Chapter Two

Nico's POV

I was currently sitting at my lunch table. It was monday and I was waiting for my 'group' to come sit with me, like we did every day. I may be younger than them, but I skipped a few grades. Hazel came back, but this time with Frank. Hmm.

"So." I said, smirking as she sat next to Frank. "Frazel's a thing now?"

She turned a bright red while Frank looked confused. "Whats- Oh." Now he was bright red.

"Well, nice to meet you Frank. Glad she chose you." I told him honestly. Some guys at this school are real jerks.

      He nodded. "Same."

Eventually all of us were seated. "So, I don't mean to scare you away the first day you sit at our table, but Thalia and I had an... Experience at the Asylum." Everyone immediately leaned forward, while Frank looked calm.

"Your mom does that undercover job, right?" He asked quietly. I nodded.

"So they got a new guy. He... I..." I looked over at Thalia. "A little help?"

"Sure. There was a guy screaming at the top of his lungs about a... Gabe guy? He said he tied his mom up in the basement and was beating her, and was repeating basement over and over again. He also screamed about no one telling the truth anymore. He also said he knew us, and told Nico to tell them his mom was alive, even though they found her body. When he smiled, it was creepy and I could have sworn his teeth were red." Thalia explained in a hushed tone.

Jason looked pale. "What did he look like?" He whispered in a hoarse voice.

"Uh... He had jet black hair and dull green eyes, like a marsh. He looked rather strong, and almost broke out of the two guard's grip." I told him, confused.

Jason muttered something under his breath. "What did you say?" Piper asked.

"I know who it is." He muttered. "He used to be my best friend in Freshmen year. But then he dissapeared. I though he moved but..." He shook his head. "I need to see him."

"My next visitation isn't until next week Jason." I told him. He cursed under his breath and began to chew his bottom lip.

"I can try to visit him though." I told him slowly, a plan forming. "Well, you can try to visit him and I can be your plus one."

He nodded. "Today, after school. I need to make sure they don't give him anything sharp either. One of his old habits, the reason his teeth were red, is to bite his hand until it bleeds." He shook his head sadly. "That poor kid."

      "What's his name?" Hazel asked.

"Percy Jackson." He said the name sadly.

"Wait wait wait, THE Percy Jackson!?" Thalia yelped. "That kid freaked me out! You had him oer once and you told me to hide everything sharp. I hid everything but he still found something... I don't remember what it was but it couldn't have been dangerous!"

"Yeah yeah, him. He before Freshmen he was so happy. I really only was his friend in freshmen because I knew if I wasn't... Well, one less life in this word. But he turned out to still be nice... If you can get close to him."

     "Poor kid." Hazel said sadly.

"Yeah. I was kind of his friend before that, but we got close in Freshmen. I remember when he was so happy, always smiling and laughing. Everyone guy wanted to be friends with him, and every girl swooned. I'm not even kidding." He shook his head sadly, but with a small smile. "I remember one day I was helping the principle put up a banner-"

"Cough Teacher pet cough." Leo muttered.

"Anyway, we were using nails and Percy was walking by. I dropped and nail and he picked it up, held it high an yelled 'NAILED IT!' at the top of lungs. The principle nerly died of laughter. Another time he was picking up litter outside with me and he talked back to a teacher. I knew he had two halfs of a nail in his hands, it had snapped when he pulled it out of the ground. The teacher yelled 'You think you're so rebelious!?' Percy took the nail and put half in his mouth, make it look like he was chewing then spat out the other half on the ground, looked her in the eye and said 'yes'. The poor teacher was so scared she didn't come to school for three more days, and never looked Percy in the eye again."

(So, true story time. When my grandfather was in the military, he and his team just wanted to make some trouble.  [He was kind of the leader of the group] So one the physical exam, they did the minimum of everything. Minimus pushups, minimum sit ups, ect. When they ran track, they ran as fast as they could until they were five feet from the finish line, stood still until there were only a few second left, and then crossed the finish line last second. So after, the Master Sergeant walked up to my grandfather, wo had happened to be pulling a nail out of a board just before, and it snapped in two because it was so old. Anyway, the Sergeant was yelling at him when he yelled 'You thing you're so tough by pulling a rebelious act like that?' to which my grandfather put the nail in his mouth, pretended to bite it off, then spit it out of the ground. 'Yes sir, I do.' The sergeant walked away muttering curses with wide eyes. My grandfather told me this story last night, and I died of laughter and had to put it in one of my stories XD)

     "What happened?" Annabeth asked.

"I don't know. Freshmen year he was depressed, cut, did that hand biting thing, then..." Jason shool his head. "Vanished."

We all akwardly pushed our food around until the bell rang. "Well, nice to meet you Frank." We all chorused, which made us all crack up, even Frank, who looked slightly scared.

*Time Skip, to the end of school because it's boring and lame*

We all met at my place, much to my dads surprise. "Sorry dad, last minute thing. Mission for mom." He nodded and left us alone as we went up to my room.

"I swear it gets darker and creepier every time I'm in here." Hazel muttered. I chuckled and looked around and my dark room, decortated with skulls and black furniture.

"So Jason, who's driving?" I asked.

"You? I don't know the way man." He told me.

"Fine, fine. Anyone else want to come?" I asked. Thalia raised her hand and I nodded.

"Alrighty. You guys can just hang out here I guess." I shrugged, looking around.

"Ooh!" Leo rasied his hand, waving it wildly. I sighed in exasperation.

     "Yes Leo?"

"Can we use your Xbox one?!" He asked.

"Uh... Sure. Just don't break it." I told him.

"Yay!" He cheered and I rolled my eyes.

"Anybody else?" I asked, lookign around. Annabeth raised her hand.

"Do you have anything to read?" She asked.

"Hold on." I walked over to my closet and grabbed a tablet and handed it to her, as well as a charger.

"I have a bunch of books downloaded on here. You may not like them, but" I shrugged.

"Okay book nerds, let's go!" Jason shouted.

As I was being dragged out by Jason with Thalia behind me, I yelled "I suggest Everlife!"

     *Timeskip, they're at the Asylum*

"This is it. C'mon." I lead them to the front door where the guard stood.

"Il mio amico Jason ha bisogno di entrare per vedere il suo amico. Anche Thalia e io siamo qui." I told him.

"Jason ha una chiavetta?" He asked.

"Lo firmerò per uno con Christy." I explained. He nodded and let us in.

I walkd up to the front counter, where a surprised looking Christy greeted us. "Hey Nico, Thalia, uh..."

      "Jason." I supplied. She nodded.

"What can I do for you three?" She asked.

"Jason needs a keycard. He needs to see his friend." I told her.

"Your friend? Who is it?" Christy asked.

"Perseus Achilles Jackson." Jason told her. Christly looked like she was going to fall out of her chair. "He was my best friend in Freshmen year, and we were friends before that. I thought he moved, but I found out he was here."

"Um. Okay, but they told you his condition, correct?" She asked nervously. Jason nodded.

"Okay, hold on." He got up and went through the door behind the desk and came back with some papers.

"Can you fill these out please?" She handed them to Jason as well as a pen. He filled them out and handed them to her.

"And..." She skimmed over the papers. "You are eighteen. Do you have your ID on you?" He nodded and pulled out his wallet handing her his ID. SHe looked between the photo and Jason, checked information and then nodded.

"Another five minutes and I'll have your keycard. For now, you can sit in the chairs. I need to speak to Nico for a moment, if you don't mind." Christy told them.

They went over to a small area with a few chairs and I followed Christ out back. While she made his keycard, she talked to me. "Nico, Percy... He's not normal." She told me.

"I know. My mom told me to keep an eye on him, and Jason really was his friend." I told her.

"But Nico... He's got a million medical contitions. He's lost so much blood from chewing his hands and wrist, for one so he passes out randomly. He's got schizophrenia, halucinates, major depression, PTSD, anxiety, and shows symptoms of MPD. (Multiple Personalities Disorder) He's not someone who will get better easily. He's probably going to die in here Nico, you realize that? Either he's going to strave himself, or bleed out, or if he's not..." She choked back a sob, which startled me. Christy was strong woman, and I've never seen her cry. "If he's not getting any better, they're going to kill him. He's not even eighteen yet Nico, and they're going to kill him because he's got so much wrong with him."

I was slightly stunned. "That much?" I whispered. She nodded and handed me a keycard with a picture of Jason, a birth date, full name, and a barcode at the bottom.

"Alright. He's in a suit that restrains his arms, and they have..." She choked back another sob. "Just go."

I left her alone and walked out, motioning for them to come over. I used Jason's keycard to get in the door, then shut it behind me once we were in. I slowly walked down the hall, looking for the door.

Once I found it, there was a guard looking exhausted propped against the door frame. "We need to get in." I told him.

"Be... Careful.." He told us. I was confused but swiped the keycard. I didn't bother to look, just shoved them in, got in myself, then shut the door. It locked with a click.

"Perce?" Jason whispered. He was huddled in the corner of the room, his head hung low. But at the sound of his name he looked up.

His eyes were hypnotizing, swirling with different shades of green. He looked at us curiously. "Hey buddy." Jason spoke softly.

"He doesn't talk." I told Jason. "He only speaks when he's screaming at someone."

"Hey Percy, can you say something for me?" Jason asked. Percy shook his head no.

Jason sighed and sat down on the floor a few feet in front of Percy. "Do you remember me? I was your friend in freshmen year." He told Percy softly. He blinked and nodded slowly.

Jason smiled at him, but Percy didn't seem to buy it. He remained emotionless. He locked his eyes with me and I found myself unable to look away from his hypnotizing green eyes. He eventually shifted his gaze to Jason. Then Thalia. "Where were you all these years? I missed you." Jason asked softly.

Percy just blinked, tilting his head to the side slightly. He opened his mouth, but no sound came out. He closed it, then opened it again. No sound. Jason sighed. "Hey Percy, mind telling me why you stopped going to school?" I asked gently. His gaze returned to mine, studying me intensely.

He pointed to his mouth and shook his head no. "MPD. This you can't talk, can you?" I asked. He nodded, slowly.

"Do you have control over your personalities?" I asked. He shrugged limply.

"Can you try to enter a personality that can talk?" I asked. "Other than the screaming one?"

He blinked, then slowly moved his arms. He put them in the floor and pushed gently, lifting himself into a standing position. I held up a single finger, leaning agaisnt the wall. He got a paniced look in his eyes before they changed into more of a trouble maker, mischievous look. He took a step forward and I took a step back, slightly scared. He smiled a creepy cheshire cat grin from Alice in Wonderland.

"Oh come on." He spoke for the first time. "I'm not going to hurt you." He took another step forward, and I stood still.

"Good. Good." He mused, taking another step. Now he was less than five feet away from me. I sent a look to Jason telling him to help if he tried anything. He nodded and Thalia planted her feet, ready to lunge.

Another step and my breath quickened. He was looking at me with a look of something I couldn't place. While I was distracted he shoved me agains the wall, but in a way it wouldn't hurt. He put his face close to mine, smirking. "I'm not going to hurt you." He repeated, seeing my frightened look.

"Please get off." I told him. He shook his head no with that smirk, then leaned in closer. Just as he was above to brush his lips against mine, he shook his head wildly and back up, holding his hands out on front of him. His eyes were back to emotionless, then changed into one of fright.

"Oh god I'm sorry I can't control him I don't know why he did that I'm so sorry!" He squeaked, covering his face with his hands.

"Hey hey hey, it's alright. You didn't mean too, it's okay." I assured him. When he removed his hands his eyes were emotionless. He shrugged limply again, slumping against the wall.

"So the talking thing didn't work." I noted. He shrugged again.

"How many personalites do you have?" Thalia asked.

He shrugged again. "So far we've seen... Three?" I asked. He nodded.

"So I'm assuming this one is the silent, passive guy. The second one... I don't even know. Flirty?" I asked.

"More like a rapist." Thalia muttered.

     "Thalia!" Jason hissed.

"We'll go with flirty. And the third was fright?" I asked.

Percy shrugged. "Uh. How long are we allowed to stay in here?" Jason asked.

"I'm assuming that they're obtaining information about him so they're letting us stay longer than usual because, well, no offence but everyone in here is deathly afriad of you." I responded. "And since we aren't, and we aren't forcing information out of you, you're acting casual allowing them to gather information. Then again, that's just a guess. Somebody may just be too scared to come in here."

"Who knew you had so much in common with Annabeth know-it-all Chase?" Thalia muttered. Percy's head shot up, his eyes wide.

"You know Annabeth Chase?" I asked him. He nodded slowly.

"I know Annabeth." He spoke slowly, his eyes shining with sadness. "She used to be my girlfriend. Then she found about my depression and ditched me. Said I was to much work, and that I was faking for attention. Oh what she would do if she found out I was so depressed I ended up in an Asylum." He laughed bitterly, shaking his head.

"I didn't know Annabeth could be so... Cruel!" Thalia exclaimed, obviously disgusted.

"Oh no! You didn't hear anything from me! Don't tell her I told you! I don't want to cause anybody trouble!" He nervously lifted his hand to his mouth, but Jason leaned forward and grabbed it, yanking it down.

"No." Jason commanded, his voice eerily calm yet forceful. "Don't." Percy's eyes were wide, but he nodded.

Percy's eyes welled with tears, then he lunged at Jason. I started forward, but I saw he was hugging Jason, sobbing into his shoulder while Jason rubbed his back soothingly. Thalia and I exchanged confused glances.

"It's okay Perce. Don't worry about it." Jason soothed. We sat there for who knows how long, watching Jason cradle Percy in his arms while he cried.
