Chapter 1: Adapting To A New Place
"So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable." ~Christopher Reeve
"Superman? You'll never be Superman. Because you have no idea what it means to be Superman. It's not about where you were born. Or what powers you have. Or what you wear on your chest. It's about what you do... it's about action." ~Superman (Infinite Crisis)
"Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us. And on my soul, I swear...until my dream of a world where dignity, honor, and justice becomes the reality we all share. I'll never stop fighting. Ever." ~Superman (Superman vs The Elite)
"What makes Superman a hero is not that he has power, but that he has the wisdom and the maturity to use the power wisely." ~Christopher Reeve
"The welfare of Earth and all its people will always be my primary concern. But if there is a solution to hunger, it must be one that comes from the compassionate heart of man and extends outward toward his fellow man. There's an old saying: 'Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime.' That simple message asks humankind to nurture with knowledge, to reach out to those in need and inspire others to do the same. That is life's greatest necessity and its most precious gift." ~Superman (Superman: Peace on Earth)

YOUR POV
Finishing unpacking my things in this well I should say home, but it feels like I'm in a homeless shelter. My room was quite cramped and since there was no bed I had to sleep on the floor.
"Sleeping on the floor, well when I get the material I'll make my own bed. I'll even do. Some renovating to make it feel even more welcoming than the state it is currently. But for now, I guess I should get ready for school."
Getting ready quickly to head to a new place, not the best way to feel for someone who does tend to be an introvert. I had to keep a low profile so I can't do anything to draw attention to myself. Getting to the school didn't take too long considering the distance from my house. I saw a guy hung up on the gate but I chose to ignore it.
"Already this place is weird if I was gonna go to Japan, why couldn't I've gone to the normal schools?
I had walked into the building trying to find the class I had on my schedule. Making my way to class didn't take too long but when I got to class 2-K. Before entering I dig in my pocket and take out a pair of glasses, for the reason of keeping my eyes from shooting that laser again. I felt like the mutant Cyclops having to wear glasses but I don't even know what I am capable of. I began to breathe in and exhale.
"Okay, first days are always stressful. I just got to keep to myself, for now, try not to draw too much attention to myself. Hopefully, I can get this done and over with so I can go back home to my parents."
I opened the door and everyone's attention was immediately on me. I just ignored the glares and walked up to the teacher showing him my schedule.
"Ah, so you're the foreign student from America. Well, Mr. L/N, I'm your homeroom teacher Aikuro Mikisugi."
AIKURŌ MIKISUGI
"I hope I'm not going crazy because I just saw those words right in my face. Well, stranger things have happened. Considering I'm not a human, but I still act like I am human."
As soon as my thought process was over the teacher was pointing to an empty desk.
"Your seat will be next to Mankanshoku, Mr. L/N."
With the uniform policy going on here it looks pretty dull in here, only two people in the class stood. One looked like a trouble maker and the other doesn't look so bright in the upstairs department. Which gave me the feeling of keeping clear of those two. I went over to my desk and well that Mankanshoku girl was looking at me. Her eyes were glistening as I was the object of interest in her eyes.
"Hello..."
I said in a more confused but friendly tone, she just smiled at me until she finally decided to speak up.
"You're American, I've never met an American before! What's it like there?! Why are you so buff?! Is it true there is a lot of fat people there?!"
The questions were just flowing out of her mouth like Niagara Falls, but I decided to answer all of hers.
"Well, I live in a quiet home so not much action happens. If I lived in Gotham then crime would've been a problem for my family. I work out every day to attain good health, I lift weights every day to attain a body like this. The fat part is sort of true but that's only because some people choose to live an unhealthy lifestyle or medication could also do that. I think if people in America ate more fruits and vegetables, lower their meat consumption not many people would be fat, but they also have to keep a good exercise regiment."
"Interesting! Since we're desk mates my name is Mako Mankanshoku!"
MAKO MANKANSHOKU
She smiled intently at me but the girl next to her just looked at me with a confusing look. I noticed the red streak in her hair and it looked like she was new as well.
"Can I help you?"
I asked her a question and she just scowled at me.
"Something about you ain't right, I bet you're up to something."
That girl was quick to judge me even though she is right. I am lying about that whole excise thing, I eat junk food like crazy and I still look like a bodybuilder. But I have no clue why my body is like this. I just learned I wasn't a human yesterday.
"Um okay, that's your opinion I guess."
I just wanted to keep to myself here, so then I just paid attention in class. Mako pulled out her lunch then began eating it until there was nothing left. All of a sudden she fell right to sleep.
"That girl is so weird."
"She's already asleep!"
That girl looked confused but then she looked at me again like I did something. This girl obviously has issues if she is staring at me like that, I did nothing wrong but to her, it seems like I did something.
"It would be nice if you didn't stare at me like I'm some zoo exhibit. I don't know you and I can tell you don't like me, so if you have a problem with me then can you leave me alone?"
I tried to be as nice as possible to not start something and which she listened to what I said. That was very fortunate for me because it was really bugging me. The class went by pretty quickly, which was even better to get this day done with. I noticed the girl leave and Mako sprang up like she won the lottery.
"Hold on Ryuko! Wait for me!"
RYUKO MATOI
Mako began running after Ryuko. I had a very confused expression upon my face, I knew this school was just gonna be weird.
"Like I said before she is weird as hell. This school is dumb, why'd it have to be this place out of all the schools in Japan?"
I walked out of the classroom with all my stuff and began walking down the halls. Attention was on me, people knew I wasn't a native here but I'm glad I'm not from this town. Suddenly I saw that Ryuko girl walking down the hall and Mako tried lunging at her, but she dodged. I just walked past and Mako noticed me trying to get as far from them as possible.
"Y/N!"
Mako yelled out for me and I froze in my tracks.
"C-C-C-Crap! Yes, Mako?"
I slowly turned around to see Mako and Ryuko. They both walked up to me and I was not trying to be mean here but I didn't want to hold a conversation with them.
"Well I know you're new here and you don't have any friends yet. I was wondering if you want to be friends with us? After all, we are deskmates."
Mako smiled at me but Ryuko did not trust me at all but since I don't have friends here, I guess I could be friends with them.
"Sure we can be friends..."
Mako hugged me which was not bad but I wasn't expecting that at all.
"Yay, I got two new best friends!"
Mako was overjoyed to have me and Ryuko as her friends, but I think we are her only friends. Once Mako let go of me I started to walk down some stairs and the two of them followed me. They began talking about their own thing until I saw people bowing.
"Why the hell is everyone bowing?"
Mako quickly tried to make me and Ryuko now to which I bow, but Ryuko just squats down. We all saw a buff man walk down the stairs acting all tough.
"He doesn't look that tough, why do people fear, also have to bow here? Well, I can find out about this place while at the same time making I don't blowing my cover. I want to keep my life quiet."
I kept bowing for now until this was all over, but I began to overhear Mako and Ryuko talking about him.
"Is he some kind of big shot?"
Ryuko was confused about who that was. Mako saw me looking at them so she decided to explain who is that guy.
"Yeah! He is a Three-Star! He's the Disciplinary Committee Chair Ira Gamagoori. He is one of the Four Elites of the student council!"
IRA GAMAGOORI
I and Ryuko had a puzzling look upon our faces, to which, Mako knew that we didn't understand the pecking order here.
"Four Elites? Three-Star? Is this some sort of ranking system? This is literally a military school."
"Compared to us No-Star commoner students, he's a super-elite who's three whole ranks above us! 'No-Stars'. Our school uniforms have amazing powers, and it's incredible when you wear one. They give you superhuman power. They're called Goku Uniforms and they run from One-Star to Three-Star. Student Council President Satsuki Kiryuin bestows Goku Uniforms based on a student's abilities. Long story short, they're awesome! Got all that?"
STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT SATSUKI KIRYUIN
That was quite an explanation about these Goku Uniforms but I have never heard of them.
"Goku Uniforms, huh? That sounds very interesting."
What I have just heard could be very dangerous to the outside if, if common criminals get their hands on these Goku Uniforms.
"So in other words, the top dog here is that Student Council President?"
Mako nodded in agreement with her.
"Right! Ah, speak of the devil! That's Lady Satsuki there!"
We all see a woman holding a blade in her hand, she was walking down like she was the most important person in the world. But suddenly Ryuko blocked her path but this doesn't even bother Satsuki.
"What the hell is she doing?! Oh my god, she is quick to jump the gun."
Everyone looked in shocked at Ryuko who just stood up to the student council president. By the looks of it, people who have stood up against Satsuki Kiryuin were punished.
"So, I hear you're the queen bee in this school. I have a question for you."
This enraged some of the students as they tried to tackle Ryuko. But, Ryuko just knocks the one-star students away and she pulls out a big red scissor blade, well half of one. Everyone was shocked to see this kind of blade as it was not some kind of blade commonly made.
"A scissor blade?"
The design was quite different from any normal scissor.
"It's a huge scissor!"
Mako looked in awe at the blade.
"That's right. This is half of a giant pair of scissors. I'm looking for the owner of the other half. Prez, I noticed that you were shocked to see this just now."
Ryuko points the tip of the blade in Satsuki's direction but she was unamused by Ryuko.
"And what if I have?"
This angered Ryuko due to the ways he answered the question.
"The way she said that you're the Woman with the Scissor Blade, aren't you?!"
TO BE CONTINUED...
