THE BANKS FAMILY was a well respected and fairly distinguished family in the social hierarchy that was California. Generations of socialites and wealthy men dominated their bloodline. And the eighties? The eighties were supposed to be their prime.

The heir, Oscar Banks, was nothing less than a respected man. He was a coach for USA's Olympic Team, and his brewery was the top sponsor. Oscar felt he had it all: The fame, the money, and what he thought was most important, the family.

First, was Beverly Banks; The walking-talking definition of a trophy wife. She had tried multiple times to start her own business, — to make something of herself — But every time a new one opened, the last one would only fail. Beverly eventually gave up to do what she does best. Sit still, and look pretty.

Then there was Sarah, eldest daughter of Oscar and Beverly. Beautiful, sweet, and most importantly, compliant. She ran a successful record label since the minute she turned twenty. Sarah was the golden girl of the Banks family, the one to live up to.

Which was no secret to Thomas, the middle child. More known as Tommy, he secured his spot on the Olympic Team as soon as he could, making his father extremely proud. However, the standards never lowered, and that didn't stop him from working hard to achieve everything.

His and Sarah's accomplishments combined didn't leave much wiggle room for failure. And it sure didn't make life easy for little Olivia Banks, the youngest.

Commonly known as Oli, the girl had always felt like the odd one out. Maybe it was because she wasn't a product of Beverly — but rather a family scandal between her father and the cook. Maybe it was just because she like to rebel. Regardless, Oli was never Daddy's little princess like Oscar always dreamed she'd be.

So like every other white, privileged, and rich family, The Banks had their secrets, but they also valued their reputation. Proud as Oscar was, he'd be damned if Oli ruined even an ounce of what they had. She hated it, protested it, always paid the price for it.
