down to the kitchen, it was sort of late now. The girl was making dinner and then spotted him. On instinct, she froze.
"I come in peace. No alc this time, promise."
The man raised his arms to show that he had nothing on him and the girl nodded slowly. Jeff walked over to her and looked at her face, she'd been crying recently.
"What I did, was stupid. I know. I had alcohol in me and I couldn't control myself. I just lost it with all the fighting and the booze..but I never and I mean never...meant to do what I had done to you. Did I go any farther than that, you have to tell me!"
Jeff begged and the girl shook her head in a no manner.
"You only done that..."
She said as she put down the spoon she was using to mix the soup and looked at him.
"Jeff, you have anger issues."
The girl stated as she sat down at the table and left the food to boil, Jeff joined her and never looked her in the eye as she spoke.
"You can't just keep raising your voice above mines and expect me to as you call it "obey" you. I am not a dog. As much as you refer to me as one, I'm not. I was your friend at a point and now I'm pretending to be married to you. This is all for the sake of that boy up there. He needs normality."
Krystal said and Jeff just raised his head.
"This is his life, Krystal. It won't be normal and it won't get normal. He lives with a killer, do you expect me to be able to send him out and do things that kids would, if they trade him to me, then that it he's gone. I can't lose trace of.. Of..."
Jeff trailed off. The thing that the doctor said had returned to him.
'You never wanted a child, did you ? You just wanted something to replace the hole they your brother left.'
It made him frown and clutch his heart. It wasn't true..He did care for the child in small ways. It wasn't just for that other reason...
"Jeff?"
The girls voice snapped him out of it and he looked at her.
"I think it's time, Jerry learned about his uncle, isn't it?"
Jeff was not overly happy to speak about it, but he knew that he had to talk about Liu eventually. Standing with the girl , they headed to the boys room.
"Remember. Father and son talk, try and be human."
The girl smiled and walked back to the kitchen.
'Easy for you to say...you're good at his shit...'
