Henry's Frittle Problem

Arabella's POV

I was at Henry's house and we were supposed to be doing homework. I didn't want to do it, but I was and I know for a fact that Henry was cheating off mine. I spent four hours finishing my math homework and I'm pretty sure it's all wrong, but at least I tried. The only subject I've really 'improved' in is English and even that subject is still tough for me. I don't understand how Mary sees improvement with my reading, the letters I read still look like alphabet soup.

I'm over exaggerating, but still it's hard for me. Dyslexia sucks.

Henry was distracting himself with his pencil and I looked at him.

"So, what'd you get for number one?" I asked him, moving my notebook so he couldn't see my answers.

"Number one. Number one." Henry trailed off, looking at his paper. "Uh....what'd you get?"

"I got 'B.'" I told him.

"Uh, I got B." He smiled and wrote down the answer.

I smiled, "okay, what'd you get for number 2?" I asked him.

"Number 2." He said and raised his eyebrows at me. "That was a tricky one, wasn't it?"

"Mmhm." I nodded.

"What'd you get?" He asked me.

"Y."

"Exactly." He scoffed and wrote down the letter. "I got Y-wait, what?"

"Yeah, why are you cheating off my answers?" I asked him.

"I'm not." He denied and I gave him a look.

"Why are you lying?" I asked him and his face turned into fear.

"Wanna make out?" He asked, scooting closer and I turned away from him.

"No." I denied.

"Why not? We haven't made out for two days." He reasoned.

"And?" I asked him.

"And...it's difficult enough to go one day without kissing you." He remarked and I sighed.

"Henry, we have kissed today." I told him.

"But that was just a tiny kiss, like we do everyday." He objected and I smiled at his neediness for my kisses. "Don't you wanna kiss me?"

I looked at him and he winked at me.

"This isn't about wanting to kiss you, I'm trying to focus on homework right now." I told him and he sighed.

"Fine." He pouted, "what'd you get for number 3?"

"P." I sighed.

"Come on, babe." He chuckled.

"No, I'm serious I gotta pee." I said and put down my notebook.

"What?" Henry said as I got up.

"Hey, Bella." I turned to Mrs. Hart, "will you help us put up this banner?"

"Of course." I smile, "but could it wait till after I use the bathroom?"

"No, right now." She smiled and I rubbed my neck.

"Okay..." I say and walk over to Mrs. Hart and Piper.

"Just grab the end of that yellow rope and pull." Piper instructed me and I nodded, grabbing the yellow rope."

"Okay."

Piper and I pulled on the ropes and the banner mounted itself on the cabinets above us. It was a 'sorry' banner and I didn't understand why they had it out.

"Hey, Henry, does this 'sorry' banner look straight?" Mrs. Hart asked her son.

"Uh, yeah, looks good." Henry said and I turned to see him taking pictures of my homework.

"Henry!" I called and he looked at me. "Are you taking pics of my homework answers?"

"What?" He scoffed, "no, no, no! I'm taking-I'm taking selfies!" He stuck his tongue out at me and took a selfie, before pointing it down at my homework and snapping more pics.

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Okay, Bella, we'll take it from here." Mrs. Hart smiles at me.

"Okay." I walked by and took another look at the banner. "So, uh, who's sorry?"

"Oh no, this is just a family thing we do." Mrs. Hart remarked.

"We put out the sorry banner up whenever my dad has an interview for a new job." Piper explained.

"Why?" I asked.

"To make him feel better." Mrs. Hart smiled.

"When he doesn't get the job." Piper added.

"But, you guys don't know whether or not he got the job." I reasoned.

"Yeah, but, see it's like, in life there are winners and..." Mrs. Hart paused

"Ya know." Piper continued and I rolled my eyes.

Losers. Got it.

"Hey, babe." I turned and saw Henry, "I uh, I finished my math homework."

"So?"

"So, I'm ready to copy your English homework." He said and I sighed.

"Well, I'm ready to visit your restroom." I remarked and walked by him.

"Can I get your English homework before you go?" Henry asked me and I gave him a look.

"No! I gotta pee!" I exclaimed.

"So, I can get it right after?" He asked me and I made my way to the bathroom.

The front door swung open and Mr. Hart ran in.

"Okay! Nobody move!" He announced.

I groaned and squeezed my legs together. "Aw! Why!?"

"Honey, what's up?" Mrs. Hart asked.

"What's up is Frittle chips!" Mr. Hart smiled, holding up a can of Frittle chips. "You get some Frittle chips! And you got some Frittle chips! And you get some Frittle chips!" He tossed one to each member of the family.

"Dad, why are you throwing us Frittle chips?" Henry asked his dad and I walked back into the living room.

Why question free food?

"I can tell you that with a poem!" Mr. Hart declared and tossed down the bag he had, "ready? Roses are red, doors have a knob, this guy is happy because he just got a new..." He trailed off to let us finish it.

"Car?" Henry asked.

"No."

"Hat?" Piper guessed.

"Come on!"

"Swim trunks?" Mrs. Hart wondered.

"No! Job!" Mr. Hart exclaimed, "I got the job!"

"He got the job!" Henry said and I smiled.

"I can't believe it!" Piper gasped.

"I guess we should cheer!" Mrs. Hart shrugged and the four of us cheered for Mr. Hart.

"Thank you all very much!" Mr. Hart beamed, "I am a very happy daddy!"

"Okay, this seems like a family time, and I really need to go use the bathroom so-"

"Oh, Bella, stop that!" Mrs. Hart said and Mr. Hart grabbed me and pulled me over to them.

"You're family!" Mr. Hart declares and Henry pulled me into his arms.

"You just sit down!" Piper smiled.

Henry kisses my head, "you stay here, princess."

I appreciate the kind gesture of being part of their family, but my bladder is the size of a squirrel and I really need to pee.

I groaned against Henry's chest and he rubbed my back.

"So, honey, what is the new job?" Mrs. Hart asked her husband.

"I'm gonna be a product manager at the Frittle Factory!" He announced and I lifted my head up with confusion, but cheered with the rest of the family. Then we all turned to confusion and asked questions.

"Wasn't that place destroyed?" I asked.

"There is no more Frittle Factory in Swellview."
Piper mentioned.

"I know, because Captain Man and Kid Danger blew it to bits." Mr. Hart told us and I grinned, pulling away from Henry as he smiled.

"Well, that's not exactly what happened." He chuckled, "to those guys!"

"Yeah, it is." Mr. Hart protested.

"Well..."

"It happened last year, it was a cool Wednesday afternoon. I was watching the news, with my pants on, and they said that Captain Man and Kid Danger we're visiting the Frittle Factory and got into a huge argument." Mr. Hart explained and I sat down on the couch, sighing.

I ignored his explanation of the story, because I've heard it too many times.

Once he finished, Mrs. Hart looked at her son.

"There's two sides to every story." Henry reasoned.

"Hey, I thought they were building the new Frittle Factory in Bordertown?" I asked

"They already did, that's where I'll be working."
Mr. Hart smiled.

But that's two hours from now which means that Henry has to move.

"Wait, wait, you're gonna be okay driving two hours to and from work everyday?" Mrs. Hart asked.

"No!" He denied, "this family's moving to Bordertown!"

"I think I leaked little." I muttered softly and felt sadness enter me.

My superhero is leaving me.

"What happened to 'Yay! We're all so excited for you daddy!" Mr. Hart cheered, but nobody was excited about moving.

"Well, we were!" Mrs. Hart began.

"Until you started talking like a maniac!" Piper snapped.

"I'm not a maniac!" Mr. Hart protested, "Bordertown is a great place to live. It's got houses and trees and a library and-"

"Dad!" Henry called, "hey! Please! Listen! Dad! We are not moving to Bordertown!"

"Okay! But, yeah we are." Mr. Hart shrugged and I gave Henry a sad look.

"Dad!"

"But, what about Henry and I?" I asked Mr. Hart, ignoring my filled bladder and Henry wrapped his arm around me.

"Yeah, she's my girlfriend, I can't just leave her." Henry protested.

"Look, daddy!" Piper snapped and Mr. Hart leaned back. "I am not moving to Bordertown! And I'm gonna go lock myself in the bathroom until you say we don't have too!"

Piper ran off toward the bathroom and I walked after her as her parents chased her.

"Piper! No!" I called, "don't lock yourself in the bathroom!"

I groaned and turned Henry.

"You're not leaving me are you?" I asked him and he walked up to me, taking my hands.

"No, I promised you I wouldn't leave and I'm keeping that promise." He assured me and I smiled.

"I hope so." I sighed and he held me in his arms. "I need my superhero."

"And I need my princess."

——

"What? You can't move away!"

Henry and I went to Junk-N-Stuff to tell Charlotte and Jasper about what's happening. Henry can't move, I'll go insane without him here, and not to mention he's also Kid Danger.

But I'd go nuts without him here.

"Dude, I don't want to move away!" Henry protested.

"It's his dad, not him." I mentioned.

"Well, then I'm gonna give your dad a pizza my mind!" Jasper declared and we just looked at him.

"Did you just say 'pizza my mind?'" Henry asked him.

"Yeah, it's an expression." Jasper remarked, "like if my mind was a pizza, your dad would-"

"Okay, let's just talk to Ray." Charlotte suggested  and we walked to the back.

"Alright."

Henry took my hand and I grabbed his arm with my free hand.

"Henry, you can't move away from Swellview!" Jasper cried.

"I don't want to!" Henry said.

"You promised we grow old together." Jasper mentioned and I gave him a look.

"What? Huh?" Henry chuckled as the elevator opened. "Why would I promise you-Oh!"

Henry pulled me inside the elevator and Jasper followed us and Charlotte.

"Wait, wait, wait!" Jasper called and I sighed, resting my chin on Henry's shoulder.

"Jasper-"

"When did your dad tell you this?" Jasper asked him.

"I don't-"

"Can I just push the button?" Charlotte begged and I nodded.

"Please." I say

"Yes, please." Henry said and wraps his arm around my waist tightly and I gripped his shoulders.

"Wait, before you push the button all I wanted was-"

Charlotte pushes the button and the elevator shot down, causing Jasper to freak out and yell as Henry, Charlotte, and I stood there. Jasper grabbed on to all of us at some point, before the elevator hit the ground and Jasper managed to pull Henry to the ground and held him there.

"Please don't move away." Jasper muttered.

"Please get off my body." Henry said.

"Please get off my boyfriend." I pleaded and Jasper crawled to his feet and I helped Henry up. We walked out of the elevator and my dad walked out with a vacuum cleaner.

"Hey, Bella, Henry, and Charlotte!" My dad greeted, ignoring Jasper's presence. "I don't know what you guys are doing back here, but I am glad to see you because tonight is a special night! Stay right there!"

My dad turned away and I folded my arms.

"Why is tonight a special night?" Henry asked.

"Because I just bought this vacuum cleaner!" My dad beamed.

"You and I have different definitions of the word 'special.'" Charlotte mentioned.

"Oh, is this the Tyson Ultra Suck!?" Jasper chirped.

"Yeah! Get away from it." My dad told him and Jasper pouted as my dad walked by.

What did Jasper ever do to deserve this kind of treatment from my dad? He's a sweetheart.

"Hey, Henry, check this out, check this out!" My dad came up to us and shook a container of mints. "You see these little breath mints?"

"Uh, yeah dude, but listen, I really gotta-"

"Guess would made these breath mints?" My dad smiled.

"Schwoz." I interrupted and my dad gave me a look.

"Dang it, Bella." He scolded me, "I wanted to say that."

"Cool. Look, that's cool, but I gotta tell ya something." Henry began.

"Yeah, you want one?"

"Na, I'm good, I gotta tell you something." Henry denied and my dad kept pestering us about a mint, until he gave up and poured one out.

"Well then, I will just take this mint and throw it at that vacuum cleaner!" My dad threw the mint at the vacuum cleaner and suddenly it exploded causing the four of us to fall to the ground. Henry immediately grabbed me and held me as we landed.

We all sat up after and my dad laughed. Henry helped me to my feet and I grabbed his arm as we all looked at my dad.

"Dude!" Henry exclaimed, "what if I had said yes and put that mint in my mouth?"

"I guess we'd be on our way to your dentist! Ha!" My dad laughed, hitting Henry's chest and Henry shook his head with irritation.

"Jasper, clean that mess up." My dad instructed Jasper.

"With what?"

"With the vacuum-" My dad paused when he noticed the blown up vacuum. "Oh. Uh....Oh, I got something you can use!" My dad opened a drawer from the mechanical cart and pulled out a pencil box that had a miniature broom and dustpan inside. "Here ya go. That outta do it."

This is just sad.

"What is that?" Jasper asked.

"This is a broom and dustpan travel kit." My dad informed, taking out the broom and dustpan. "Come on, get to work."

Jasper took the comedically small objects and my dad picked up a mini trash can.

"Here ya go."

Jasper took the trash can and went over to the mess. I can't say my dad doesn't care about Jasper, but he could show some appreciation for the guy. He tries to hard to get my dad to like him.

My dad patted his belly and turned to us. "Okay, I'm gonna go online and buy some mirrors."

"No, no, no, no, no!" We stopped my dad and he turned to us.

"What? What now?" My dad asked.

"Dude, we've got a big problem." Henry began.

"What-Oh, do I look fat?!" My dad panicked, touching his face.

"What? No, why?" I asked him.

"Oh, good, I'm gonna get those mirrors then." He grinned.

"Wait." Charlotte and I say.

"Seriously, seriously." Henry stopped him. "Look, my dad, he got a new job at the Frittle Factory."

"What? I thought they built the new Frittle Factory in Bordertown?" My dad questioned.

"Yeah! That's where Henry's family is moving too!" Charlotte remarked and Jasper and I both groaned.

"Woah, woah, woah, woah! Kid, there is no way you're moving to Bordertown!" My dad protested.

"I don't want too!" Henry objected.

"You're Kid Danger!"

Henry shifted his eyes, "yeah, I remember!"

My dad pulled Henry away and Charlotte and I listened in.

"What if I need ya, huh?" My dad asked him, "what if there's an emergency?! By the time you'd get here from Bordertown, everyone would already be dead! Except for me, cuz I'm Captain Man."

"Yeah, I remember." Henry replied.

"Anyway, you're not moving." My dad declared.

"Dude, look, I'm only sixteen." Henry reasoned.

"Yeah, if Henry's parents move to Bordertown and say Henry's gotta go with them, he'll have to move." Charlotte explained.

I covered my face in my hands and groaned. "I don't want you to move!"

"Airy..." Henry sighed, "guys, what are we gonna do?"

"Somebody could help me sweep?" Jasper asked.

(I'd drop everything to help Jasper. He's so sweet🥺💕)

"No, I'm talking about my dad." Henry told Jasper.

"Okay, when does he start this new job?" My dad asked Henry.

"Um, tomorrow, I think." Henry said, inching his head and I groaned. "Yeah, he's gonna meet Mr. Frittleman, sign some papers and then that's it."

"Uh, alright." My dad began to pace, thinking. "Pace, pace, pace, think, think, think. And snap! Buzz darts!"

"Sorry, did you just say buzz darts?" Henry asked him.

"Hang on a sec." My dad smiled, opening the drawer again, "this drawer's got everything."

Charlotte and I went up to my dad as he pulled out a box and opened it. Inside were some glasses and small darts.

"Have a look at this new invention Schwoz made."

"Buzz darts?" I asked.

"Buzz darts." My dad repeated.

"And, uh, how do buzz darts work?" Charlotte asked as my dad took out the glasses, putting them on.

"I'll show you." My dad said and turned to Henry. "Hey, Henry."

"Mmm?"

My dad tapped the glasses and a buzz dart flew out, but Henry caught it with his super fast reflexes.

"Dude!" Henry exclaimed.

"Hey, you're only supposed to use your super fast reflexes to fight crime, not to wreck my demonstrations." My dad berated Henry.

"Well, I'm sorry, but if I see a buzz dart flying at my face I can't help but move-"

"Naaaaaa! Forget it!" My dad exclaimed and Henry stopped, before my dad turned to Jasper who was still cleaning. "Hey, Jasper!"

"What's up?" Jasper asked, standing up.

My dad coughed and tossed a quarter to the floor. "Oh, I dropped my quarter over there, would you get it for me, please?"

"Yeah, sure." Jasper agreed and set down the mini broom and dustpan set and walked over to the monitor, leaning over it to find the quarter.

My dad leaned closer and shot a buzz dart at Jasper's butt and he cried in pain.

"Ow!" Jasper cried and turned to us, "did you hit me with a dart?"

"Huh, I'm not sure, why?" My dad asked him.

Jasper walked over to us, "cause, when I bent over to get your quarter I-" Jasper stopped talking and he stumbled onto the table. "I feel weird." His body began to spazz out all over the place and Henry instinctively grabbed my arms as Jasper moved by us, groaning and spazzing out.

"That's what buzz darts do?" I asked my dad.

"Yep! They buzz through the air and when they land they don't cause any permanent damage." My dad explained as we watched Jasper fall onto the control panel near the elevator. "But for about a half hour, they impair your nervous system which turns you into...that!"

"And how do those buzz darts help me not move to Bordertown?" Henry asked my dad.

"Simple." My dad smirked and removed his glasses. We waited for an answer, but he never said anything.

"Are you gonna tell us?" I asked him.

"Sure." My dad nodded, "we disguise ourselves as Frittle Employees, then we wait for your dad to show up for his meeting with Frittleman, then blast your dad with a couple of buzz darts."

"Oh, yeah, yeah, then he's gonna be all-" Henry began and Jasper stumbled by us and I leaned back.

"Oh, hello, Mr. Frittleman!" My dad mimicked, impersonating a person who got shot with a buzz dart. "What a beautiful factory you have here! Then, there's no chance Frittleman will hire him to work there."

"Yes, that is perfect!" Henry smiled and my dad poured himself a breath mint.

"Yeah, who's smart!" He popped the mint into his mouth and it exploded, causing smoke to emit from his mouth and he yelled. "Ahhhh! Oh my god! Ah!" He began to cough and I folded my arms.

"I don't know." I shrugged, "who's smart?"

——

You know how it ends😝

I have an idea for how Mary will find out about the secret😉🤭
