" After he left, you know how much I was angry, so I decided that if I joined the mafia I could keep you and mom safe, from people like him. I know that he tried to kill you when you were 17 " He said. He was never supposed to know " Sting, who told you? " I asked. " I saw it " He said. I put my hand on his cheek. " Sting, you don't have to take care of me. I'm your older sister, I take care of you, not the other way around " I said.
" You work yourself to hard, you barely even get any sleep at all, and you have to take care of two people and a dog. I don't want you to stress yourself out, didn't mom tell you that stress causes wrinkles. " He said. I laugh. " Sting you don't have to worry about me, I can handle myself, I'm a grown woman and I don't need my baby brother looking out for me. " I said. " I'm sorry " He told me. We hugged. We talked and reminisced about all the good times. Then I heard a gun shot. Natsu screamed for me.
" Luce!! " I heard. I covered my eyes. But nothing happened. I checked my body for bullet wounds. Nothing there. I turn to natsu he is fine. Then I looked down and I saw a pool of blood spreading under my feet. " Who- " I looked down and i saw blonde spikey hair. No no no no no no this can't be happening, it can't. I get a better look and I see the scar on his right eyebrow. " NOOOOO STING!!! " I cry out. Tears filled my eyes. I walk around his body and sit on my knees. " Sting... " I whisper. He put his hand on my hand " Don't... Die..... You have to take care of mom... " He said weakly. " Sting don't say that, your gonna stay alive to. " I sobbed. " There is...no hospital within a 100... Mile radius.... And I won't make it " He said. I was still crying. " Tell mom I love her. " He said. " You.... You can t-tell her yourself. " I said. " No... Sis, I love you, thank you " His words fade.
" Baby bro!! " I scream. Then someone pulls me away. I don't see anything but sting. On the ride back not one word was said. I couldn't get the image of sting in the pool of blood, his last words, his voice fading away as he said his last words. I don't know who shot him. And I don't really card now. I just wish I could still hold my baby brother in my arms. When we got back. I just stayed in my room. I didn't say anything or do anything. I didn't even leave to eat. And I had my own bathroom so I didn't need to leave my room for that either. Natsu came in the room. He put a bowl of yoghurt on the bedside table. Then he sat down on my bed. " How'd you know? " I asked. " I did a background check " He said. I didn't say anything after that. " You gotta eat something Luce " He said. " I can't, I'll throw up " I told him. " Why? " He asked. " I just can't " I told him. I didn't want to eat at all. I want to go to bed. But whenever I closed my eyes all I see is sting in that pool of blood. I never thought that was gonna be the last time I saw him. I wonder how life would be if we didn't have problems?

Lucy imagination

I'd walk in the house from my vacation that I take every once in a while. And I'd see sting sitting on the couch watching TV eating a bowl of cereal at 2 in the afternoon.

His friends would be sitting next to him. I'd embarrass him by kissing him on the cheek. Even though he complained he'd still have missed me and gave me a hug.

Mom would be in the kitchen making lunch and I'd go help her a little before going into my dad's office to say hi. He'd hang up the phone and then lecture me about why having a boyfriend at my age is not a good thing even though I'm an adult now.

Mom always said that when I was born he said that he won't let any boy near me. And then I tell him that I am all grown up and can make my own decisions.

I'd go back out to the living room and see stings face stuffed in a bowl of Jello. I'd grab his nose and pull it up and say "you'll get sick like that" Then I'd smash his face back down. Him and his friends would laugh. Then I'd watch a football game with them

Real world

I hadn't even noticed that natsu left. I was too busy imagining things. He can back in the room with a spoon in his hand. He fed me. He really wants me to wat huh? I didn't deny it because I was actually kind of hungry. " That better Luce? " He teased. I pouted.
" You act like a little girl sometimes " He laughed. " Hmph! " I exclaimed.

My P.O.V

Lucy yawned and fell asleep, Natsu pulled the covers over her. She looked like she was sad. Her face was scrunched up. He kissed her forehead and she calmed down. " Goodnight Luce " Natsu told her before leaving the room.
