Soulmate

The body gave a deep thud on the floor. I sighed a sigh of exhaustion. I have been on the run for 3 years now, and I still haven't found him.
"Curtis, come here."
"Yes, boss?"
"Hide the body. We're gonna need to move on quickly from this one. The palace guards are close by."
"Yes boss."
Curtis motioned for the other two men to help him carry the body out back. The city news is full of people finding their soulmate. They have big weddings and children and have this happy life. But I can't find mine. I've killed hundreds, but none were meant to be mine. It's like I'm missing g something inside me. I can't go in until I fill it. Here, in Plymouth, you can't kill your soul mate. All my friends left me for their soulmates years ago. So, if I keep killing people, I can find the right one sooner. I won't be an embarrassment any longer.
"The body is hidden, boss."
"Thanks Curtis. Let's go. We can head to Winchester next."
I started toward the door. I had this sickening feeling, like something wasn't quite right. I pulled the handle. Guards in shiny white uniforms junoed on me. I ducked and tripped one, but there were about five more pinning me down. My arms were glued to the floor in agonizing pain, but my legs were free. I shot them up, dating them. I junped up and shot two of them. Curtis and my crew ran out and started to hand fight the other three. I took a Phaser from a dead guard and knocked out a guard that Curtis was fighting. Soon, we were safe from guards
"Boss, this one will wake up soon. We need to take him with us."
"Just kill him."
"But-"
"I said, KILL HIM!" I ripped my gun from the holster and shot him. The bullet only bounced off. I shot him again, but he wasn't wounded. My gun clattered to the floor. It couldn't be. I felt like I should be happy or excited, but I was only shocked. The world around me started to spin. Then it went black
