War
Tw: blood, violence
C o l e
It was far too early in the morning but I didn't really have time to complain as I was ushered by Eros to get myself ready. Eros had apparently addressed a note to Adler offering him a chance, the chance to apologize for his wrong doings, return whatever he extorted from other groups, and disband the Silver Fangs quietly.
It was really hard for me to believe that Eros was a mafia boss, he was acting like a peacemaker of some sorts. But in order to keep up his good looks with other groups, I guess this was a route to go as well, not everything had to end up in violence.
But specifically because these were the Silver Fangs, this definitely won't go down without a fight.
Eros had gathered all of the men he was bringing as well as me and the others in the garage of the condominium to give one last instruction before we left.
"Now, as you're all aware, these men do not like to play fair. If there is any kind of short cut or underhanded method to get out of this, they will not hesitate to take it so please be on your best guard. For those of you on backup, make sure that you're completely alone, I don't want what happened last time to happen again. I want all of us to leave out of this victorious and most important, alive. Keep an eye out for the signal and stay safe"
Everyone either nodded or gave a verbal word of understanding before dispersing to their respective vehicles, leaving Eros and the four of us behind.
"I hope this is the last time we have to do this kind of shit, I'm so tired of these guys" Harvey said with a sigh at the end of his sentence.
"We all are, which is why I fully intend to end it all today by whatever means necessary" Eros said, a deadly look in his eyes.
"Well, it's almost time. We should get going" Mikhail said and we all got in our assigned cars.
As always, I rode with Eros.
I shifted in my seat, not really feeling comfy with the amount of pressure on my chest right now. This bullet proof vest made the seatbelt feel like a constrictor and I sighed. I liked loose clothing better, it had much more breathing room, this was just restricting and annoying.
Eros was unusually silent the entire ride which made me think he was just brainstorming. Eros never really relaxed, I had learned that in our time being roommates. He was always thinking of something, even when it was early in the morning and he was enjoying his cup of coffee. They say humans hardly ever use more than 10% of their brain's capacity but if you ask me, Eros uses more than that every single day.
There was a lot of things I was learning about Eros, just through observation alone. For instance, the man didn't have a proper sleep schedule, well neither do I but his is bad. He doesn't sleep for more than 6 hours and often times, he falls asleep while doing work so I usually end up cleaning up for him and telling him to take his ass to bed. But yet he can still be fully functional thanks to his morning coffee.
He's sort of bad at taking care of himself in a way but he was a stickler for dental health, he never forgets to brush his teeth twice a day and maybe even three times if he feels he really needs it.
Why am I even thinking about this right now? Sighing, I shoved the thoughts out of my mind and turned my attention out the window, the scenery blurring by us.
When we arrived at the Silver Fangs manor, I couldn't help but be in awe. It was very beautiful, the exterior being completely white and it's front was covered in flowers with a fountain in front. The manor was about three stories high but had many rooms from what I could see, meaning a lot of people probably lived there.
"I'm surprised they're still able to afford this place when they're bankrupt" Eros said and I looked at him in confusion.
"They're bankrupt?" I asked and Eros nodded.
"That has to be the only reason why they're extorting others, they just can't make the funds on their own. They've shown themselves to be very reckless business partners and I guess in a way I'm glad Francis didn't have intentions to ask us to be theirs. I was willing to listen and maybe even give them a chance but Eloise was right from the very beginning. They just can't be trusted" Eros finished with an annoyed look on his face.
This was also another thing about Eros I've noticed, he listens before he does things even if he is impatient at times. He's always willing to talk things out rather than resorting to forceful means, it was admirable really. But if others don't agree with the talking phase, Eros was always more than happy to deal out some bullets.
After getting out of our cars, we were barely even able to take a step up to the house when Adler's men stopped us with their guns aimed at us, Adler being in the very middle.
"That's far enough" he said.
"Punk bitches" Harvey grumbled.
"Adler?" Eros questioned, not surprised but rather unhappy with the way this was already starting off.
"You're clearly outnumbered here so how about you just hand Cole Limosa over and this can all end peacefully" Adler said.
Outnumbered? They were clearly the ones outnumbered, it even looks like they've lost some men from the last time we've seen them.
I still can't believe that my family asked people like this to retrieve me, it just showed how lazy they were. If they really wanted me back, they would come and get me themselves. Well, there's no way in hell I was going back anyways so violence has quickly and unfortunately become the only solution at this point.
"Adler, I've already told you, I'll only pull back from this under the conditions I've set up. Handing Cole over is not one of them and never will be" Eros stated, crossing his arms as he gave a sharp glare to Adler.
The few times I get to see Eros serious are always kind of overwhelming, it's so unusual but the power he has in just his aura alone is amazing. I knew Adler was faltering in his approach as well as he was now under Eros' dangerous glare.
At this point, he looked desperate.
"So you think I'm just going to agree to a deal that leaves me with nothing?" He yelled but Eros was unfazed.
"Yes, you brought this upon yourself after all. Maybe if you cared a little more about how you handled your business and the respect between clients, than you'd have more groups open to buying and trading with you. The only one to blame here is yourself" Eros said.
"Screw you" Adler growled.
Eros smiled.
"I'm saving myself thank you very much" he said and that seemed to be the final straw for Adler as he brandished his gun.
And thus the war began.
Pulling my gun out, I shot at some of the men up on some of the balconies and they dropped like flies and right on to their friends down below.
I quickly took cover behind our car and fired when I could, managing to get a few shots on some but for the most part, I had to stay covered.
Looking at the rear view mirror on the car, I saw a man coming up on me and I quickly checked my clip but it was empty. Cursing, I grabbed my knife from my waistband before rolling under the car. When I saw his feet come on my side, I stabbed it and when he fell I rolled out before quickly stabbing my knife in his throat. I grimaced when his blood spilled on my hands and just wiped it off on my shirt.
My white shirt....
"Cole!" Eros called my name and I turned to him.
"Get in the car" he shouted and I was confused. Why did he want me to get in the car?
"It's bulletproof, you can ram it right into the entrance. It'll give us some advantage" he explained. Nodding, I caught the keys he tossed me and pushed the dead guy out of the way before clambering in the driver's seat.
True to Eros' word, the bullets were bouncing off the car like it was nothing and I put the keys in the ignition. The car roared to life and I prayed our members would just move out the way as they saw me coming because swerving safely was just not within my abilities.
Why do I have to be the one to do it? Oh yeah, because Eros was the only one with a bullet proof car...
"Get out of the way!" I heard the muffled sounds of Adler's men yelling as I closed in on them and the crash from me ramming through the door was also muffled. I had shut my eyes in the last few seconds and when I opened them, I noticed there was a man on the floor, who I had clearly hit.
The man was Francis.
Whoops.
Getting out of the car, debris fell on me a little and I wiped it off. The entrance was completely ruined and I could see from inside that our guys were gaining the upper hand as they pushed in on Adler's men.
"Y-You're...fucking...crazy" Francis wheezed and I just looked at him.
"Wasn't my idea" I said. I refrained from doing anything further to him since 1) he likely couldn't walk after that and 2) Eros was the one who wanted his head. The sound of gunfire slowly started to cease so I walked to the ruined entrance and saw Adler's men laid out with Adler himself nowhere to be seen. A few of ours had also unfortunately been hit as well.
Some of Adler's men had surrendered with their guns on the ground and after a moment of looking around, my eyes landed on Eros and saw that he was already looking at me, the look on his face practically asking me if everything was alright.
I just put a thumbs up but as I did a loud bang filled my ears and a pain in my back occurred.
What the...?
