Wish We Could Turn Back Time
Meiko, Izumo, and Kotetsu were sitting in their seats, chatting about random things when a woman with long brown hair that was tied up in a ponytail on top of her head, and dark brown eyes walked into the room. "Team 10!" She called out, and the three best friends stood up and walked over to her.
The woman smiled at them, quickly scanning her eyes over all of them. "Hello, are you team 10?" She asked, and they all nodded.
"Hai!" They said in sync, and their sensei just smiled slightly before she nodded her head.
"Let's head up to the top of the building, there we can discuss ourselves and get to know everyone." She said, and they all walked out of the room and up to the top of the building, Meiko and the boys playfully shoving each other to get to the front of line as they walked. Looking at Meiko now, you wouldn't have thought that what happened this morning actually happened, minus the few rips in her dress, she seemed perfectly sane.
They arrived at the top of the building, and the three students took a seat across from their sensei, who was a fairly beautiful woman. As the students previously saw, she had brown hair and brown eyes, but her skin was a very pale shade a lot like Meiko's, and she had a few scars on her arms, but other than that she seemed like a very normal shinobi.
"Hello, Team 10!" The sensei said with a very cheery attitude. "My name is Kumiko Shimura, and I will be your sensei. I figured that we could all get to know each other a little better? Get to know each other's names, things we like, things we don't, strengthens, weaknesses, goals and dreams for the future?"
"Hai, Sensei!" The best friends said in sync and she just laughed slightly before she started. "I'll start, as I said my name is Kumiko Shimura, I love Dango and Ramen, I hate the dark, my strengths are earth style, and my weaknesses are very few. My goals and dreams for the future, well, I frankly don't feel like telling you." She said with another laugh, and Meiko raised her eyebrow at her slightly before leaning her head against Kotesu.
Izumo was the next one to talk. "My name is Izumo Kamizuki. I like Meiko and Kotetsu, I dislike annoying people. My strengths are teamwork and water nature jutsu's! My weaknesses are fire nature attacks, and worrying about my best friends. My dreams and goals for the future are to work beside of Meiko and Kotetsu as great shinobi of Konoha!" He said with a small smile, patting Meiko back slightly.
Next was Meiko. "My name is Meiko Sarutobi! I like Kotetsu and Izumo." She said, pointing her thumbs towards her best friends. "We've been friends since Izumo stepped on my lunch during the first couple days of the academy! I dislike annoying people. My strengths are Fire nature and Wind Nature jutsu's, along with swords! My weaknesses are Genjutsu. My goals are to be a great shinobi, and my dreams for the future are to protect my best friends and Konoha with my life!" She said happily, nodding her head quickly.
"My name is Kotetsu Hagane! I like these two losers." He said, throwing his thumb towards his two best friends. "I dislike a lot of things. My strengths are Yin Release chakra nature, and fighting with weapons. My weaknesses are ninjutsu. My dreams and goals for the future are the same as theirs." He said, nodding their head and their sensei laughed at them slightly.
"I'm lucky to have gotten a team of people who already know each other and get along." She said, scratching her head slightly. "Have you guys already practice in teamwork then?" She asked.
Meiko glanced over at Izumo, then at Kotestu before she nodded her head. "We do a lot of teamwork." She said, and Kumiko smiled brightly.
"Thank goodness! Teamwork is typically the hardest subject for genin to grasp, so I'm fairly lucky I got you guys." She said with a cheerful nod of her head. Meiko and the boys all nodded their heads. "Well, that's all we have for today. Tomorrow we have a training exercise at the training grounds closes to the Hokage's building, it starts at 7 in the morning, and please, for the love of Kami, eat before you come." She said, and they all nodded their head before they stood up and looked at their sensei.
"Dismissed." She chuckled slightly and they all jumped away, heading towards Meiko's house. They traveled in silence until they got in her house, and into her room.
Meiko plopped herself down on her bed, throwing her legs along the fabric of her covers. A long sigh escaped her lips, blowing a piece of her dark brown hair out of her eyes. She glanced over at her best friends as they sat down on the end of her bed, their legs crossed and their backs placed against the wall.
"What happened this morning, Meiko?" Izumo asked, and she sighed heavily.
"She's getting worse." She said, pointing to her head. "She was telling me how worthless I was earlier. And fat, and useless, and that none of you actually cared about me." She mumbled, her eyes fluttering shut. "No matter how many times I tried to yell at her to stop, I couldn't stop it. She got louder and louder until I couldn't even talk back..."
"You do know that she's wrong about all of that right?" Kotetsu said, and Meiko glanced down at hands, not replying.
Izumo sighed heavily as he grabbed her shoulder with one hand, and placed the other on her face to force her to look at him. "You are none of those things, Meiko. You are a beautiful, intelligent, funny, useful girl that we both love very much. Without you, both of would probably be gone. You help us through everything, and I do know what we would do without." He said softly, and Meiko sat up for a minute, before she fell against Izumo's shoulder and began to sob quietly.
"I-I just want it to stop.." She muttered against her best friends shoulder, Kotetsu hand placed on the small of back, rubbing it slowly.
"It's okay.. It'll stop one day." Kotetsu said softly, and Meiko just continued to cry into Izumo's shoulder, hoping and praying that they were right.

It was a few hours later, both Izumo and Kotetsu had left earlier and all of them had agreed that it was just good for them to stay in for tonight since they had to get up early for their training exercise with Kumiko.
Meiko was laying on her bed when she heard a gentle knock on the door. The knocker didn't bother to wait for a response, and just walked in. Meiko glanced over to see her brother shutting her bedroom door behind him before he came over and sat down beside her.
"Meiko, what happened today?" He asked, and she shrugged her shoulders. She didn't want to tell him, he would think she was crazy, and he would tell their parents and they would think she was crazy too.
"Nothing." She replied, and Asuma gave her that 'Are-you-kidding-me?' look of his, causing her to sigh softly.
"That wasn't nothing. You need to tell me, Meiko. Please." He said softly, and she shook her head.
"Asuma, it wasn't anything. I'm okay." She lied, and Asuma knew she was lying.
"Do you know how scared I was earlier? I thought something bad happened to you, and I thought I might never see you again. And then to see you the way that Kakashi brought you back? Meiko it was terrifying." Asuma said. "Please, just tell me what happened." He begged.
She glanced down at her hands and begin to lightly play with them, rubbing them up and down her thighs. "Promise you won't think I'm crazy." She mumbled under her breath, and Asuma nodded his head quickly.
"I promise."
Meiko took a deep breath before she sat up on her legs, her eyes staring into her brothers. "I have a voice in my head." She said, and Asuma's eyes widened slightly. Meiko scoffed and rolled her eyes. "See I knew it, you're going to think I'm crazy." She said.
Asuma shook his head quickly, staring at his sister. "No, no! That not it! It's just, I had no idea." He said.
"Of course you didn't." She said. "I've been keeping it a secret for two years now." She scratched the back of her head slightly before she started to explain. "It started out with little things, like calling me a loser, and fat, things along those lines and I could always push it down and it never bothered me. But it's gotten progressively... worse? I think that's the word I'm going for here. The voice has gotten to the point that it's told me to... it's told me to kills myself. It tells me that everyone I love it against me, and that I'll never be the shinobi that I want to be." She whispered, small years running down her face as she looked at her brother, her brother having the expressions of worry and surprised on his face.
"Meiko... why did you never tell?" She asked, and she shrugged her shoulders slightly.
"I didn't want you to think that's I'm crazy, because I'm not. Even though I feel it a lot of time.." She mumbled, and to her surprise, her brother wrapped his arms around her tightly and held her close to him. He rocked them side to side slowly, kissing the top of her head multiple times.
"Meiko..." He mumbled after a few minutes. "I could never think that you are crazy, especially for something that you cannot help." He said softly, running his hand up and down her arm slowly, continuing to rock them from side to side.
"But... I feel so crazy. It's only getting worse Asuma. She's so mean.." She said softly, and Asuma nodded slightly.
"I know, princess." He said, calling her a nickname that he used to call her when she was a lot younger, he hadn't called her 'princess.' in nearly five years. "But I promise, I'm here for you now. Anytime that happens, you come find me and we will do something to help it, okay?" He said, and she nodded her head slowly, her eyes fluttering shut as more tears threatened to escape her eyes. Asuma held his sister for about another hour before she pulled back from him.
"I love you, Aussie." She said, also bringing back his old nickname.
"I love you too, princess." He said with a closed eye grin. "Are you going to be okay for the night or do you want me to stay in here with you tonight?" He asked.
Meiko just smiled at him, shaking her head slightly. "I'll be okay, I promise." She said, kissing her brothers cheek gently. "I promise if anything happens, I'll come get you, okay?"
Asuma was slightly uneasy about this idea, but he nodded his head and reluctantly agreed. "Fine." He said softly, kissing her head gently before he stood up and walk back to his room. Meiko watched her brother leave the room before she got up, and walked over to her window to close it for the night, since she was not leaving.
As she got to the window and was about to close it, a small piece of paper flew into her window. She tilted her head to the side slightly, cocking up one eyebrow as she bent down and grabbed the piece of paper off the ground. Her fingers played with the gentle piece of white paper, twirling it around her fingers before she peeled it apart, her eyes wondering over the very sloppy handwriting on the paper.
'You now owe me, number 2.' was all the paper said, but it was enough to frighten Meiko. She slammed her window shut, and made her way back to her bed. She sat down on the bed and placed the note from the mystery person in the drawer with the rest of them.
She sighed heavily and laid down under the blankets, soon falling to sleep with only one thought on her mind.
Who the hell was sending her all of these notes?
