With that he left.
Left her crying on the floor, confused. What has happened?
Who is this man and who does he think he is? She wasn't his toy and she was not going to act like one either.
But with the fear he put in her, she had no choice. And punishments for not being a good girl? What did he mean by that?
Something was telling her that she didn't want to know.
Marinette picked herself up and looked around. She still had a lot to unpack. She sighed and wiped her tears, then started working even though her hands were shaking.
She felt like she just lost something precious to her. Well maybe she did. Maybe she just lost her freedom.
There went thought of ever having a normal boyfriend or even a normal life.
Who was this Chat Noir and why did he choose her? Why her?
She bursted into tears and collapsed to the floor.
Maybe she should visit her parents. They always knew how to cheer her up.
She took a deep breath, before changing her clothes into white shorts and a loose t-shirt. She sighed as she wrapped her jacket around her waist. Then she wiped off all her make-up and just applied mascara.
She decided not to cry anymore. She nodded to her reflection in the mirror, then locked the door with the key he left her.
She put it in her pocket on her shorts and slowly started walking towards her parents' bakery.
"Hey maman, papa!" she faked her smile.
"Mari, dear," Sabine greeted her. "But your shift doesn't start 'til three,"
Marinette shrugged. She totally forgot that she had a shift. Oops?
"I just wanted to come early and help you out if you needed it," she lied.
"Oh thank you, Mari, but we have everything under control," Tom smiled and hugged her daughter. "I think we can manage without you here for one day. Go out and enjoy day with your friends,"
Marinette's mouth curved in letter 'O' as she nodded. "Okay, thanks, maman and papa,"
"See you around, Mari," Sabine kissed her daughter's forehead.
Marinette with that left the bakery, leaving her in worse mood than she already was in.
She put her hands in her pockets and sighed. How could her life turned around this way?
She shook her head as she bumped into someone again. Before she could feel the hard ground below her, a strong hand pulled her back up.
"Woah, Mari, we really need to stop meeting like this," she recognized the voice right away.
"Oh, F-Felix," she smiled at him.
"How are you?" he asked. Was she supposed to run away from him? Was Chat Noir watching?
Was she even allowed to speak to another person opposite gender or not?
"I'm fine and you?" she answered.
"I'm okay, I guess," he shrugged.
"I was just on my way to grab some ice cream. Care to join me?" Felix turned a little red.
Did her crush just ask her out?
"I'd love to," she completely forgot about Chat Noir. She was lucky that he wasn't watching her.
For now.
They talked about random stuff as they walked towards the ice cream shop. When they ordered, they sat down on chairs near there and started talking.
Marinette knew a lot about Felix herself, but she didn't want to look like a stalker.
"So have any brothers or sisters?" she asked.
If Felix was honest, he liked that this girl didn't know a lot about him. But the question hurt him like hell.
His face saddened and he bit his lip. Marinette realized her mistake and started apologizing immediately.
"No, don't worry, it's just everyone knows I don't have brothers or sisters, so the question never comes up," Felix strugged.
"Then if you don't mind me asking, why did it hurt you?" Marinette became curious.
"Promise you won't tell anyone?"
"I promise on my life," she smiled.
"I had a brother once. And he got kidnapped," Felix explained as quickly as possible.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Marinette touched his shoulder for comfort. He smiled at her.
"I was only five at that time, but I still remember being thrown in a wall by kidnappers. They took him right out of my mother's arms and they knocked out my father," he sighed. "It was hard to watch how they took a baby, who was a newborn. If I'm honest, I think they were to take me, but I think taking a baby was easier,"
"Felix, you don't have to," she said.
"Why do I feel like I can trust you, Marinette?" he asked her, clearly tears were in his eyes.
"Because you can, Felix. We might know each other for like half an hour, but I'm a trustworthy person," she smiled at him.
"I know he's still alive. Even if my father doesn't think so. I know Adrien is still alive,"
"And I know, you will find him, wherever he is,"
"Thank you, Marinette,"
And that's when something knocked her out.
