Kid meets world

Cory Matthews is sitting at his desk, the same one he sat at when his daughter was in High school. The bell rings and most of the class enters. Auggie, Ava and Dewey enter last and the first thing the three do is simultaneously throw their hands up in the air and say, "Aww c'mon!"

Topanga, Cory, Auggie, Ava and Dewey are sitting at the Matthews's dining table. "Mommy, I don't like High school very much," Auggie tells Topanga.

She smiles and says, "Honey, I'm sure you'll like it once you get used to it."

Dewey says, "Could you believe that my English teacher said my name wrong even though I told her it was with a silent w! Why isn't she like Mr. Matthews, he understands what a silent w is!"

Topanga sighs a deep, deep sigh. "Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for Dad being our teacher!" Auggie complains.

"I didn't want to teach all my children you know! It's hard work. This must be Pheeney's revenge!" Cory exclaims dramatically.

Auggie mutters while staring at his food dejectedly, "Wasn't torturing Riley and Maya enough for you?"

Riley and Farkle walk in the front door hand in hand, Riley says, "You'd think so."

"Yeah Matthews, leave the poor little boy alone. Now where's Uncle Boing, I have a score to settle," says Maya as she enters through the window.

*sitcom cheering*

Cory and Topanga rush to hug the three. "I still can't believe my three babies already graduated from college!" Topanga exclaims.

Cory scolds them, "Why didn't you tell me you guys were coming over?"

"Well our plane did just land an hour ago, and we wanted to surprise you guys!" Riley explains.

"Hey, PEOPLE! Pay attention to 🎵 Ava Morgenstern 🎵! Emma what's her face was being NICE to Auggie again! I need cheese Topanga!" Ava demands.

"I told you, we're nothing!" Auggie protests.

Cory laughs and Topanga just smiles and shakes her head at the two's antics. Topanga gets cheese from the refrigerator and Ava starts shoving it into her mouth. Farkle asks, "Are they usually like this?"

Riley leaned over and whispered not so subtlety to him, "And I thought our high school years were full of drama."

Dewey just looks at them and says, "I've been through a lot. You're not anywhere near as crazy as they are."

Maya looks at Riley and asks, "Who's that?"

"That's Dewey, Auggie's friend since we were in middle school." Riley answers.

Dewey bursts out, "How many times do I have to tell people, it's with a silent w!"

Farkle opens his mouth in an attempt to protest but Topanga shushes him, "Don't, I've been trying for 10 years, it's not gonna work. Just accept it."

Farkle nods his head in defeat. "So why'd you guys come here?" Cory asks them.

"Well I mostly came here to find Uncle Boing but since he's not here, I'm gonna watch these two announce the news. Do you have any popcorn Matthews?" Maya says while leaning back in her seat.

Topanga excitedly asks, "What news?"

Riley looks at Farkle and squeals, "Farkle got a job as a chemist in the top lab in New York! I got a job too! I wanted to be a bunny farmer but as you know, there's no college course for that, so I'm a middle school history teacher in the middle school I used to attend! Yay!"

Topanga claps and says, "I am so proud of you two! What about you Maya, what's going on with your career life?"

Cory stares straight at his daughter's eyes and says, "Now you will know my pain."

"Oh nothing much, just got an exhibit on my first ever art gallery on Sunday!" Maya announces.

Everyone cheers in unison. "Why didn't you tell me this on the phone, Peaches?" Riley asks in mock hurt.

"Because honey, some news needs to be said in person like how you and Farkle got jobs in New York and are engaged." Maya explains.

Cory spits out the water he was drinking and sputters, "WHAT?!!"

"Honey calm down, you like Farkle remember? Besides, you can't stop Riley from growing up, I mean she's finished college and has a job. Why would her getting engaged be bad?" Topanga tries to calm Cory down.

He frowns and says, "Fine but you guys should be prepared, marriage is a very important step."

Ava pick this moment to butt in, "Yeah this drama is entertaining and all, but this is about Auggie and me. I believe you were complaining about something?"

Auggie replies, "Actually I'm not anymore, I'm just glad Riley's not a high school teacher. As bad a having your dad as your history teacher is, having your sister would be worse. Now let's just listen in, I wanna see what happens next."

Ava pouts, "Not that! The other thing!"

"Oh yeah, dad it's time to give me a subway card. I'm in high school already! Stop being over protective!" Auggie says.

Riley exclaims, "What?! He didn't give you one yet? He gave me one in middle school! And I thought he was overprotective to me!"

"Honey, they have a point, you can't just keep driving Auggie to school and insisting on driving Dewey and Ava with him as well." Topanga reasons.

"But-but I don't want them to grow up like those three did," he says like it was a crime to grow up while pointing a finger at Riley, Maya and Farkle.

"Cory you can't stop it from happening," Topanga adds.

Cory sighs in defeat and mutters, "Alright, I'll give it to you later."

Auggie and Dewey cheer as Ava says, "It was about time!"

"How're Lucas, Zay and Smackle?" Auggie asks.

All three shift uncomfortably and Riley explains, "Well um, since Lucas and I broke up in sophomore year we didn't really stay in touch so after he went back to Texas after graduation we never heard from him again. Smackle ended her relationship with Farkle when she and her parents moved to Norway permanently in Junior year and we still haven't heard from her. Since Zay went to the same college as the three of us we managed to remain friends and in contact. He's fine, Vanessa broke up with him last year but he's fine and he's a comedian in Texas now. He wanted to come but he was too busy. He says hi."

Topanga says, "Well that's nice. Say hi to Zay for me too when you get the chance."

Riley nods and Maya asks, "So since those three are done eating can we eat now?"

Auggie, Ava and Dewey all put their plates on the sink and Auggie says, "We'll just be doing homework upstairs at the bay window, mom."

Topanga nods and gets food for the three hungry young adults. As they were sitting down Riley asks, "So Auggie and his friends use the bay window for studying?"

"Yeah, hopefully it will inspire them to get better grades. I mean Auggie got a B minus in his report card last year! Can you believe it?!" Topanga exclaims.

"Yeah, it's the end of the world," Maya says sarcastically.

Auggie, Ava and Dewey are sitting on the bay window struggling to do their algebra homework. "Ughh I give up! Why can't they just tell me what X is equals to!" Auggie rants.

"Yeah!" Dewey agreed.

Farkle and Riley entered the room and Farkle says, "I heard you guys are having trouble with algebra, I'm good at that, want me to help you Auggie?"

"I'm having no trouble, this is easy!" Ava exclaims.

Riley grins and says, "Well that's good for you."

Auggie lets Farkle explain to him the hard parts and Riley says to Dewey, "Would you like me to help? I'm not the best in algebra but I know some."

Riley takes a look at that problem and thinks for a bit. Maya comes in through the door and asks, "Seriously where's your Uncle Josh?"

Riley rolls her eyes and says, "I don't know, I don't have him microchipped! Why don't you stalk his online account, you're good at that."

Maya pouts and says, "I will, but why do you make it seem like that's a bad thing, honey?"

It's a new day and Cory and Topanga are giving Auggie his subway card at the subway station. "Here's your card, Auggie. Riley and I have had our turn, it's time for you to take on the world now."

"Thanks dad," Auggie says with a smile.

The train pulls in and he, Ava and Dewey get on it. The train moves out of the station.
