Holey Moley
Arabella's POV
Sometimes I think my dad's narcissism is a bit out of control, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. I love my father, but he spent three-hundred thousand dollars on a painting of himself and it's very interesting to say the least. Mary thought it was great, because it featured her more than any of us. It was a painting of my dad as a centaur holding a thunderbolt and Mary was a pregnant goddess leaning against him, while the rest of us were angels with our faces plastered on them.
It was beautifully painted, but I wonder if this was a dream my dad had and wanted it to come to life. Just like the dream I had of Henry proposing to me and it freaked me out, but it's a dream and anything could happen in dreams.
Schwoz, Charlotte, and I were pushing the painting out of the elevator while my dad and Mary just supervised and led us where to go. My dad ordered Mary to not lift anything heavy or anything in general, because he's worried the baby will 'break' and won't survive. It's cute how concerned he is, but it's a little overboard.
"Are we seriously here on a Saturday morning-"
"Use your core as much as possible!" My dad told us and I rolled my eyes.
"Don't tell me to use my core," Schwoz remarked as we set down the painting and I huffed.
"I ain't got no core," I told him. "Or any muscle on me."
"Am I gonna have to do this thing myself?" My dad asked us.
"Ray, don't be hard on them," Mary advised him.
"Please!"
"Go ahead!"
"Yes!"
"Well, I don't wanna," my dad told us. "Now take off the sheet and let me see it.
Charlotte, Schwoz, and I took off the sheet and the large portrait was revealed.
"Turn it on please," my dad asked us and I rolled my eyes, turning on the sunlight in the photo and my dad's eyes glowed red in it. Now to mention the horrendous music and guitar that was added to it. I gave my dad a weird look when he pretended to play an air guitar and rock out to the music. "Best two hundred thousand dollars I ever spent."
"Woah!"
"How much!"
"Hold up!"
"More like worst," I remarked.
"Ah, you got me," my dad said. "It was three hundred thousand."
"Ray!" Mary scolded.
"Let's hang this beast of a master piece!" My dad announced and walked over to the wall. He picked up a large nail and a hammer and placed the nail on the wall. "Hammer strike!"
He hit the hammer on the nail and this caused part of the wall to collapse and create a hole into a mysterious looking tunnel.
All of us looked inside the tunnel with curiosity.
"Call Henry," my dad told us. "On the phone."
Na, I think I'll use a banana instead.
——
I called Henry and he picked up.
"Hey, princess, what's up?" He greeted.
"So, my dad wanted me to call you-"
"Don't tell Henry!"
"Tell him to hurry!"
"You can tell him about the painting!"
"Tell him to bring bagels!"
"Lots of bagels!"
I just stared at my dad, Schwoz, and Mary with confusion as Charlotte was rolling her eyes.
"Did ya get any of that?" I asked Henry.
"They want me to come to work with a painting of bagels?" Henry questioned and I shrugged.
"Just get down here, babe," I sighed and hung up.
——
Charlotte, Mary, and I decided to investigate the tunnels as my dad and Schwoz told Henry and Jasper about the them. Turns out, these tunnels run underneath all over Swellview, like Henry and Mary houses, the school, Six Poles Over Swellview, and all fourteen locations of Nacho Ball. Mary got hungry, like always, and we decided to go to Nacho Ball and get some food and then go and tell the boys about it and have them come with us.
"You guys!" I shouted as I poked my head out of the tunnel and looked at the guys. "These tunnels go to Nacho Dang Ball! Come on!"
I ran back inside after that.
——
~A Couple Hours Later~
We spent the last few hours using the tunnels to go places, like Nacho Ball and Six Poles Over Swellview. It was so much fun, Henry won me a cute stuffed panda bear at Six Poles and we had a blast there. Mary couldn't go on any of the rides, unfortunately, but she got to eat all of the food we bought when we were on the rides. So, all of us had a good time.
I named my panda bear, Pookie, and I love him.
"This under ground air is great for my skin," Schwoz smiled and I turned to him.
"I was gonna say that! You look great," Charlotte praised him.
"Amazing," I grin.
"I know," Schwoz said.
"I could not have been more wrong about these tunnels," Henry mentioned with his arm around my shoulders.
"You were so wrong!" my dad mocked him.
"I was so wrong!" Henry chuckled.
"It takes like no time to go anywhere when you're in a tunnel," Jasper mentioned and I nodded.
"Yeah, if we had taken surface streets we would have never made it to Nacho Ball, Six Poles Over Swellview, the movies," Mary explained. "And another Nacho Ball, which my baby was thankful for."
"Plus my dad voted!" I added.
"Twice!" He grinned, "in the same election!"
"And guys, it's not even noon," Henry mentioned.
"We should stop calling these tunnels and start calling them funnels! Am I right?!" Schwoz laughed and put his hand up for us to hi-five, but none of us reacted to his horrible pun, "cuz of how much fun they are!"
"Uh, guys?" Charlotte said with uneasiness.
"All I know is that there are no downsides to these tunnels," my dad mentioned as we followed Charlotte down the tunnel.
"None!"
"At all!"
"Don't jinx it," Mary and I responded.
"Guys!" Charlotte exclaimed and got our attention.
"Mmm?!"
We walked over to Charlotte and in front of us was a group of mole people.
"Mole people!" Schwoz gasped and I groaned.
"Are you kidding me?!"
"Holey moley," Mary said with shock.
"Hey, look, a downside," Henry pointed out.
"You jinxed it," I glared at Henry and he just flicked my cheek.
——
"Looks like a bunch of mole people, dude," Henry told my dad.
"It is a bunch of mole people," my dad remarked. "Same ones who blew up the Man Cave."
"Yeah, but, that was just one mole guy, this is like... a bunch of mole people, dude," Henry reasoned.
"Mole people are everywhere!" The female mole leader declared and the other mole people cheered.
"No!" I exclaimed and shivered, leaning into Henry's chest.
"Don't like it!" Henry shook his head and wrapped his other arm around me.
"My mom always said that mole people would sneak into my room at night if I didn't eat my dinner," Jasper informed us.
"She's right, we do," the female mole leader agreed.
"What?!"
"Seriously?!"
"Wow," I say with shock.
"Look, I don't care what anybody does in Jasper's bedroom," my dad began. "It's Henry's and my daughter's that worries me." Henry and I awkwardly look away with red cheeks, before my dad continues. "What I do care about is that you mole people are in our tunnels. Now get out of here!"
"Your tunnels?" The female mole leader questioned.
"Yeah."
"Our mole fathers dug these tunnels centuries ago," she explained.
"Well, we found these tunnels hours ago, so that means they're ours," my dad reasoned, stepping closing to them and Schwoz stood beside him.
"Yeah, cuz that's how America works!"
"Ray," Mary began and pulled him back.
"That's enough," I chuckle awkwardly.
"So sorry, not anymore," Henry apologized
"Didn't happen!" Jasper exclaimed.
"Now, get out of our tunnels!" The female mole leader ordered us and my dad removed his comically large Six Poles hat, handing it to Jasper.
"What if we say no?" My dad reasoned, "what are you gonna do about it, Hairy Underwood."
"Sweetie, don't anger them," Mary told him and my dad ignored her.
"Well, I could tell you, but I would rather leave you in the dark!"
Suddenly, the lights turned off and it was pitch black. All of us panicked and yelled out in fear, and I leaped into the nearest person's arms, who I assumed was Henry's. The lights turned back on and I heard my dad yelling and saw him hitting Jasper with a stuffed animal.
"WHY! WON'T! YOU! DIE!" My dad yelled and Jasper called out to him.
"Stop hitting me!"
My dad stopped and saw Jasper before letting him go.
"Sorry! Your face is very mole like in the dark."
I turned my head and saw that is was Mary that had caught me in her arms, which surprised me because she's pregnant.
"How are you holding me?" I asked her and she shrugged.
"You tell me," she chuckled, before letting me go and I stood up on my feet.
"Get off of me!" Henry groaned and tossed the mole person that was on him off his back.
"What is wrong with you?!" Charlotte scolded Schwoz, who was in her arms.
"I'm afraid of the dark," Schwoz admitted.
"Well, there's light now," she reasoned.
"Sometimes it's just nice to be held," Schwoz smiled, before Charlotte shoved him off her lap and she stood up.
"Alright, time to mash up some guacamoley!" My dad yelled out as he got ready to attack, but Henry stopped him and the moles from fighting.
"Alright! Alright! Everybody just relax!" Henry called and they stopped, "just calm down. Just chill out!"
The moles flinched and I rubbed Henry's arm, "chill out, babe."
He gave me a look, before looking at the moles and all the lights came back on. This caused the moles to cover their heads and yell out in agony from the bright lights.
"Oh, Terry! Turn the lights down!"
"I can't see!"
The lights dimmed and they looked up.
"That's mole like it," the female mole leader said.
"Now," Henry began again. "Why can't we just share the tunnels?"
"Yeah, there's gotta be a way for both of us to use these," Charlotte reasoned.
"Well, you could pay a mole tax," the female mole leader negotiated and I made a confused face.
"What?" My dad asked.
"You pay us money every week and we let you use the tunnels," she explained to us.
"Okay, how much?" I asked as I take Henry's hand and lean my head against him.
Suddenly, the moles huddled together and discussed the amount.
"Yo, while they're talking-"
"We've made our decision!" The female mole leader announced, cutting off Henry.
"That was really quick," Henry remarked and I nodded.
"You can use our tunnels if you pay us..." she looked at her fellow mole people for a moment. "Ten cents."
I nodded and looked up at Henry, who was thinking.
"We... accept your offer," Henry agreed.
"Great!" The female mole leader said, "pay us now!"
"Now?" Henry asked and he and I looked in our pockets and didn't have anything.
"I got nothing," I shrugged, "you guys got any change?"
"I threw my coins at some person," Schwoz said.
"I threw my last dime a bird," Mary told us and I gave her a strange look.
"I've got ten cents," my dad called and I sighed softly.
"I feel like you don't," I remarked.
"Sure I do," my dad said and patted his pocket, walking closer to the moles. "I've got ten cents right here in my pocket. Why don't one of you mole people, who blew up my Man Cave-"
"Okay," Henry sighed and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, holding me against his chest.
"Walk your little mole feet over here and get it?" My dad offered and we all knew exactly where this was going."
"Sweetie, don't do this," Mary reasoned with my dad.
"That's right," my dad smiled at the eager mole people. "I'm reaching in my pocket and pulling out a nice-"
"We're begging you," I pleaded my father.
"Shiny-"
"Oh god," Henry sighed.
"FIST!" My dad exclaimed and punched a mole person into the wall. All the mole people began to panic and scream in fear as my dad yelled in anger.
"Dad!" I called as he scared away the mole people and Mary sighed, hanging her head down.
My dad came back out when the mole people were gone and laughed, "can you believe that stupid mole guy thought I had a dime in my pocket?"
"Dude, that was not cool!" Henry berated my dad, who scoffed.
"You just made enemies with the mole people over ten cents!" Mary continued for Henry.
"Who cares?!" My dad scoffed and grabbed his hat, "we won and again, zero downside."
My dad walked ahead and Mary, Charlotte, and Schwoz followed him.
"Huh? I did have a dime," Jasper smiled as he held a dime in his hand.
"Come on," I told Henry and pulled him along.
——
~The Next Day~
My dad, Charlotte, Jasper, Mary, and I were arguing over the large spotlight that my dad bought to enhance the lighting on his dumb portrait. The problem was we all thought it was stupid that he needed a large spotlight and argued with my dad about it as we moved it into the elevator.
Henry approached us during this time.
"I've had enough of these mole people!" Henry snapped, throwing down his coffee.
"Not now," my dad told him and I rolled my eyes. "I got this big spotlight to show off my painting and we're moving it down to the Man Cave."
"It's stupid," I mentioned.
"You're stupid," my dad retorted and I glared at him.
"Best eighty thousand dollars I ever spent," my dad sighed and I shook my head.
"Hold up!"
"How much?"
"More like worst."
"All right, you got me, it was ninety thousand," my dad corrected and Mary gave him a look.
"Ray," she sighed.
"But, it includes this bag of four hundred double A batteries it takes to power this baby," my dad added and handed me the large bag of batteries.
"Ah," I groaned and took the bag with a stumble.
"Listen!" Henry exclaimed, "dude, there were mole people in my living room last night."
My dad laughed, "mole people are the worst!"
I handed the bag to Charlotte as we maneuvered inside the elevator.
Henry kissed my lips and took my hand as went inside the elevator.
We rode the elevator down and Charlotte, Mary, and I walked out with Jasper rolling out the spotlight and the boys were behind him.
"Alright, so, what are we gonna do? I can't have mole people in my house," Henry asked my dad.
"See, this why I refuse to negotiate with tunnelist," my dad remarked.
"You negotiated them right in the nose," I told my dad and he laughed.
"I did," he grinned.
All of us, minus my dad who was looking at his spotlight, noticed Schwoz all tied up with a gag in his mouth.
"Uh, Ray," Mary said with concern.
"Yeah, sweetie?" He asked and spotted Schwoz and his certain situation, "quit messing around Schwoz, we've got to light to my painting."
I looked around and noticed that the painting is missing.
"Where is your painting, dude?" Henry asked my dad, noticing the same thing as me.
"Huh?"
"Where is your painting, dude?" Henry repeated as I went up to Schwoz with Mary and Charlotte.
My dad looked around the place and got worried, "uhhhhhh...."
I removed the gag from Schwoz's mouth and he shook his head.
"The mole people stole your painting," Schwoz confessed when he was able to speak.
"Yay," I grinned to myself and Mary chuckled.
My dad became very angry and growled, "those mole people just crossed the line!"
"Oh, but they didn't when they went into my house?" Henry asked him.
"No!" My dad said.
"So, now that you're personally affected you're gonna help solve the problem?" Charlotte reasoned.
"Yes!"
"You want me to cancel your eleven-thirty massage with Mary?" Schwoz asked him.
"Yes!"
"Aw," Mary sighed.
"There's a ten dollar cancellation fee," Schwoz informed him.
"Then no!"
"Yay," Mary grinned.
My dad suddenly yelled out and dashed inside the tunnel with a vengeance. Henry glanced at us for a moment, before he followed my dad inside the tunnel.
——
After my dad and Henry ran into the tunnels, Jasper, Charlotte, Mary, and I decided to place the batteries inside the spotlight while Schwoz sat there still tied up.
"Hey, so, not to be a diva, but I'm still tied up over here," Schwoz informed us.
"We know," I smile as I grab another battery.
"Oh, you do, okay good," Schwoz said. "But, question, are you planning to untie me?"
"Of course we are," Jasper grinned.
"Okay, great, looking forward to that," Schwoz smiled and we just casually continued putting the batteries into the spotlight.
"Tiny thing, when are you going to do the actually untying... of me?" Schwoz asked us.
"Uh... as soon as we finish saving Ray and Henry," Charlotte informed him.
"Cool, cool," Schwoz nodded. "Do they need saving?"
"I'm sure they're gonna," Mary remarked.
"Cause it seems like you could untie me pretty quick, but, you know more about this than I do, so," Schwoz laughed and I gave him a smile.
"Yeah," I say and return to the spotlight as Jasper approached Schwoz.
"I spy with my little eye something that is-scissors!" Schwoz muttered to Jasper and I looked over to see a pair of purple scissors on the cart Schwoz was on.
"Oh, is it these scissors?" Jasper asked, picking up the scissors.
"Yeah!"
"Oh great, I win!" Jasper smiled and walked away, putting the scissors in his back pocket.
"Good for you!" Schwoz smiled.
——
After putting all the batteries in the spotlight, Charlotte, Jasper, and I went inside the tunnel and found Ray and Henry. We saw Henry fighting a swole mole blindfolded and we were gonna shine the spotlight on the moles to make them flee.
"I think your painting will look great in our tunnel," the female leader mole smirked.
"No, it won't! The lighting in here is completely wrong!" My dad exclaimed.
"I can fix that," I called out.
"Ready?" Jasper asked.
"Light them up," Charlotte told him and Schwoz turned into the incredibly bright spotlight that shined right on the painting. All the moles yelled out in agony and fled from the scene as fast as they could.
My dad sunk to his knees at the sight of his painting and smiled happily, "it's beautiful!"
I ran over to Henry and helped him to his feet.
"What's happening?!" The swole mole asked as he lifted his blindfold and became blinded by the bright spotlight. "AHHHHH!"
"Hey, Hen-" Jasper greeted Henry, who turned and soaked him in the jaw.
"AHHHH!" Jasper cried and I flinched, going up to him and checking his face.
Henry removed his blindfold and saw the swole mole on the ground, "yeah! I got him! I defeated swole mole!"
"Actually, Charlotte and Bella just blinded everyone with the spotlight," my dad informed him as Charlotte turned off the light.
"You actually punched Jasper," I corrected and patted Jasper's back.
"Oh..." Henry said with disappointment. "Sorry, man, your face is very mole like in the dark."
"Right?" My dad agreed and Jasper touched his face self consciously.
"But hey! We got our tunnels back!" Henry announced and we cheered.
"And my painting," my dad added and I sighed sadly.
"Yay..." I say weakly.
"Yeah, alright, that's kinda cool," Henry nodded.
"Sure," Jasper smiled.
"Look, why don't we celebrate by taking our tunnels to Nacho Ball?" Henry suggested and we cheered at his suggestion.
"Uh, what should we do with him?" Charlotte asked, pointing to the scared swole mole on the ground.
"Yeah, leave him, he's gotta go home and cry to his momma!" My dad exclaimed and the swole mole suddenly hopped onto all fours, making us all move back. I grabbed Henry's arm and he moved in front of me, protectively.
"Mole people never cry!" The swole mole exclaimed and lifted up a rock to reveal a red lever, "if we can't have our tunnels! No one will!"
We all cried out and protested against him, but the swole mole pushed down the lever.
"Where did they come from?! What is that?!" I cried as we heard explosions in the distance and Henry immediately held me in his arms.
"What is that?" My dad asked with alarm.
"Should we, like, run?" Charlotte asked with confusion and the ground began to rumble and I gripped Henry's arms that were around me.
"Woah," I stumbled, but Henry stabilized me.
"They're blowing up the tunnels!" Henry gasped.
"Let's get out of here!" Jasper called.
"No! No, no! Not without my painting!" My dad protested.
"Who cares about your painting, dude?!" Henry cried to him.
"I do!" My dad snapped, "and if you're not gonna helped me carry it, then just leave me here!"
I flinched when I heard an explosion right beside us and shrugged. He's indestructible, he'll make it out alive at some point.
"Okay!"
"Bye!"
The four of us sprinted our way out of the tunnels leaving my dad behind.

~A Week Later~
A week had passed by and I have not seen or heard from my dad since the mole incident. The tunnels blew up, but I know my father will make it out of those tunnels at some point. During that time, I just stayed over at Henry's house most of the days because my dad wasn't here to tell me no and Schwoz didn't care.
Right now, Henry, Charlotte, Jasper, Schwoz, Mary, and I were playing laser tag with actual lasers in the Man Cave and it was really fun.
"This is so much better with real lasers!" Jasper laughed.
"Right!" I agreed and shot a laser at Mary, who dodged it and shot one back at me.
"Hey, wait, cease fire, cease fire, cease fire," Henry called out and we stopped shooting as he stood up.
"What?" I asked as we all got up and walked up to him.
"How long as Ray been gone?" Henry asked.
"About a week," Charlotte told him.
"Yeah," Schwoz nodded.
"Should we be worried?" Henry asked.
"He'll be fine, he's indestructible," Jasper smile and Mary nodded.
"If I'm not worried, no one should be worried," she smiled and everyone agreed with her. "Resume fire!"
Mary shot her laser at Henry, who yelled at her.
"Hey! You can't just!"
We all returned to our hiding positions and resumed firing our lasers at each other.
"Stop guarding!"
"I'm not guarding!"
"Shut up!" I scolded Henry and Jasper and shoot both of them with my laser.

Up Next: Love Bytes💕
I was determine to get this up and I finished it. Yay!
Small question, have any of you not read the first book of this series, Captain Man's Daughter? Idk, it just feels like some people haven't and it's sort of important for you all to read the first book, because it's the beginning and had a lot of information about Bella in it. Idk, I just think that, but I could be wrong.
23 more episodes until the end of this book, but I have some original chapter ideas in mind as well that I might write🙃💕
I picked the gender for Mary's baby and the name has been picked, but I won't reveal it until the baby is born. I might write an original chapter for a baby shower, but Idk right now. However, when the baby is actually born that may just be a scene I'll add to a chapter later on in the series or it will be it's own chapter I'll see what I do.
I'm excited and sad to see this series slowly come to an end. It's gonna be quite an ending and some tears will be shed, but all good things must come to an end.
Thank you all💜
