Chapter Two
I was set in a couch, my ankle propped up on a pillow. Eli had fetched proper bandages and quickly exchanged them, putting an ice pack on my ankle to minimize swelling.
The others looked for a way out and Eli simply sat with me.
"Were there no hints at why she did this?"
I shook my head, "I didn't even suspect her if anything. She seemed fine. Maybe I just didn't read her as well as I thought."
Eli put a gentle hand on my shoulder, smile skewed awkwardly, "hey, it's hard to tell what people are thinking. If she had this planned for awhile, you probably didn't even notice the hints. Especially if she is a psychopath."
I nodded and leaned back into the couch, closing my eyes.
Why didn't I notice?
She was my best friend.
"Hey, I think I found something!" Jay shouted. This caused Blake and Harvey to come back and see Jay enter with a letter. "It's addressed to Scott."
They all turn to me. I could feel the tension in my brows, most likely knitting together in confusion. Jay handed me the letter and I opened it, reading it aloud.
"Sorry Scott. I thought you'd be my partner in crime, but guess we aren't on the same wavelength. Can't have you telling on me, so you're stuck with them too. You know where the spare rooms are, each one is customized for the guys, they'll know which is which. You'll be released for college, but not the others. Have fun."
"What? What type of sicko is she?" Blake scoffed.
I didn't think she'd seem so... heartless. Her words felt so cold.
"There has it be a way out, somehow." I muttered helplessly. "There has to be."
"There's something written on the back," Harvey pointed out.
I quickly flipped the paper over, "if you dare try anything Scott, I'll out you to your family. I've worked too long to have this go wrong." I closed my eyes, and let out a heavy sigh,, crumpling up the paper. "This day just gets worse and worse."
"Out you? The hell does that mean?" Jay prompted.
Eli and Harvey seemed to understand what it meant, and sorta winced for me.
"It means that she'll tell my homophobic family I'm gay. It means she'll ruin my college life through countless things I've confided in her with."
"What a bitch!" Jay snapped angrily.
"What type of friend is she?" Blake muttered, angry for me.
They didn't mind? Oh thank god.
"Hey, why don't we get you to your room. We'll get you food later, alright?" Eli held his arm out, and I grabbed it, using him as support. Blake grabbed my other arm and both helped my up the stairs and I directed them to my room.
They were kind enough to get me comfortable.
"Get some rest, we'll be back soon with food. This ankle needs to heal."
"Can you grab glasses case? I need to take my contacts out if I want to rest."
"You wear contacts?" Blake muttered out.
"Yeah? Most people do?"
Eli grabbed my glasses case from the top of my suitcase, and they shied out of the room and I popped the fuckers out.
I slipped on my glasses and grabbed my Ds from my nightstand, playing some Pokémon Black and White 2.
I dozed off after half an hour of playing, making sure to put my glasses on the nightstand beforehand.
It felt like seconds passed before I startled awake, the guys walking into my room with food.
I grabbed my glasses after I startled, and sat up.
"You guys startled me."
The four snickered and made their way over. Some sat on the floor while Eli took the bed. He placed a ray on my lap with some rice, green beans , potatoes, chicken and a glass of cold water.
I genderless set the water in the nightstand. The others had the same course, apparently willing to eat with me.
So I just accepted it. "Thanks guys. You're pretty nice considering my friend is a psycho."
"It's not your fault she's a crazy bitch," Blake muttered.
I laughed a bit at that. He's right. I had no idea she'd do something like this.
"Still. I appreciate it either way. I'm curious though, how did she take you guys anyways? And Eli, why were you with them?"
Harvey shrugged, "we were in our dressing rooms one minute, in the basement the next."
"We have no idea how she did it," Jay agreed.
"and I think she grabbed me since I'm a respected doctor. If anything happens, I can take care of them," he explained. "It's still strange."
I nodded in agreement. The idea of her getting a doctor at all was weird.
Still, it was convenient for me considering she nearly broke my fucking ankle.
We all chatted for a bit and ate. Eli tan the dishes downstairs afterwards.
Everything seemed peaceful. Made me almost forget what Daisy did.
Gave me the shivers.
"Before we go, so you need help with anything? New bandages, help changing, a glass of milk, whatever?" Eli asked.
Huh?
