Chapter 8
Nico's screaming and he won't stop no matter what I try.
We got to my house at around ten last night (Neeks had fallen asleep in the car) and he started to scream around two hours ago. Oh, it's currently four in the morning and I'm kinda getting frightened that he's going to wake my mom.
I shake my head. Focus William! Nico needs you right now. I look around my room. What do I have in here that could wake him up? A book. Nah. My... guitar? No that'll wake up the whole house. I give up and just return to shaking him awake.
"Nico! I am begging you to wake up now. Please?" My voice cracks as I beg, but I ignore it. I can feel myself tearing up, but I don't care. I just want-- no need Nico to wake up. I can't stand seeing him in pain.
Luckily enough he jerks awake hitting my forehead in the process. "Ah! That hurt. You got a thick head, you know that?" As I hold my head groaning I notice Nico moving backward trying to shrink himself into the headboard while at the same he pulls my comforter over his head.
I sigh, "Nico I'm not gonna hurt you."
"O-Of course the bad guy would say that. Get the victim to trust you then- Bam! Rape 'em in 'is sleep. The victim wasn't expecting that, was he?" He shakes his head furiously. I find it amazing that this idiot is still incredibly stubborn enough to talk back.
But still, I need him to understand he's not... wherever he was, anymore. "Then how the heck do you want me to prove it?"
"You keep saying you-you're not Dylan, right?" I nod as he continues. "P-Prove it, then. T-Tell me something only my best friend know."
What the hell am I supposed to answer? He used to tell Dylan everything!
"I... am going to use the bathroom and then I'll be back."
"You're just gonna give up?" Nico pushes himself off the wall, not yet moving the comforter. "Just like that?"
"I-I'm not giving- yea. Yea, no I'm giving up." Nodding my head, I stop trying to lie. He can see right through them anyway. At least he should.
"Then who are you?" I can hear the hurt slip into my voice as I reply, but I ignore it.
"It's me. Will." Nico hesitates before jumping on me, knocking all my oxygen out.
I don't mind though. He's adorable when he's scared, though I do hate that he has a valid reason to be scared. I swear to God if I ever see Dylan's ugly ass again I'm gonna beat it.
I can hear his sobs as he buries his head deeper and deeper into my shoulder. "It's alright, Neeks. He's gone now. He can't get to you, you know that now, right?" I ask him.
He nods his head, sobs growing quiet but still shaking nonetheless. "But... but what if he does? What if he finds me?" I feel his breath grow panicky, and I hurry to calm him down.
"Nico. Nico! He's not going to find you. Just calm down and go back to sleep, ok?" Nico hesitates, clearly not believing he's safe. I sigh, "My parents are in the next room. They'll tell us if there's any danger." He nods his head, finally trusting enough to lay back down.
He doesn't fall asleep though for at least another hour. I'll pretend I don't notice for his sake.

I wake up first, the scent of waffles hitting me like a truck. I love my dad's waffles. I don't know why, but I do.
Suddenly Nico's situation comes back to mind. I have no idea what we're going to do with him. I mean we could just drop him off at his dad's and be done with it. But then again we just got him back, he may not feel comfortable yet. No, I'm sure he wants to go home. This is probably just the me that wants my crush to stay at my house talking, regardless of the situation at hand.
I glance over at him. Do I want to wake him up? He probably hasn't had anything to eat in a long while, I'd place my bets that the last he had something decent was before he was kidnapped. Then again he probably hasn't slept this good in a long while either. You idiot! Of fucking course, he hasn't had a good night sleep-
Nico rolls over on his back, rubbing his eyes before they settle on me. "Hey, I think dad ma-"
"No. Hush, pillows don't talk." He grabs my arm (the one keeping me from falling might I add) and puts it under his head.
"You're my pillow now."
I... I wouldn't mind being his pillow if I didn't have to pee so badly. Plus, I'm hungry. A groan escapes my lips as I use my free arm to try and poke him back to the land of the living.
"Stop."
"No, di Angelo. Wake your tiny ass up, I'm hungry and I really gotta pee. So, get up!" He groans before lifting himself. Thank goodness! This is my chance to esca- ow.
Nico giggles, leaning over the bed to see me encased in sheets and this stupid comforter. "It's not funny."
"Eh, it's a little bit funny," he says. I kid you not he likes seeing me in pain. Especially when he's not in a good mood, that's when he really likes seeing me in pain.
I stand, stumbling as I do so might I add, and roughly pull the sheets off of me. "There! Now," I move towards my dresser, looking for something the two of us can wear. "I'm going to go use the bathroom, and when I come back... really Neeks, try not to be sleep."
Nico frowns, catching the clothes I give him. "I'll try, but I can't exactly fit your clothes." He looks up at me, his hair falling in his face. Man, his hair grew a lot. We gotta get that cut sooner or later. I prefer later because with his hair this long... it really brings out his gorgeous chocolate- like eyes.
"-ll? Will! Hello~? You still there?" Nice one, Will. Zone out while he's talking, I'm proud of you. Truly.
"Yeah, I'm still here," I stand, groaning and stretching at the same time. "I'll be back, Neeks." I grab my towel on the way out of my room.

"Hey, dad!" I slide into a chair at the bar, smiling at my dad. He's pretty awesome, I guess. He likes to play guitar a lot. (I reckon he used to be in a band.) Plus he's a lawyer and a damned good one at that too. I honestly can't remember if he and a client ever lost before.
He puts two waffles on my plate and then passes me the whipped cream because he knows I like a shitton of whipped cream on my waffles, or on anything really. "Hey Will. Nico still up there?"
...I totally did not forget was here. "Yes. He is. I shall go and get him, now." Hehe... I run up the stairs.
Well, I feel bad now. How in the heck does one forget his kidnapped and traumatized crush/best friend is in his bedroom? Dumbass!
"Hey, Neeks you coming down for waffles anytime soon?" I open the door and walk in on him looking at my copies of the school play tickets. I got them like two days after Nico went missing when I thought he was just sick or something, so course I bought 4 tickets.
"Is it too late to at least see it...?" He asks, and my God does he look so sad already.
"Yea, it's too late. But, hey! I got a copy of the play if you wanna go watch it? Dad should have already left for work by now." It is now that I realize my waffles are cold.
Nico wraps the blanket around himself and leads the way to the living. So... I guess I'll take that as a 'yes'. I grab the DVD from my dresser and make my way downstairs, pressing play when I finally sit down.
***
There is a heavy and uncomfortable weight on the right side of my body and I have no idea why- No, I remember why now. Nico and I were watching the school play and we must've fallen asleep.
I shift his weight to my other side and he groans but doesn't wake up instead clutching me like a teddy bear.
Am I okay with this? Yes. Absolutely. 100 times yes.
Am I probably going to fall back to sleep staring at his gorgeous face? Oh, must certainly.
