So Sakura, Kakashi, and I made our way back, leaving Naruto and Sasuke to keep trying to climb their tree. The two idiots still couldn’t get it. Not yet. We finally got back to the house and Tsunami had me and Sakura help her make dinner, like the awesome guests we are. Well, I’m still not sure about Sakura’s awesomeness, but I’m sure about mine!

I got cutting some potatoes for our stew that we were making and a couple of ants started crawling to my cut pieces like little bitches.

“Never!” I said loudly and stabbed an ant with the knife I was using. But the ant just went right through my knife and continued toward the potato pieces. I tried stabbing it again, this time with a little more force and it still just went right through.

“God dammit!” I shouted, slamming the knife on the countertop and pulled some water out of the faucet and froze each ant. But guess what? The ants just popped on through my ice.

“Yuki-san, whatever you are seeing isn’t real.” Tsunami comforted and my eyes widened. I whipped my head to Kakashi, seeing if he agreed or not and he simply nodded his head with a smirk.

“Oh…” I said quietly, melting the ice and putting it back in the sink. “Sorry about that, I just didn’t want those ants stealing our food!” I apologized with a forced smile. Tsunami laughed nervously and shrugged.

“It’s okay; it’s not your fault.” I grinned at her, fist pumping.

“Right!”

The door slammed open and I looked up from my delicious stew. Who dares interrupt Yuki Kitsune from her supper? Sasuke and Naruto of course. They both looked all dirty and were covered in sweat… they smelled bad.

“W-we did it!” Naruto said and I smiled at him. “All the way to the top!”

“Good job boys, now go get your asses in the showers! You smell like horse shit!” I scowled at the two of them and the rest of the table silently agreed, even Brother Bear- who was sitting across the table staring at me with menacing red eyes, holding a bloodied knife with a sadistic grin.

The two of them sighed in defeat and trudged up the stairs to hit the showers.

“There’s no point, you can’t defeat Gato.” Inari muttered and I raised a brow, a frown forming on my face. That downer is really starting to get on my nerves.

“Seriously Inari, You need to stand up and face your fears. No, we are doing that for you. So for you to say that to us, while we are doing your dirty work? Bitch move. All you have to do is stand back, but nooo, you have to bring us down with useless words. Because you are wrong, we can defeat him and whoever he throws at us. And I can understand why you are afraid, but you cannot give up nor hold us back. You need to fight and stay strong for your family.” I took a deep breath. “Because I never had a good family and I had a bad past. But I never gave up, I never stopped smiling. Although fifteen years of my life was wasted on stupid messed up shit, I got out of it and I found a new home, a new family.” Then I frowned. “Even if I caught one of my new family members’ parents doing the dirty.”

Sakura’s jaw dropped along with everyone else’s after bringing up her parents and she stomped on my foot from under the table. I didn’t even wince, because it didn’t even hurt. I simply shrugged and looked back to Inari.

“So stop being a pansy, almost my whole team has had a shitty life, worse than yours. You have a pretty amazing life actually; you have a caring mother and grandfather who love you very much.” Then I thought about something. He has all of these people trying to protect him, and all he does is push them away.

Inari stood up and glared at me with new tears forming in his eyes.

“I hate you!” he yelled at me and ran up the stairs, a door slam echoed throughout the house soon after. I huffed and glanced down into my empty glass. Damn, I knew I shouldn’t have chugged it all when I got it. I looked back up and I saw everyone staring at me.

“I’m sorry about that Yuki-san… Inari…” Tsunami trailed off and I smiled at her, waving my hand.

“Do you really think I care? So many people hate me; I think one more person doesn’t change much. And I am sorry; it was impolite of me to talk to Inari in that way.” I kept up my smile, even though I wanted to say screw it and leave. This was a mission, and I wasn’t going to mess it up.

“What’s with all of the tension?” Naruto asked, dressed and all clean. Sasuke came down the stairs soon after and we continued dinner, ignoring Naruto’s question.

I couldn’t sleep at all. I just lay in my bed and stared at the ceiling.

“Fuck, I need some vodka.” I finally said and threw my feet onto the cold hardwood floor. I was dressed in a short nightgown that slightly revealed my boobs, but it was late at night so I’m sure that everybody was asleep. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, and raided their liquor cabinet.

“Don’t blame Yuki for saying those things to you.” I heard Kakashi say from outside and I stood up straight, walking to the window with my vodka in my hands.

There was Kakashi talking to Inari, they were sitting on the porch. Well damn, I want to listen to what he has to say.

“She had a very horrible life that cannot compare to anybody else’s, and I think she’s jealous of what you have.” I growled silently and crossed my arms. I was not jealous!

“What do I have that she could possibly be jealous of?” Inari asked and I narrowed my eyes. Yeah Kakashi, what am I so jealous of?

“A family.” I felt my heart pang and I looked down to the countertop.

Okay, maybe I was a little.

I let Kakashi have his little talk with Inari, but that didn’t stop me from pissing him off. I sat on the kitchen chair backwards, so I faced the door and I could see the two of them and took a drink of my vodka. I waited for him to finish and when he was starting to stand, I froze his feet to the ground so he couldn’t move.

“What’s wrong?” Inari asked and I smirked. They still haven’t noticed me. Kakashi tried to lift his feet but he couldn’t.

“I-I can’t move.” He said quietly, but I could still hear him.

I decided to take it to the next level. With a grin, I made water from the surrounding trees form into little spikes and I aimed a few at Kakashi, missing on purpose. Inari yelped as he saw a spike fly next to him.

“I think we are under attack!” Kakashi exclaimed and tried to move again. I giggled a little and took it even further. I got a bucket full of water from the trees and made it go over Kakashi, without him noticing. Then with a soft snap, the water fell onto Kakashi, soaking him to the core.

I burst into laughing and both of them snapped their heads to see me. I unfroze Kakashi and made the water come off of him.

“Hi boys!” I greeted and Kakashi’s eye twitched. I took another gulp of the vodka as they both stomped into the house.

I stood up, kind of forgetting what I was wearing and watched as Inari suffered from a major nosebleed and Kakashi turned bright red. I shrugged it off and couldn’t help but to laugh again at their faces.

“What are you doing Yuki-chan?” I raised a brow.

“Since when was I a chan?” Kakashi smirked.

“Since you dumped me with water. Just to piss me off.” I grinned at him. He always knew why I did things. Well, not really.

“I don’t see any water.” I pointed out and he growled.

“You know why.”

“Why?” I asked with an evil smile. He threw his hands in the air.

“I don’t know how, your special powers!” he whined and I patted his shoulder with my free hand.

“I was just fucking with you, jeez.” I looked down to Inari who was currently glaring at me. “Why hello, Mr. Emo#2.”

“Don’t call me that.” He hissed and marched passed me and up to stairs. I shrugged and went back to peering at Kakashi.

“I guess your little pep talk didn’t work?” I smiled smugly at him and he frowned at me.

“So you heard.” He stated like I didn’t know already.

“Duh, that’s why I was being a bitch to you. You don’t talk about my past to anyone. Just let them think I’ve had the most perfect life anyone could imagine. Oh,” I softly smacked his masked cheek. “That was for telling him I was jealous, which I’m not.”

I didn’t let him reply as I took a few more sips of the vodka and put it back in its place. I sighed while making my way back up the stairs, Kakashi following me.

Wait. Why the hell was he following me?

“Aren’t you going to bed?” I questioned and he tilted his head.

“Yeah.” I furrowed my brows but went into my room nonetheless. Kakashi followed me in my room and slipped off his shoes.

“Whoa, what do you think you’re doing?” I asked and dramatically placed my hands on my hips. Kakashi paused, glancing at me for a moment before turning back to finish taking off his shoes and weapons pouch.

“I offered to room with you because they were low on one room. Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke are sharing a room and you and I are.” I groaned loudly.

“You know, just because we sleep together at our house doesn’t give you the right to say we sleep together everywhere.” I told him and he blinked.

“Would you rather sleep on the ground with our genin?” he asked and I got an irk mark.

“No. I’d rather chop this bed in half so we both have separate beds for once.” Kakashi chuckled at this and took off his green jacket, leaving him in just a black long sleeved shirt and some black sweat pants. He slipped under the covers, leaving me standing on the other side of the bed scowling.

“Damn it all.” I mumbled under my breath. I got in the bed on my side and let out a short growl. “Aren’t you going to take off your headband?” I asked, but wasn’t looking at him. I was looking for little patterns on the ceiling.

“I guess I could if you want me to.” I shot his a glare.

“I don’t care; I just thought you’d be more comfortable.” I pointed out and he laughed quietly.

“I was just joking.” Kakashi lifted his hand to his face and took off his headband with such grace. I rhymed… face and grace.

Wow, I am so lame.

“Go to sleep ass wipe.” I finally said after a moment of an awkward silence. Kakashi chuckled.

“I was already half-asleep when you said that.” I fumed but didn’t say anything.

Kakashi

I sighed relieved that Yuki seemed like she wasn’t going to talk anymore.

I really did feel bad for her. She was poisoned by that ‘hunter ninja’ and because of that she is seeing things. Not only will that slow us down for the next fight with Zabuza, it will also scare her every single time she sees something.

I suddenly felt something cuddle up against me and I snapped my head down.

Yuki…

She was curled in a small ball sound asleep, her head resting on my chest and one of her arms around my stomach. I fought down a blush and I groaned quietly. This girl does this to me every other night and I can’t ever will myself into waking her. In fact I was more comfortable like this.

Why? I didn’t have any more than friend feelings for her. Sure, she was very attractive and she has the most unique personality I could think of, but there is one fact that prevents me from making a move on her.

Our age difference.

What she’d say, damn.

Why couldn’t she just be a little bit older? The thought frustrates me, to the point where I want to scream. The age difference is three years but that is enough where people will disown the two of us for dating. And she probably doesn’t even like me. I mean, I have walked in on her several times while she was bathing. That should be enough reason for her to hate me.

I glanced down to her and resisted the urge to run my fingers in her hair. I suppressed another sigh and closed my eyes.

I really do need some sleep.
