The bitter taste to sweet lips caused for unbalance in the mind of Park Jimin. He help himself to the taste for a short time that carried on far too long for liking. Everything around him froze for only that second in which he came in contact with his partner, however it was back to normal which caused a panic in him. He did push himself away completely once the gesture was over and neither did the drunk man breathing on his cheek.
"Forgot my phone." Jungkook said as he held up the device he'd come searching for before taking himself back to the only table in the whole venue that was enjoying themselves a bit too much. Jimin waited till the man was far enough to push away completely from Yoongi who blabbered nonsense to him.
"Nice safe cheeks." Yoongi said before going for another sip of his drink. "Wouldn't mind another one though."
The high cheeks of the man's followed by a toothy smile caused Jimin to shake his head before lowering it to hide away his face. He was embarrassed by what he thought to be the only way to salvage the information being spilled by his not so sober partner. The detective could only shame himself quietly during the time his partner indulge in his drink and sport distracting him. Not being about to handle the hammering thoughts of humiliation, Jimin stood to leave. He dropped on the table a bill that would cover his consumation before making the first move to exit. A hand gripped his before two steps could be taken.
"Where are you going?" A red face stared up at the male full of discomfort. "You can't leave."
"I can and I am. Goodnight."
"No, like you seriously can't leave. I need you to drive my car back."
In Yoongi's hand was another full cup of beer which Jimin was unaware as to when it was put down on their table. The intoxicated man was looking up knowingly because he knew he wouldn't have to worry for his car for Jimin would not leave him. He was right for the male sat himself right back down. They did not speak, Yoongi was too into the sport's game on the screens and Jimin was frankly too deep in thought about his actions to even try to mutter a word worth of conversation. He was lost in his head as he questioned himself to the core for his reaction.
Had he done what he had subconsciously therefore should not dwell on the action or had he been fully aware of his doing because he had subconsciously wanted to do what he did? Was there a secret desire hidden which wanted shining when the chance presented itself? Or had he just taken the precautions necessary to protect himself so he shouldn't bash himself for kissing his partner who for one was a man who might not appreciate such gesture from another?
At the very last of his thought, more wheel turned in the inexperienced detective. Jimin turned his head the slightest to catch sight of Yoongi who did not seem fazed no longer by what he was seeing. The older man had not pushed away, if anything there had been the lowest form of force pushing back against Jimin's lips. There was now questioning towards Yoongi.
"Should I take you home now?" Jimin questioned when he met eyes with his partner. "It's getting late."
Yoongi shrugged his shoulders. "I guess, this game's gotten boring."
Jimin stood first while Yoongi downed the last bit of his drink. He headed to where his three other friends were joined by even more people than before. Taehyung made a dramatic scene where he pretended to cry for his friends' absences. Hoseok joined in which left Jungkook to pull them away in order for the other to get a move on. They wished each other a swell weekend before Jimin joined Yoongi outside where he saw something unexpected of him.
A flame joined in lighting the outside of the venue as it brought to life the end of a cigarette. Yoongi helped in bring out the smoke of the stick. It clouded it around him for sometime just as Jimin joined his side. They exchanged only looks that spoke themselves. It was not the first time Yoongi had seen it so he responded back sounding rehearsed.
"I'm cold."
"I don't care."
There was truth yet lie in the claim. Jimin didn't dwell on it because there was truth in Yoongi's words, it was cold. The wind had picked up and the degrees in terms of weather had significantly dropped since they had been outside. Keys were handed over but only one of the two entered. The smoker stayed put as he burned away a bit more of his stick. Eyes were set on him yet he ignored to acknowledge them. Those that watched thought carefully as the smoke vanished. Jimin wondered if he really knew Yoongi at all.
When not much of the cigarette was left, Yoongi called it quits. He stepped on the light to be put out before slipping into his mouth a candy. Once the two were in the car and heading out, Jimin spoke up again.
"Where am I taking you?"
An address was given and there they were taken. They came to a stop in a residential area in where the houses were similar to those back in Jimin's hometown. He looked about each and everyone of the quiet homes wondering if that was how it was now where he use to live. The car engine died which sparked words.
"Take the car back with you, you won't get a cab around here."
Jimin agreed to taking it for he did not wish to be stranded so far from home. Before there was a chance to talk anymore, Yoongi stepped out. Eyes followed his shaky steps to the porch of a white house where someone already stood. The figure of a petite young woman in a robe was visible due to the light of the house, she took Yoongi into her arms. The man fell so effortlessly into the affectionate cradling. Hands touched his hair before they went to his cheeks where then they were replaced with a pair of lips.
The scene left the detective in the car questioning more than ever if he really knew his partner.
