"This is nonsense..." groaned a soft German accented voice as a woman who looked to be in her early 20s. She had short soft blonde hair, dark sky blue eyes, lightly tanned skin, and she wore a white tank top with princess seams, a pair of blue jeans. "Three murders on campus. The second victim was in the other room in my suite, campus is in freaking lockdown and classes are suspended indefinitely. I didn't really know the first victim, though. He was a sophomore apparently. Had a lot of friends." She began pacing around in her room.

"Half of the school attended his vigil too. I wasn't close to my suite mate either. She was quiet, made a decent roommate. But, we talked maybe once?.. She was murdered just off campus, so the cops didn't spend too much time in my room. While the third.. she got killed while sneaking out. No one was supposed to leave their dorm buildings, either! But, apparently this party off campus was so important than her own life! And so, she had her throat slit a block from campus. Unfortunately, people still sneak out every night. Most of them end up fine. I guess girl no.3 was just unlucky. Meanwhile..."

She then heard her stomach growl.

"I'm running low on food. I could use a meal and a soda. It can't be too dangerous to go to the convenience store..." the blonde complemented her choices until she sighed. "Oh, what's the harm? I really need some food." Grabbing her coat, she quickly put it on and left her dorm room, heading to the sidewalk, taking note of how quiet it was. "It's completely empty out here... super spooky, but really cool. The convenience store is only a block away, nothing to worry about." She told herself, fingering the blade she kept on her in case of something happening to her.

"What a strange man... I'd best stay clear of him." She whispered underneath her breath upon arriving to her destination. Scanning the shelves of snacks, she shook her head. "I already have snacks in my dorm. I shouldn't need much." Picking up a container of hot honey boneless wings and a bottle of sweet melon soda, she smiled at her find. "This will be fine for now." As she got to the checkout line, she looked behind her and frowned. "The strange man is in line behind me. I really do hope he's not the murderer.."

After she paid for her food, she proceeded to walk away and bumped into the man. "Oh goodness! I am so sorry! You startled me!" The man was silent before he spoke. "I was just waiting in line..." the woman nodded and left the store. "What a night... I wanna eat these wings, watch some TV and fall asleep afterwards." She then noticed a familiar face as she softly sighed. "Harris is here. I best leave him alone since he seems to be busy..."

"Adeline? You shouldn't be out!"

"I'm sorry... I needed some food..."

"You do know you could've just called me to escort you. I better not catch you doing this again, Your other mom/dad will kill me the minute she/he finds out something happened to you."

Harris became quiet before he spoke again.

"I'd never forgive myself."

"Okay. Again, I'm sorry.. you really don't have to go all cop mode on me, Harris.. I'm just heading back to my room right now."

"I can't let you go alone. I'll walk you there."

The two of them walked to Adeline's dormitory and into her suite's room. "Okay, you call me if you need anything. I'll be at the station, see ya."

"Um.. Harris? There was this man at the convenience store... He didn't do anything to me, but... something about him scared me. His skin was VERY white. Like a ghostly white."

"Ghostly white??"

The cop became quiet once more before he spoke again, his eyes hardened.

"Adeline, I don't wanna alarm you... but one of the details we have about the killer is that he is white just like a ghost. I'm not even supposed to share that information."

Adeline's face grew shocked as she grabbed her bottle of soda and took a few gulps from it to steady her nerves.

"Can you tell me anything else about him?"

"He was wearing a white hoodie. His eyes were really intense, like he had no eyelids. He also looked like he had scars on his face. It was very hard to tell since his hood was up the whole time."

Harris stared at her, processing the description she had just given him.

"This isn't good. He might've followed you. I'll have to stay here tonight and I know your roommate was one of the victims. I'll stay in her old room."

Adeline sighed playfully and smiled.

"I don't have a choice in this?"

"No way. Go to bed, Ada. I'm going to call in your description to my buddies. They'll go looking for him. Night, Adeline, be good."

He then went into the next room which was her old roommate's bedroom. As she curled up into the covers of her bed, she looked up at the ceiling. "For a man with no kids, he is such a dad..." she whispered underneath her breath as she pulled up the blankets to her chin.

Waves of tiredness washed over her as she felt her eyes growing heavy, going over dark sky blue orbs. Memories washed over her like a hurricane, more specifically, memories of a boy with hair of light brown and eyes of light blue along with her younger self when she was a child. He was her childhood friend and she was his. Tears began running down her lightly tanned face as a bright fire could be seen in her vision.. then.. everything went black for the german woman.

She just wished she could see her friend again just once more.. that was all she ever wanted.
