For the next few hours, Maddy drifted in and out of conscious. When Maddy finally opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was vivid green eyes. Moving on instinct, she threw a feeble punch at the owner of those green eyes. Maddy was still groggy from being knocked out, but her eyes were quickly coming into focus. Along with her was a girl of about her age sitting in truck. The girl easily dodged it and smiled slightly as if she was amused. This irritated Maddy.

"What are you staring at me for? I am not some animal in a zoo." Maddy snapped at her, glaring.

"No, you are a human. Interesting."

"And you are a werewolf I suppose?" Maddy asked skeptically.

"Yeah. I am Alexa. I would shake your hand but as you can see my hands are preoccupied."

That's when Maddy noticed that the girl's hands were tied behind her back. Maddy immediately knew that she wasn't part of the group pf kidnappers but was the victim. Maddy's shoulders relaxed and using the help of the side of the truck, she sat up and faced Alexa properly.

"I'm Madison. You were taken by those werewolves too?" On seeing Alexa's nod, she continued, "So, do you have any idea why they kidnapped us?"

Alexa thought for some time and then replied, "I am the Alpha's daughter. An Alpha is-"

"I know what an Alpha is," Maddy interrupted. Of course, she knew all about werewolves. After all, she was writing a story about werewolves. Now, all she had to do was separate the myths from reality.

Immediately, Alexa's guard was up. "How do you know about werewolves?"

"I am writing a story on werewolves. That's why. Nothing special."

Alexa studied her for a minute or two and then continued, "As I was saying I am the Alpha's daughter. I suppose that's why I've been taken, but I don't know why you were kidnapped. Maybe because of the story you are writing? I don't really know. Don't worry. My parents will be coming to rescue us."

If Maddy wasn't friends with Leia, she might have thought that Alexa was a spoilt girl since her parents were the leaders of the pack, but from spending time with Leia, she had learnt that being rich doesn't mean that you are spoilt. Instead, she asked, "You want to wait for your parents? I feel the two of us could take on the three werewolves if we plan carefully."

Alexa immediately grinned with a glint in her eye. "I like you already. Most humans would be cowering in the corner and waiting for their Prince Charming."

Maddy snorted at that description. "Seems like you haven't met a lot of humans."

Maddy looked around. She didn't know what time of the day it was or how long it had been since she had been kidnapped since the they were in the back of the truck and it was closed from all sides. She asked Alexa about it.

"It's been about an hour since I've been stuck here, so I'd say about 11 in the morning?"

Maddy nodded quickly thinking. "We could try to escape during lunch time. The red-haired guy is going to come and give us the lunch."

Maddy quickly told Alexa her plan.

"You are good at strategizing." Alexa remarked after Maddy finished.

"That's what happens when you read and write a lot of books." Maddy replied, grinning.

"We have a lot of time left for lunch...what do we do?"

Maddy looked at her hopefully and replied, "You could tell me all you know about werewolves."

"This is going to be a loooooong story." Alexa said, clearing her throat dramatically.

"So, there was this king Lycaon. He was the king of Arcadia. The Greek Gods were alive a long time ago, by the way. Zeus was the king of all gods and he was said to be all-knowing. Lycaon didn't believe that so he killed one of his sons, Nyctimus and served the Nyctimus' roasted flesh to Zeus in order to see whether Zeus was truly all-knowing. Not exactly the best father of the year.

When Zeus found out he cursed the earth with Deucalion's flood. Lycaon himself, was turned into a wolf. Since all the wolves are sacred to Artemis, the moon goddess, Lycaon went to her and pleaded her. Artemis she couldn't turn her back on him. She blessed Lycaon and he became a hybrid of a man and wolf. That's how the first werewolf came to be. All werewolves are his descendants.

Normally, our human side is more dominant and hence we usually stay in our human form, but at certain times like during the full moon, especially during the evenings and night, our wolves are more dominant. That is because Artemis is the goddess of the moon and one of her sacred animals is a wolf. Also, an Alpha's wolf is more dominant than the average werewolf's."

Maddy was fascinated by all the facts. It was true that Artemis was the goddess of the moon. Reading Percy Jackson made her remember a lot of Greek Mythology. The story was beautiful and it could help her in writing the story. The myths were slightly different from what Alexa told me and Maddy wanted to make it more realistic. Maddy also wanted to add a bit of a personal touch. She could probably have the main character getting kidnapped like her, or something

"Which pack are you part of?" Maddy asked curiously.

"Most packs are named after the various moons of Jupiter. Jupiter is basically the Roman version of Zeus. Even though North America is huge, there are only three main packs. Werewolves are smaller in number as compared to humans, so we like to stay together. My pack is around California and is called The Amalthea Pack. Then there is The Callisto Pack which is around New York. The last pack is called The Megaclite pack which is around Mexico and the lower region."

Maddy's eyes widened. "I'm in California?"

Alexa nodded, confused.

Maddy's head started spinning. She was about 3000 km away from home! The kidnappers had taken her all the way from New York to California. There was no chance of her mom or Leia ever finding her. And how was she going to go back home? She had no money with her. They had taken her phone away as well. The reality of the situation started to sink in. She was stranded in California without any way of communication. She buried her hands in her head and groaned. She felt someone nudge her. Looking up she saw it was Alexa.

"Hey, it's going to be fine. My parents are rich. Perks of being an Alpha. We'll help you go back home and pay for the tickets. Afterall, you were involuntarily dragged into the werewolf world. You don't need to freak out. I-"

Before Alexa could even finish, Maddy hugged her. It felt like a huge burden was lifted off her shoulders. Maddy and Alexa had just met, yet Alexa had offered to help her get back.

"So, tell me about the werewolf story that you are writing. I have got a weird addiction to werewolf stories. It's hilarious reading the different stories, when they've got all the facts wrong," Alexa said smirking when she told the last sentence.

Maddy's eyes lit up with excitement. Whenever someone asked about her story, she always got excited and started talking more than necessary.

"Well, the main character's name is Matt and he is a werewolf. His best friends, Kyle and-"

Alexa's eyes widened and Maddy stopped abruptly, confused by her reaction.

"Wait. You are Just.one.more.chapter?"

Maddy nodded. That was the name of her account on Wattpad. But how did Alexa now that?

"For real?" Alexa asked, excitedly.

Maddy nodded once again, still confused.

Alexa squealed. "Oh. my. gods. I can't believe it. I wish my hands were untied. I would have definitely hugged you. I absolutely love your writing. Wait till my brother finds out that I have met you."

Maddy smiled from ear to ear. She was officially meeting one of her fans. Maybe being kidnapped wasn't so bad after all!

Then Alexa cleared her throat and said, "Maybe I should reintroduce myself. I am Alexa, Xander's twin sister."
