Chapter 3: Flirting
It's been about 2 weeks since Virgil started living with Roman, and by now, he had gotten used to being bit, sometimes with no warning. He also has at least gotten to know all the servants, at least a little. Even if it is just their names.
He's also gotten to know a bit about Roman, such as he likes to sing and draw.
Currently, Virgil was in the living room playing Cards Against Humanity with Remy, Patton, Joan, and Talyn. He was laughing with them when Roman came up and bit him from behind, making him squeak a little.
"Jesus Ro-" he says, tilting his head a bit and continuing to play the game. "I can't help it, you always smell so good~" Roman purrs when he pulled away. Virgil smiles and rolls his eyes.
"Maybe because I'm spicy." he says, looking at him. "Oh no, you're sweet. Sweeter than the richest honey." Roman says. "I guess that's a good thing; I wouldn't want to disappoint my prince, now would I?"
Roman chuckles and licks the blood that had dripped down Virgil's neck. "Have fun with your game, Virge." he says before walking away.
Everyone was looking at Virgil with a smug and/or surprised look. "What? It's not like that's the first time he's bitten me around you guys-" Virgil says, confused at the staring.
"You were totally flirting!" Joan says, giggling a little. Virgil blushes. "I was not-!" Remy scoffed. "Hun, he literally called you sweeter than honey, and you called him your prince. If that ain't flirting-"
Patton gasped. "You have a crush on the prince!" he says, causing Virgil to blush more. "I-i do not-!" literally everyone in the room gave him a doubtful look. "You called him ‘Ro’!" Patton says. "It's obvious, babes. You're blushing at the mere mention of his name." Remy says.
Virgil forced his blush down. "No- you can't prove I like him." he says in a challenging way. Patton smiles. "So you don't want him to hug you?"
"I-" Virgil says, trying to keep his blush down. "Or kiss you~?" Remy teased. Virgil blushes a little, looking to the side. "Well-"
"Or cuddle you~?" Talyn says, also teasing. "I-i mean-" Virgil started, blushing more. "What about if he wanted to fuck you? Would you let him?" Joan asks. Virgil's face turns bright red.
"I- I'm done playing I'm gonna go upstairs-" he says, putting his cards down and blushing brightly. "To Roman's room-" Remy teased. "Shut up--!" Virgil says, voice cracking as he walked to Roman's room.
Before he even got through the door, Roman was chuckling. Virgil walks in and closes the door, immediately hiding his face. "What happened down there?" Roman asks, smiling and quirking an eyebrow.
"Nothing-" Virgil says, again, his voice cracking. "Virgil, I don't have to be able to see your face to know how much blood has rushed to it. You're bright red and your heart is pounding." Roman says, his smile turning to a smirk.
"I-i- we- the- um-" Virgil stuttered, moving his hands from his face and looking to the side. "Mhmmmm?" Roman hums, tilting his head a little.
"I-i umm- I got teased- it's fine I'm fine-" Virgil says, looking at Roman and smiling nervously. Roman chuckles. "Would you like to watch a movie, Virgil?" he asks. Virgil took a deep breath and forced his blush to go away. "Y-yeah, sure. What movie?"
"You pick, c'mere." Roman says, patting the spot on the bed next to him. Virgil walks over and sat down next to him. Roman handed him the remote, smiling.
Virgil took the remote and browsed through Disney+. "You know, it kinda surprises me.. I mean, you're a vampire, but you live a fairly normal life. Aside from- well, being r-royal- I-" he says, blushing again.
Roman tilts his head. "Your heart started being quicker just now. Why?" Virgil went through the movies a bit slower. "N-no reason-" he says, though he was internally gay panicking.
‘I have a crush on a vampire prince-’ Virgil thought, over and over.
"Virgil, you're lucky I just fed on you. Otherwise the rate at which your heart is beating would drive me crazy." Roman says. Virgil blushes more, settling on Hercules for the movie.
"Oo, I like this one!" Roman says with a smile. Virgil smiles a little as well, leaning back and watching the movie.
Roman hummed along to the songs. Virgil smiles; he loves Roman's voice. It sounds so beautiful to him.
"What are you smiling about over there, Virge?" Roman asks, smiling a bit himself. "Oh nothing, Princey, you're just a good singer." Virgil replies, smirking a little.
"Yeah? I appreciate it- but I'm sure you're good at singing, too." Roman says, ruffling Virgil's hair. Virgil blushes a little. "Nah, I don't really sing-" he says. "That doesn't mean your not good at it." Roman says.
Virgil smiles but then thought for a moment. "Hey, Ro?" Roman hums, looking at him. "Just.. Out of curiosity- toootally didn't happen before.. What would you do if I.. Was poisoned?" Virgil asks.
Roman blinks before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. "Before I answer that, who the hell poisoned you before?" he asks. Virgil scoffed. "My mother. She forced laundry soap down my throat as a ‘punishment’ before school one time. Luckily the school was decent enough to get me to the hospital."
Roman growled a little. "I really want to kill her now. But to answer your question, if you were poisoned, I'd try to get it out of your bloodstream. If that didn't work, to be honest, I'd turn you."
Virgil looks at him. "How would turning me help? Wouldn't I still have poison in my body?" he asks. "You would, yes, but vampires can't die of poison. Humans can. We can get poisoned, but it won't kill us." Roman tells him.
"Oh.. Well now I'm curious, would you ever.. Turn me for any other reason?" Virgil asks, blushing a little. Roman actually blushed a little as well. "Yes." he answered, not going into detail.
Virgil tilted his head a little. "... Reasons to turn a human would be to expand your ‘nest’ - which the royal family doesn't need to do, to save them from dying, upon request, or to.. M-marry them." Roman tells him, blushing a little more.
"Marry them? Y-you mean vampires are allowed to do that? To marry a human?" Virgil asks. Roman nods. "If they're truly in love with the human, yes. That's why they turn them either before, during, or after the ceremony; so they can be with them forever."
"So... Once the human is turned, I don't suppose the vampire would be able to feed on them, right?" Virgil asks. "Mm, we are. Turned vampires and born vampires are different; turned vampires still have a beating heart, so long as they were alive when they were turned." Roman explains.
"Oh.. But the turned one would still have to feed too, right?" Virgil asks. "Yes. Many turned vampires still like to eat human food, but they too need to drink the blood of a human." Roman says.
‘Guess it's a good thing there's humans here.’ Virgil thought, blushing at the fact he just implied he wanted Roman to turn him, eventually.
