Asta, Yuno and Tyrus/Race for The Wizard King Starts Now! Part 1

15 Years Later.

It was a sunny day all across the Clover Kingdom especially over in the Forsaken Realm as farmers had been hard at work preparing for what they would hope would be a bountiful and successful harvest. One farmer had been preparing the soil, dropping the seeds and patting the soil back in.

Farmer: Hopefully, we can get a great harvest this year. Your turn.

The other farmer who possessed water magic forms a medium sized water ball before expanding so that he could pop and spread the liquid all over the field.

Farmer #2: Yeah.

???: SISTER LILYYYYYYYYYY!

Everyone in the field had no choice but to perk up at the shouting exhibition as their ears were ringing.

Farmer: What in the.....

Farmer: Guess that kid from the church is back at with Sister Lily.

We throw it over to the church where a now adolescent Asta is attempting his daily courting of Sister Lily who was in the process of folding laundry for the day.

Asta: I'LL BECOME THE WIZARD KING SOMEDAY AND MAKE YOU THE HAPPIEST YOU'VE EVER BEEN!

He then presented one lone pink flower to Lily who a sweatbead going down from her jaw.

Asta: SO PLEASE MARRY ME!

Sister Lily: I'm sorry Asta, but I'm everyone's sister.

Asta: No, not yet!

Sister Lily: I'm sorry but I can't.

Asta: I'm not giving up yet!

Sister Lily: Asta, I-

Asta: NOT YET!

It was at this point the Sister was left with no choice in snapping Asta's rambling but desperate times would often call for one of her favorites to get those desperate measures she so often hated going to.

Sister Lily: WATER CREATION MAGIC: HOLY FIST OF LOVE!

Soon a giant water ball took shape over Asta's entire body and emulating a giant fist came down flush on the ash blonde's thick skull as he made a few gurgling sounds.

Sister Lily: Oh my Goodness, I'm sorry Asta! I used my grimoire and magic without thinking.

???: Wouldn't be the first time Asta had it coming, the passionate idiot he is.

Asta shook his head getting all the residue from Lily's unintentional attack off, turning around to find one of his many younger siblings in Tyrus snickering.

Asta: HEY WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LAUGHING FOR TYRUS?!

Tyrus broke his laughing stupor as he wiped a tear trying to escape his right eye.

Tyrus: Oh nothing really dude. Just acknowledging how Sister Lily pounding your head into the ground will never get old.

Recca: Well done, Sister.

Nash: No mercy, whatsoever.

Two of their younger siblings, Recca a 13 year-old strawberry haired female and Nash, a 10 year-old brunette male approached to applaud the sister in stopping Asta's shenanigans once again.

Sister Lily: We shouldn't applaud the use of magic for violence. I-I It just happened.

Asta: I'm not giving up!

???: Sheesh. Just how many times does she have to dump you Asta?

Soon the last member who completed the trio of eldest kids, Yuno had appeared from seemingly out of nowhere.

Asta: EHHHHHHH? WHY ARE YOU GETTING IN MY WAY TOO, YUNO?!

Tyrus: And technically, Sister Lily isn't dumping him if they were never together to begin with.

Asta: NOT YOU TOO, TY!

Tyrus: How do I tell you this without hurting your feelings good buddy?

Yuno: I have got this covered. It's because Asta's short, he's loud.

Each stabbing word came seemingly with a piercing arrow hitting him from all directions.

Yuno: You're obnoxious, immature. Basically Asta, you're not appealing to women in any way.

Tyrus: Well what he said, except that last part. That was just unnecessary on his end.

He shuffled past Asta and made his way over towards Sister Lily who had concluded folding the clothes.

Asta: Hey, is that what you two say to every person you've grown up with for the past fiifteen years, you handsome jerks?!

Yuno: Here, allow me to give you a hand.

Lily graciously accepted his assistance as Tyrus played with some of the kids.

Asta: Don't ignore me, damn it!

Tyrus: Asta, you have to realize, Sister Lily is a woman of the cloth dude. She can't get married... like at all. Then there's the fact you're fifteen like Yuno and I, so you never really had a chance to begin with.

Asta: Shut up Tyrus, always having to keep it level-headed, why I oughta-

Tyrus: Someone has to, otherwise, you and Yuno would've killed each other by now.

Asta: I challenge you and Yuno to a three-way fight, right now!

Tyrus: Absolutely not.

Yuno: And I decline.

Asta: And why the hell not?!

Tyrus: Because I'm kinda busy right now. And you're too emotional at this very moment.

Yuno: And it's a massive waste of time.

Asta: What'd you say?!

Nash: Give it a rest, there's no real way you can beat Tyrus or Yuno, Asta.

Tyrus: I didn't say all that now. He could if he truly wanted the fight more than me.

But the snarkiness of Nash was all that Asta needed to be pushed over the edge.

Asta: TAKE THIS! MY ULTIMATE....

Nash: Hold on, Asta.

Asta: ATTACK.

Nash: You should've seen this coming, I mean you literally have no magic.

Asta: No... I'm not done yet! UGHHHHHH, still nothing whyyyyyy?!

Aruru: You're funny, Asta

Nash: I can see why you're acting this way. It's hard to believe someone you age doesn't have not even a drop of magic in them.

Asta: WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH ME?! I AM OLDER THAN YOU, SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR YOUR ELDERS!

Nash: Not a chance. Haven't you figured it out yet? Magic is everything in this world, it's never a matter of if you have it or not but how much. You, Asta are the only person I know of that has no trace of magic and can't use any of it.

Asta clicked his teeth together and Tyrus wanted to intervene.

Tyrus: Alright, Nash thank you for that.... blunt insight. But last I checked, it wasn't Try to Bring Your Brother Down Worse Than He Already Feeling Is Day. So....

He then centered in on Nash and gave him a threatening look.

Tyrus: But I'll need you to tone it down a smidge. And when I say a smidge I mean a lot, got it?

Nash: Y-Yeah sure whatever you say.

Asta: Hey there, I'm not done with you Nash. It's time to show you all what I'm really made of with my secret moves.

Nash: What you're really made of?

Recca: You have secret moves, Asta?

Asta, in his typically cheery and intense disposition began to do rapid-fire sit-ups.

Asta: YEAHHH, YEAHHH, YEAHHHH, BET YOU CAN'T DO SIT UPS THIS FAST HUH?!

Aruru giggled as everyone just had nervous sweatbeads forming on their faces

Nash: No one cares about sit-ups, you moron.

Aruru: You're funny, Asta!

The young child's attention was soon diverted as a gust of a wind caused by Yuno's wind magic to dry the clothes off even more was going off. Everyone flocked over to him fawning over his innate talent, buying Tyrus a much needed break and Asta, deciding to not get shown up went on the other side of the church, grabbing an axe.

Asta: Fine then leave all the wood chopping to me, my strength alone can handle that much.

But before he could bring down the sharp blade onto the wood, wind magic, sharp magic at that came down harshly yet leaving a perfect slice down the middle.

Asta: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Nash: Wowwwww, and all three of them are supposed to be the same age? I really can't tell.

It was a point that Asta had heard enough from his way too blunt adopted younger brother and for really the first time had murder on his mind but before he could strangle Nash.

WHAM!

Asta: ACKKKK!

Out from the house of worship emerged an aged Father Orsi, who despite being in his 50's still had good looks and plenty of wisdom to dispel, but today he was in a cheerful mood as he shouted from the top of his lungs.

Father Orsi: YUNO AND TYRUS ARE THE HOPES OF THIS CHURCH!

Asta, was now demoralized as he tuned out the conversation developing behind him.

Nash: Getting into the Magic Knights isn't just a silly dream for those two. Ty and Yuno are definitely going to get in for sure.

Tyrus: Well we won't know that for certain. Jinx it now, and one of us might get hurt before the actual ceremony even happens.

Sister Lily: The awarding of the grimoires is coming up. Once you get yours along with Yuno and Tyrus, everything will change, just wait and see, Asta. You'll be using magic before long at all.

Stars struck his eyes as he found his resolve once again.

Asta: THANK YOU SO MUCH SISTER LILY.

He then peered out to the massive Demon Skull which for the most part signified you were in the Forsaken Realm.

Asta: I'M GOING TO GET THE MOST AWESOME GRIMOIRE! I'LL JOIN UP WITH THE MAGIC KNIGHTS THAT PROTECT THE CLOVER KINGDOM AND ONCE THAT'S FINISHED, I'LL BECOME THE MOST AWESOME WIZARD KING EVER, JUST LIKE THE FIRST THAT SAVED HUMANITY! YEAHHHHHHHHH!

Nash: He's never going to give up this nonsense, will he?

Tyrus: It's not nonsense if you have a dream and it's worth pursuing. You'll see what I mean when you get older little man.

Asta: AND THEN I'LL COME BACK AND FIX THIS CRUMBLING DUMP OF A CHURCH!

Something that didn't sit well with the Father. Sure he knew Asta meant well with what he said, he just could have worded it differently as with those words came a crumpling of Orfai's face.

Father Orsi: CRUMBLING DUMP?! THAT'S TAKING IT TOO FAR ASTA!

Asta: Right Tyrus, Yuno?!

Tyrus walked over and bumped fists with his older foster brother by two months.

Tyrus: Come on Yuno. You know deep down you want to. Don't leave us hanging, brother.

The wind magic user looked at both of his brothers before making his way into the church, not even so much as saying a word, leaving everyone pretty much stunned by the cold front he was putting on. Sure Yuno, wasn't the most outgoing person but leaving both brothers out in the freezer like that? Unlike him. Asta's hand dropped and his face darkened.

Asta: I'll show all of you.

He then bolted away from the church making a beeline for his place of comfort, the Demon Skull as he wiped a few hot tears threatening to escape his eyelids.

Asta: I'LL SHOW ALL OF YOU DAMNIT! JUST WATCH AND SEE, I'LL PROVE ALL OF YOU WRONG!

Sister Lily: Asta, wait!

Tyrus frowning at the already detoriating situation put a hand on Sister Lily.

Tyrus: I'll go after him, Sister Lily. It's about that time that he goes on one of his patented over-the-top workouts anyway and I think I might tag along. You can check on Yuno. This is unlike him even for his usual chilly disposition.

Sister Lily: Thank you Tyrus.

He nodded as he jumped the wooden bench and followed Asta despite being a considerable distance away from the non-magic possessing human. She then made her way into the church she spotted Yuno locked in on the angel, staring intently as she closed the doors behind her.

Sister Lily: Hey, Yuno. Do you think you can try to get along a little better with Asta and Tyrus? You know how you three used to be when you were younger? Everywhere one of you guys went, the other two would follow.

A flashback would consume her memory bank as her inner thoughts began to race to an image of a young trio of Asta, Tyrus and Yuno.

Sister Lily: I remembered Yuno used to be the biggest crybaby. But then one day, he and Tyrus came back with a horribly injured Asta. And since that day, he hasn't cried at all.

Yuno: What's the point Sister? There's no getting along with either of them. Least of all, Asta.

Her look became even sadder as she remembered back on that fateful moment that changed two of the three oldest kids.

Sister Lily: Now that I think about it. Asta and Yuno changed after that moment. Yuno drifted slowly but surely away and Asta would come back covered in mud and grass almost everyday. I wonder where he traverses to when he runs off.

Soon the sun had began to set over Hage and the rest over the Clover Kingdom as Asta had been hard at work yet again, pushing his muscles past any normal human threshold as he was about the milennium mark of one armed push-ups..... while in a vertical fashion

Asta: 996! 997! 998! 999! 1000!

He hopped up as he began to drink his 'Magic Enhancing Juice' which was absolutely disgusting but hey, it wouldn't deter from his dream of being The Wizard King.

Asta: BLECHHH, that's disgusting! BACK TO IT!

He began concentrating, firing open palm strikes in repeat.

Tyrus: So this is the part of the Skull you're usually working out in?

Asta turned around to find Tyrus behind him flashing a polite smile.

Tyrus: Yuno and Nash came down on you pretty hard back at the church. You holding up alright Asta?

Asta: I'm used to it. Isn't it tradition to kick down the only non-magic user in the world?

Tyrus: You know that's not true. Nash is too blunt for his own good you should already know this but he means well. Yuno, even I have to admit that was unlike him. He's always been.... cold sure, but never this chilly beforehand. I don't honestly know if he's putting too much on himself with the acceptance ceremony coming up or what but you should know we all care about you, ya short idiot.

Asta: I guess you're right.... HEY WHO ARE YOU CALLING A SHORT IDIOT?!

Tyrus: It's too easy to ruffle your feathers, I swear. Come on, I'll finish this workout with you.

Asta flashbacked to a time three bumped fists together as a sign that they would have each other backs.

Asta: I will be the Wizard King, nothing's going to stop me.

Asta: AND THE FIRST STEP IS GETTING OUR BODIES TRAINED UP!

Tyrus: Let's get active then, eldest brother! But you don't have to yell in my ear constantly. I'd be surprised if I'm not deaf really soon.

March. When the firefly dandelion blossom and float into the air, once a year in the Clover Kingdom those kids that have reached fifteen years of age travel and gather for the annual Grimoire Acceptancce Ceremony, an event that will increase the user's magical power.

Tyrus and Asta looked at the very top and appeared to be two kids in the candy shop while Yuno, ever so calm, cool and collected looked relatively shocked to see how far the shelves went up.

Asta: WHOA LOOK AT THIS PLACE! Are all these shelves stocked with grimoires?! When I get my grimoire, we'll keep our promise to each other, and I'll finally be able to use magic just like Tyrus and Yuno! You guys won't be leaving me in the dust any longer.

Tyrus: It's like it's never-ending honestly. I wouldn't at all be surprised if they go up to the roof!

Two aspiring mages walked into the fold feeling pretty full of themselves knowing they were destined for potential greatness but their attitudes left a lot to be desired.

NPC Aspiring Mage #1: The day I finally become a full fledged mage is here at long last. It's about time.

NPC Aspiring Mage #2: Speaking of which, look at what the cat dragged into the tower. It's those three chumps. Can they be any more shabbier? They shouldn't have to give out charity case grimoires to the likes of them.

NPC Mage one chuckled.

Mage 1: They're absolutely beneath us and our realm of thinking. You don't think they'd be foolish and attempt the Magic Knights Entrance Exam?

Mage 2: Only high ranking nobility and royals have the innate magic ability that is required to pass the exams. Urchins like those would just be wasting their time, especially that short stack Asta. Word is he doesn't have an ounce of magic in him. We should take extra special care of him, he's one of a kind.

Tyrus: And see this is why I hate the peanut gallery's commentary. I promised Sister Lily and the kids I wouldn't hurt anybody today, it'd just take away from the moment at hand but right now, I'm dangerously close to breaking that oath.

Before he could take any action and pound Dumb and Dumber into the ground however, a booming voice echoed throughout the Tower.

Drouot: WELCOME TO GRIMORE TOWER ACCEPTEES! TODAY ON THIS MOMENTOUS OCCASSION, YOU WILL TAKE YOUR FIRST STEP TOWARDS A NEW PATH FILLED WITH INTEGRITY, HOPE, STRENGTH AND LOVE. FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNFAMILAR OR DO NOT KNOW WHO I AM, I AM THE GRAND WIZARD WHO OVERSEES THIS PRESTIGIOUS OCCASION. NOW, NEVER IN THE HISTORY OF THIS REGION EVER BEEN DESIGNATED A MAGIC KNIGHT, MUCH LESS THE WIZARD KING. I DO PRAY ONE OR EVEN A FEW OF YOU CAN BREAK THE MOLD OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MAGIC KNIGHT AND THE MOST POWERFUL MAGE IN ALL THE CLOVER KINGDOM.... SERIOUSLY I MEAN CAN ONE OF YOU BECOME A MAGIC KNIGHT FOR THE LOVE OF THE FIRST WIZARD KING!

There was a collective silence as the Grand Wizard gained his focus back, not noticing a sinister presence had made its way into the tower.

Drouot: Ahem... and the moment you all have been waiting for... to accept your.... grimoires.

And as soon he concluded, grimoires began glowing left, right, up, down basically all directions in a light show. They came down to all of their respective new owners in all shapes, sizes, number of pages and colors with the reception being mixed among the crowd's aspiring mages.

First Kid: Finally! This is my ticket out of this hodge-podge village!

Second Kid: I can finally carry on the family name and business!

Teenager: This is my grimoire, kinda thin, no?

Teenager: Why the hell is my so tiny?

Some were more optimistic than others such as the case with a young lady holding a red grimoire that had a few pages chocked full of spells on them.

Young Lady: I guess I'll try to figure what happens next and gain few new spells along the way.

Then the NPC's who were just recently talking down on the trio of foster brothers had received theirs.

Mage 1: Hmmm. Six months from now, I'll be taking the prestigious Magic Knights Entrance Exam, and join one of the famed orders in command of the Wizard King.

Drouot smiled as this was one of the true passions he loved about the ceremony annually. Tyrus's grimoire, a silver and navy blue three-leaf grimoire that was decent in size and had an abudance of empty pages that new spells were waiting to be discovered and scripted on.

Tyrus: Let us set off on a fantastic journey, dear grimoire. Can't wait to see what the future holds for me, let's-

Asta: Ummmm is my grimoire running late or something?

Everyone in attendance turned their heads at Asta, who had been one knee with both of his arms extended out awaiting patiently for his missing one way ticket to living out his potential dreams and ambitions. Tyrus's heart was starting to break for him, mainly because Asta had made this show and was starting to embarass himself with all eyes on him. The wizard looked at the ash blonde hair kid and sheepily said.

Drouot: Well um... try again next year.

Asta: WHHAAAAAAAA- NEXT YEAR?!

It was at this point everyone began laughing loudly at the misfortunate scene unfolding in front while in the background the residents at the church were a mixture of unsurprised, heartbreak and not wanting to say anything. Tyrus wanted to so badly get him out of there but knowing Asta he wasn't going down without a fight. Then as if on cue, an explosion of light burst from a certain grimoire of legend, emerald green in its appearance but this had-

Mage 1: Four leaf- CLOVER GRIMOIRE?

Everyone had gone from heckling Asta to standing in amazement and shock

Mage 2: A four leaf grimoire- belonging to that peasant?

Father Orsi: The legendary grimoire- that was once bestowed upon the First Wizard King?

Sister Lily: If the legends about it are true, then it's not only imbued with tremendous magical power but good luck as well.

Nash: And Yuno has it? Though none of us should really be surprised by it.

As soon as the glowing of the legendary spell book died down, it dropped down in Yuno's hand as he then turned to the crowd before declaring boldly.

Yuno: I will.... become the Wizard King!

Tyrus: Get in line Yuno. As your brother and rival, I'll beat you long before you get there. And I'll be the Wizard King!

Yuno: Very well then.... may the best man win. Tyrus.

Their intense moment of spirited declarations were soon interrupted as everyone shouted at the duo with Asta dropping to his knees, defeated temporarily.

Crowd: AMAZING!!

Father Orsi: That's why they are the two biggest stars out in Hage Village!

Aruru: Yay TY AND YUNO!

Asta: Just you wait Tyrus and Yuno..... I will catch up to you both! And it'll be me who becomes The Wizard King!

Yuno after hearing this declaration and then harsh laughter the befell Asta simply didn't acknowledge him, even going as far as to walk past him.

Yuno: No.... you won't.

Asta stood silence as yet again he was brushed off by the one guy seemed destined for greatness. He resigned to defeat once again as he wondered what the hell happened with the crybaby brother that would always follow him around whenever he got the chance. Were they naturally just drifting apart? Sister Lily wanted to comfort Asta but knew in all likelihood it would do nothing in improving his mood or extinguishing his embarrasment he had now just experienced three times over.

Father Orsi: Well everyone, it's time to head on back to prepare for the big banquet. And since today was very special, everyone gets three pot potatoes tonight.

Aruru: Yay!

Recca: Maybe we could try something different for a change?

Everyone in attendance soon began departing their own separate and respective as that once sinister presence that the Grand Wizard failed to detect the first time finally made a physical appearance, sticking to the shadows as he had his focus on two individuals, one possessing the Four-Leaf Clover Grimoire and the owner of a grimoire that dared stand up to the former with his own intense aura.

???: Well, well... this is very interesting. The four-leaf grimoire has its new master, and he's from a sleepy little village in the Forsaken Realm no less. Interesting times we live in, indeed.

A few hours later, dusk was beginning to take shape over Hage and its surrounding areas.

Asta: I was so sure..... all this time I just needed a grimoire and boom! The magic would come right to me. And now to not even get one on the day of the ceremony.

Doubt started to creep into his mind before he retained a steely cool look onto his face as he kicked up, landing on the branch which he had just been hanging on.

Asta: Hell no! I'm not giving up this dream of mines yet, NOT SO EASILY! No, you're not beating me or winning this fight so easily, fate. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE ME, DAMNIT. I may not be able to use magic, but I won't let that stop me from achieving my dreams and fighting my brothers all the way top so I can become the strongest Wizard King imaginable! And I'll prove that anyone can be greatest as long they keep fighting! AND JUST YOU WAIT TY AND YUNO!

Speaking of other two brothers, the two had been on the other side of Hage, still at the Grimore Tower as both Ty an Yuno were stonewalled but not at all scared, in fact both had poker faces as both had run afoul two very upset villagers.

NPC 2: Hey uh, isn't that taking it a little too far wouldn't you say so?!

NPC 1: SHUT UP! WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THE STARS OF THE CEREMONY TODAY AND FOR YOU TWO... RATS TO UNDERCUT US AND TAKE ALL THE GLORY FOR YOURSELVES. ESPECIALLY ONE THAT WIELDS THE MOST LEGENDARY GRIMOIRE TO HAVE EVER EXISTED. A LOWLIFE, COMMONER.

Tyrus: I'm sorry.... whatever your names are? I fail to see where any of misfortunes are either mine or my brother's fault. All four of us got our grimoires but trust me when I say this much. You don't want these problems least of all from me.

However the more angry prospective mage wasn't hearing none of Tyrus's low-lining threats.

NPC 1: JUST FOR THAT I'LL HAVE YOUR TONGUE AND THEN I'LL BURN THAT DAMNED FOUR LEAF CLOVER GRIMOIRE, I DON'T CARE IF IT IS THE FIRST WIZARD KING'S OR NOT BUT I WILL NOT ALLOW A DIRTY STREET RAT TO WIELD ITS POTENTIAL!

His grimoire rose and flashed a brilliant crimson and orange as a fire torrent blazed through making its way towards the brothers as Yuno would raise his and the fire wouldn't even touch or Tyrus as a tornado shielded from the hot temperatures. After which, Tyrus brought the heat and fired off a cyclone of his own, this time firing off brutal cold and instead of biting wind to sit the aggressive spellcaster and his friend now terrified of the power they were witnessing be put on full display.

NPC 1: He just brushed away my spell like it was nothing, and then that other urchin fired off a cyclone that turned the temperature almost to below freezing temperatures. And they did all without even using those grimoires of theirs. GO ON, YOU TRY!

NPC 2: Wait, what? After what you just pulled and they responded with?

NPC 1: YES, YOU OBVIOUSLY!

Tyrus: Don't do it, dude. I can't blame you if you were scared right now.

Suddenly, however chains sprang out of the brick layers scaring the two would be assaulters and wrapping them up, their screams piercing the sky and gaining the attention of Asta who was still inside of the Demon's Skull but was fast on the trail of where they were coming from.

Asta: Hm? That came from the Tower.

???: Now, now. We can't have that precious and legendary grimoire getting burned up due to bruised egos and happenstance. And trying to escape is impossible my friends, my Magic Iron Binding Chain Formation Spell all of its captives movements and their magic in one go.

Yuno: Who are you?

Tyrus: And more importantly what do you want? Surely you didn't come offering peace or cookies with some milk.

???: Hmm hmm. You two wouldn't understand but that's to be expected from mere village boys. And until recent events, I was very well known amongst the Magic Knight Squads as Chain Magic Revchi. But I was expelled from the illustrious ranks of those who are tasked with defending the Clover Kingdom in its entirety, so now I'm nothing more than a humble thief and so-

Chains would spring from the bottom, capturing both Yuno and Tyrus in said metal trap as both grimoires fell harmlessly to the ground.

Revchi: If you don't mind, I'll be taking both of your grimoires and be on my way, young ones.

Tyrus: Damn it, this chump wasn't kidding at all. Slowly but surely, I can feel my mana and magic draining. Like I was hit with a poison arrow or something. He doesn't give a shit about my grimoire but Yuno's. However, I guess two is better than one in this case.

Yuno: Your name is Revchi, wasn't it? Why steal our grimoires, there's essentially no point in doing it.

Revchi: Indeed you are right, a grimoire can't be used by anyone but their master, village boy. I'm well aware of this fact, but then agan there are plenty of black market collectors that would value the legendary Four-Leaf Clover grimoire and it would most definitely capture a small fortune. You only received it you haven't even so much as casted a spell yet from it yet. Mere hatchlings are what you two are, and today's your lucky day. Both of your legends are over, and such a pity because they haven't even began.

Revchi began to laugh sinisterly before he stared at both the pendant Yuno had always sported and Ty's opulent necklace and by comparison bigger pendant.

Revchi: Well, well. I bet your pendants would fetch a decent little price as well.

Tyrus: You're really fucking lucky he and I can't even defend ourselves right now-

Asta: HOLD IT RIGHT THERE! RAHHHH-

BOOMMMMM!

Asta had jumped over the crevice and would unceremoniusly hit the other side of the brick layer, before landing flat on his head. But just as quickly as he hit hard, he sprung back up to challenge Revchi.

Asta: WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING TO MY BROTHERS?! I CAME TO SAVE- Eh? Hey, creep! Why do you have my brother's grimoires and what happened to those two over there?! SPEAK NOW! YOU DIRTY ROTTEN THIEF!

Revchi took a moment to see if he could register Asta and his memory bank.

Revchi: Oh, yes, I remember you! You're the sad little boy who couldn't even obtain a simple grimoire today aren't you?

Asta: Oh so you have heard of me then? Yeah, yeah. The poor kid who has no magic and didn't get a grimoire. BUT THE ONLY PLACE A GRIMOIRE HAS ANY BUSINESS ASIDE FROM THE TOWER IS THE PERSON IT WAS ASSIGNED TO! SO GIVE TYRUS AND YUNO THEIR GRIMOIRES BACK AND LET THEM GO NOW!

Once more, the scarred bandit began to laugh.

Revchi: You're truly a sheltered creature if you think that type of argument is going to win me over or get you to being the Wizard King, especially with the likes of me! Allow to dispel these silly notions you've come up with.

His grimoire glew a brilliant baby blue as Yuno and Tyrus both knew what was coming.

Tyrus: ASTA!

Yuno: Get out of here and run. These chains are nothing to play with, they're draining our magic!

Asta: Run from a waste of space like him?! NOT A CHANCE YOU TWO!

He blazed right towards the absconder as his chains made their way like lightning towards Asta looking to inflict unholy amounts of pain on the non-magic teenager. Asta proceeded to dodge the first couple of chains but more kept spilling the mini portal Revchi had created. He jumped over Revchi, attempting to land a strike on him but before he could connect with his spine and back, two chains would wrap around Asta, stopping his movements immediately and despite struggling, the chains continued to tighten.

Revchi: No boy.... you're finished here and now.

His grimoire once again glowed, creating a torrent of snake-like chains formed above Asta and flew down with tremendous speed and accuracy, cutting him from all angles, shredding clothes and piercing skin wherever they could.

Revchi: SUFFER NOW FROM MY DANCE OF THE PITLESS VIPER! YES, LET ME HEAR YOUR UNLIMITED SCREAMS OF AGONY, WHELP!

More chains would slam into Asta with ruthless accuracy with one narrowly missing his mouth, as he went tumbling into the other side of the brick foundation.

Asta: That was one serious attack... So this is power of mages outside of the village. No matter how I've trained my body, there's only so much I can do... I don't stand a chance against mages like this, or rather magic like this.

Revchi: You see, boy?! It's simply no use! Thank you for playing with me I surely do appreciate it!

Asta: It's not over, I will win here. I will be- (coughs up some blood intensely) The Wizard King!

Revchi: The Wizard King?! Did I overdo it with the chain magic? Just how hard did you hit these bricks, you must be joking! Thing is, these chains can measure the magic power surging through its victims while also draining their mana and you little boy, you have NONE! NOT A SINGLE DROP! You were probably born that and if you were, I sympathize with you but this explains why you failed in obtaining a grimoire. That actually makes you a once in a lifetime individual for you to carry such a burden on your shoulders, indeed.

Asta while listening in a physical sense, was tuning out Revchi as his doubts began flooding internally.

Asta: If what he's saying is true, then... no matter how much I train physically, I'll never be able to use magic. But I can't let that stop me, we three always had the same common goal.

Revchi: I legitmately can't think of something more pitiful. The fact I had to exhaust any magic on you, is quite hilarious yet sad at the same time. Forget this ridiculous dream becoming The Wizard King, you should be begging for mercy. Hell, you'd be lucky to obtain any job. Meanwhile your two brothers over there can't do anything, it seems they've already given up on you and are laughing at you.

Tyrus: You're right.... I am laughing. But not at Asta.

Revchi turns around to find a still restrained Tyrus chuckling to himself.

Tyrus: The only joke here is you, Revchi. Sure, Asta may have no magic to him and any normal person would be crazy to NOT laugh at my brother. But the fact that said no-magic wielding kid made you use magic against.... is hilarious.

Revchi: Need I remind you I have your grimoire? You can't even wield a spell at this moment in time and he might as well give it all up on this silly little dream of his. He was born a loser, and he'll forever be destined to be a loser! Worthless little runt!

Yuno: Where do you get... off? Who the hell are you calling a loser?

Just as Asta's began to close towards potential slumber, Yuno woke him right back up.

Yuno: Asta.... it's true that you won't become the Wizard King, not ever!

Tyrus: Supposed to be motivating him, Yuno.

Revchi: You hear that, little boy? Even the possessor of the Four Leaf Grimoire, your own brother doesn't believe in your unattainable dream.

Yuno kept calling back to the night where Asta fought off the would be thief that attempted to make off with Yuno's pendant when they were mere kids.

Yuno: That's because I'm going become the Wizard King! You're wrong about Asta, Revchi. You are oh so very wrong about him.

The final flashback saw all three adopted brothers bump fists with Asta's sporting a bloody knuckle along with other nasty facial injuries as he smiled.

Yuno: Asta's no loser, Revchi. He is Tyrus and I's rival and our brother!

Those words alone seemed to snap Asta out of his pity fiesta as his eyes snapped right back open. Revchi wasn't trying to hear any of it.

Revchi: This is who you two promising mages would declare to be your rival? A blight on this world with no magic to his very spirit? You both are just as delusional as he is.

It was at this point that he felt a tight grip on his ankle as now, Asta was absolutely furious but also motivated.

Asta: GET.... THE... HELL OFF OF ME!

This truly unnerved the former Magic Knight as he quickly dislodged his foot off of Asta's fresh shoulder wound. How the hell was this brat still alive?

Asta: Tyrus, Yuno... I'm sorry you had to see me look so weak and have that helpless moment just now. Just give me a second to gather my bearings.... That's all I need..... TO BEAT THIS BASTARD!

Soon, lightning began dropping all around the thief and teenager and for a few seconds and stills in his life, Revchi could've sworn he saw Asta turned black and red, his eyes going from their usual starry green to pure white with red pupils. And as quickly as the lightning storm happened... a book seemingly appearing out thin air and nothingness, a black and dusty grimoire with... five clover leafs made its way down towards Asta, floating in front of his face before making Revchi's chains that had previously stabbed to disappear.

Asta: There's no way- could this be.... my grimoire?

Yuno: I knew it... as if you wouldn't be chosen Asta. There's no way.

Tyrus: Now get the hell up and make this clown eat everything he just spewed towards you... if you really are our rival!

The grimoire, now flashing red and black flames, opened up showing a few spells and a giantsword appeared as Revchi was now scared for his life.

Revchi: Is this... YOUR MAGICAL POWER?! THIS CANNOT BE, MY CHAINS COULDN'T SENSE A LICK OF MAGIC IN YOU! HOW THE HELL DO YOU HAVE A GRIMOIRE?!

The sword hit the ground with a THUD, forming a mini dust cloud as it was glowing the same color as Asta's grimoire.

The leaves of a clover are each said to contain one thing. In the first three dwell Integrity, Hope and Love. With the fourth one given over to Good Luck.

Asta stood up being balanced by his new blade.

And in the fifth.... resides... THE DEVIL.

With that and renewed vigor, Asta stared blankly, ready to put his new "Magic" to the test against the man who attempted to make off with Tyrus and Yuno's grimoires.
