Pit hesitated for a moment before following the man inside. The tent was mostly empty, minus a few circus props in the middle. It must have been successful before, the colors had started to fade from exposure to the elements.

Pit spotted a cage of tigers in the middle of the ring, stalking around. There were three, all grown up and they looked angry. The ringmaster approached the cage and the Tigers roared at him.

"Now now. That's not the way to treat me in front of a guest."

The Tigers didn't back down, growling at him from their caged area. The ringmaster shrugged and turned around to look at Pit with blindfolded eyes.

"Why don't you take a look around?"

Pit thought for a moment. "W-Well....alright."

He nodded and headed off for one area of the tent.

The ringmaster chuckled.

Pit had found himself in the back of the tent, in a trailer for one of the performers. She was an trapeze artist, that's for sure. The walls were covered with her jumping into the air with ease, graceful and beautiful.

Pit was surprised that this was Phosphora out of all people. Where was she now? He looked through the trailer, ignoring the dresser so he wouldn't find anything...er...inappropriate.

As he rummaged through the desk, a foul smell had started to catch the boy's attention. He convinced himself that it was probably just some animals business outside.

Pit opened the second drawer to find a beautiful but tattered blue book with a yellow clasp keeping it shut. Pit undid the clasp and opened the book, curiosity getting the better of him. The handwriting was flowing and small, very neat.

I can't believe it! My dreams have came true! I've finally made it to the big circus!

Surprisingly, the animals are very friendly, including the lions, tigers, and bears. The dogs are probably my favorite! They're so fluffy and cute! Especially this brown one! He's got a small tuff of fur on his head that kind of acts like bangs. Aww!! He's just so cute!!

A few more pages...

I was told to never go into the ringmasters trailer. But lately, I've been smelling this....thing coming from it. It was small at first but it's been getting stronger. It's...foul, almost. I can't stand it! But I'm afraid to question it because no one else has mentioned it. I should get going. The show it about to start.

The rest of the pages were empty. As Pit flipped through them, he turned the last page and cut his finger. He hissed and placed the finger in his mouth, trying to soften the pain. He placed the book down and looked back at his finger.

"Damn it..." He hissed.

He looked back down at the book and froze. The last few pages were covered in dried blood. He quickly flipped to the last page. The handwriting was frantic and thick.

Oh my god. He's a monster!! He's a monster!! I couldn't take the smell any more!! I knocked on the door and it opened on its own! I didn't know! I didn't know! I swear I didn't know!! I

The rest of the page was soaked with blood.
