Danger Baby Boom
(Gender/name is revealed this chapter 💙💖)
Arabella's POV
I was in the Man Cave with Henry, Charlotte, and Jasper. Henry and I had announced our engagement yesterday and everyone was excited for us, even my dad and Mary were happy for us. After years of dreaming, I'm getting everything I want and I feel happy about it, but at the same time, I feel like I don't deserve it. I don't deserve any of it, and I've been blessed with an undeserving life if I'm being honest. I cherish every moment of my life, but I don't deserve any of it.
Henry and I were cuddling on the couch together and I was looking at the ruby engagement ring on my finger with a giant smile.
"I can't believe my two best friends are gonna get married," Jasper said with and Henry and I gave him a smile. "Am I gonna be the best man?"
"It's between you, Ray, and my dad, so we'll see who gets it," Henry told him and Jasper grinned.
"And the competition begins," he winked and I chuckled.
"Mary or Charlotte are gonna be my maid of honor," I mentioned and Charlotte gave me a grin.
"You know I love you, right Bells?" She questioned and I chuckled lightly.
"Yes, I do," I nodded. "But no matter how much flattering you do, will not guarantee anything."
She pouted playfully at me and I giggled, "fine."
"And besides, Airy and I agreed to wait till we are older to have our wedding," Henry explained and I nodded. "We want to graduate and figure out our life together."
"Whatever you two do, Charlotte and I support it," Jasper smiled and put his arm around a confused Charlotte.
"Yep," she nodded and removed Jasper's arm.
"But right now, I think we need to focus on one thing and that is-"
"Name that baby!"
We all turned and saw my dad, Mary, and Schwoz walk out together.
"Is that the thing we need to focus on?" Henry asked and I nodded.
"Yeah."
"Name the baby?" Charlotte asked and Schwoz brought out a whiteboard with two rows drawn on it. One for girl names and one for boy names.
"Yeah," my dad said and gestured to the whiteboard. "The baby will be here in a few days or sooner, so it's time to choose a baby name for the baby boy or girl."
"So, you all should make your guesses on what gender you think the baby will be," Mary said and Schwoz picked up a marker to write on the board. "So come on, who wants to make a guess and suggest a name first."
"I'll go," Jasper began and stood up. "I want it to be a girl."
"Really?" My dad asked as Schwoz put a tally next to 'girl.'
"Yeah. And if it is a girl, Riley. For a boy, Milo."
"Riley and Milo," Mary smiled. "Those are very nice, Jasper."
He shrugged with a smile, "just excited for Bella's sibling to be born."
I gave Jasper a sweet smile as he sat down.
Charlotte stood up, "I'll go. I want it to be a girl as well." Schwoz tallied next to 'girl' again. "For a girl, Ava. For a boy, Isaac."
"Alright," my dad said and smiled. "Nice names, Char. Henry, Bella?"
I stood up and leaned against the couch, "I also want it to be a girl, but I'd be happy with any gender." Schwoz tallied next to 'girl' again. "For a girl, Violet. For a boy, Max."
"Aw," Mary smiled as Schwoz wrote down the names. "Henry?"
"Alright," Henry sighed and stood next to me. "I want it to be a boy."
"The first tally for a boy," Schwoz said and tallied next to the word 'boy.'
"For a boy, Mark. For a girl, Ella," Henry told them and Schwoz wrote down the names.
"Those are great names," Mary said. "All contenders for what the baby could be named."
"What names did you pick?" I asked them.
"I want it to be a boy," my dad said and Schwoz put a tally next to 'boy.' "Either Aiden or Mirabelle."
"Girl," Mary said. "Either Ariana or Derek."
"Boy," Schwoz said as he tallied the rest of the gender guesses and names. "Either Isabella or Asher."
"Well, I guess it's a waiting game now," I said and everyone agreed.
"Now, let's discuss who will be the maid of honor and best man at your wedding," Mary smirked and Henry and I sighed, rolling our eyes.
——
~A Week Later~
"I want you out!" Mary scolded the baby in her stomach.
It's been a week and the baby hasn't come. It was supposed to be due five days ago, and now Mary is irritated that the baby isn't here.
My dad was exhausted because Mary hasn't been able to sleep and is keeping him up with her tossing and complaining about the baby. Mary hasn't been sleeping at her house, because she's afraid the baby will come when she's sleeping and doesn't want to risk it.
"The baby should've been here by now, why isn't she here!" My dad groaned and rested his exhausted body on the table.
"You think I know?!" Mary asked him with a glare, "why don't you ask the thing growing inside of me?"
Schwoz and I watched as Mary and my dad argued about the child and we slowly backed away from the couple.
It's been a rough few days for all of us.
The elevator doors opened and Henry walked in.
"Hey-" He paused when he saw my parents arguing and gave me a look. "Um... what's happening?"
"They're both exhausted and haven't slept because the baby isn't here," I explained to Henry and he rubbed his neck. "And it's made them both very..."
Mary had climbed on the table and was shaking my dad who was crying and trying to fight her off.
"Moody," I smiled and Schwoz had attempted to try to stop them, but he scurried off like a fearful little bunny.
"Dude, we gotta figure this baby thing out," Henry sighed and I shrugged at this.
"What are we supposed to do?" I asked him, "it's a baby, we can't just rip it out of her."
"Can't they do like surgery on her?" Henry asked.
"A C-section?" I asked him and he nodded, "that's only if the natural birth would be dangerous to Mary or the baby."
"Maybe we can talk to Schwoz and figure out a way for the baby to come," Henry suggested and we both backed up when Mary had grabbed a blaster and aimed it at my dad.
"Mary! Put that down!" My dad exclaimed, backing up and Henry grabbed my arms, moving me away.
"NOT UNTIL THIS BABY IS OUT!"
Mary charged at my dad, who yelled and ran into the back with her behind him.
Henry let go of me and we shared a look of shock.
"Let's go talk to Schwoz," I said and Henry and I left to find Schwoz.
——
~Later~
Henry, Schwoz, Charlotte, Jasper, and I were in the Man Cave. My dad was out getting food for Mary, which is something that calms her down, while Mary herself was sleeping in my dad's bedroom.
"Schwoz," I asked Schwoz, who was researching ways for labor to start. "You find anything?"
"Sort of," he told us and turned to us. "Labor happens naturally, but there are ways to help increase the pace of labor."
"Like what?" Charlotte asked.
"Castor oil," Schwoz pointed at the screen. "It releases an acid that hits the prostaglandin receptors."
Henry, Jasper, and I were confused while Charlotte and Schwoz weren't.
"What?" The three of us asked and the two of them rolled their eyes.
"Castor oil gets the labor ball rolling," Schwoz slowly explains and we nodded, understanding his reasoning.
"We can just use castor oil then," Jasper smiled and Charlotte shook her head.
"But it causes a serious laxative effect," Charlotte reasoned. "So, it wouldn't be the healthiest of choices for Mary's body."
"We have to do something," Henry said. "If Ray wasn't indestructible, Mary would have torn him to pieces by now."
"Yeah, and I know I wouldn't enjoy cleaning Ray pieces off the wall," I remarked.
"Mary could go on long walks or drink some sort of tea to soften the cervix," Schwoz explained. "But, we just have to let the baby come naturally at the point."
"It could be days or weeks before that baby is born," Henry said. "We have to do something."
"And those are my options," Schwoz remarked.
"Wait," Charlotte said and we turned to see her on her phone. "Can't spicy food induce labor?"
"It's never been medically proven," Schwoz reasoned.
"Well, there's this special sauce at the Italian place on Clover Street," Charlotte told us and showed us her phone. "The Pepper Curry there is so spicy that it just pops the baby right out."
"Will it work?" Jasper asked her.
"Gotta try to find out," Charlotte shrugged.
"Well, we can all go there for dinner tonight and hopefully the baby will come," Henry suggested and I nodded. "And if not, Airy, you gotta get ready to scrape Ray pieces off the wall."
"Aw, gross," I cringed and shivered. "That makes me uncomfortable."
——
~That Night~
(Bella's dress for the dinner)
At around 7:30, Henry, Charlotte, Jasper, Schwoz, Mary, my dad, and I were up in Junk'N'Stuff ready to go to the fancy Italian place called Italy and Me.
(Idk, I just came up with that. I suck at making up names for restaurants😂)
"Mary, get out of the bathroom!" I called out to Mary, who was in the bathroom for far too long.
"Why don't you get pregnant and see what I deal with!" She called back with irritation and I awkwardly shifted my weight to the side.
"No," my dad pointed at Henry and me, which made us blush and look away. "Not yet."
"No worries."
"Got it."
I would love to have kids of my own, but I want to graduate and figure out my life first before I even consider any of that.
Mary came out of the bathroom moments later and gave us a smile like nothing happened.
"Ready to go?" She smiled and grabbed my dad's arm, who gave her a nervous smile.
"Let's go," he chuckled nervously and we all left the store together.
"I feel like tonight is gonna be crazy," Charlotte muttered to Henry, Jasper, and I.
"Yep."
"Agreed."
"Absolutely."
——
~Italy and Me~
We got to the restaurant and had just been seated at our table. I was in between Henry and Jasper with Charlotte on the other side of Jasper as Schwoz, Mary, and my dad were on the opposite side of us.
"Hey," Henry nudged me lightly and I looked at him. "You look beautiful."
"You told me that ten times already," I smile at him.
"Don't care," he grinned and I giggled. "I'll tell you a million times and not get tired."
"Well, you look very handsome," I blushed lightly and he kissed my cheek.
"Thanks, love."
I can't believe I'm engaged to this man. Oof, I'm so lucky.
"Do Mary and Ray know why we're here?" Jasper asked us and I nodded.
"Yes, and they are all for it," I explained and looked at his phone to see hundreds of pics of Henry and I. "How many pictures of us do you have on your phone?"
"Like a million," Charlotte chimed in. "I got some too."
"Are you crazy?" I asked them, "send them to me, please."
"Send what?" Henry asked and I motioned to their phones.
"Char and Jasp have pictures of us on their phones," I told them. "And didn't send them to us."
"What?" He asked and chuckled, "send them to me as well."
"Alright," they said and Henry and I smiled at them.
Our waiter came over and took our order. Since this place is known for having pregnant women come in, they had a special menu for them and Mary obviously ordered off it. I almost did, but like, I gotta save room for dessert. I just got the Fettuccine Alfredo, which is the same as Charlotte.
Gotta think ahead. Dessert is the most important meal of the day.
The waiter left and not much happened when we waited for our food to come. Just some small conversations and a few laughs were shared, which made it nice to not hear Mary and my dad yelling at each other about the baby not coming.
"Bella," Mary said. "Do you think this sauce is gonna work?"
I shrugged, "I hope so, or else I got dressed up for nothing."
"Not just for my enjoyment?" Henry asked and I whacked his arm playfully.
Our waiter came back a few minutes later and gave us a smile, "I'm sorry, but we are out of our Pepper Curry today."
Well, that's unfortunate.
Mary gave him a look and sighed, "really?"
"Yes, I'm so sorry," he apologized. "We can give you the same meal, but with our Alfredo sauce instead."
"That's fine," Mary said with disappointment and the waiter gave her a smile, before walking away.
"I'm sorry, sweetie," my dad apologized to her and Schwoz looked like he was thinking.
"That doesn't make sense," Schwoz mentions and we looked at him.
"What doesn't make sense?" Henry asked him.
"Where we came in, I saw five jugs of the Pepper Curry," Schwoz explained and his eyes lit up. "See."
Schwoz pointed and we turned to see a waitress serving food to a family and Pepper Curry was within the food.
"What the-"
"What?"
Mary seemed annoyed and wanted to do something, but my dad kept her down and rubbed her arm.
"Don't do anything, I'll handle this," my dad told us, before getting up and going to confront an employee or the manager.
"Why would they serve Pepper Curry to them but not us?" Jasper asked with confusion.
"What if they don't want to serve it to pregnant women?" Charlotte asked and I gave her a look.
"What do you mean?"
"Think about it, this place is known for their Pepper Curry," she began and looked away. "But look at people who have it. Not a single pregnant woman has it."
I looked around and noticed that no pregnant woman had Pepper Curry.
"That's weird," I said and shared a look with Henry.
"It's ridiculous," Mary scoffed and shook her head.
"Why would they do that?" I asked with confusion.
"Maybe they don't enjoy women going into labor at their restaurant," Schwoz reasoned.
"That's rude," Mary snarled and Schwoz leaned away from her.
My dad came back and sat down with irritation on his face.
"What happened?" Henry asked him.
"They claim that they ran out after they served the other families," my dad explained. "But that's obviously not true."
"Charlotte thinks they don't serve the Curry to pregnant women," I explained.
"What?" My dad asked, "why?"
"Probably because they don't enjoy women going into labor here," Schwoz repeated.
"We came here for that curry and now I can't get it," Mary sighed. "Why don't we just leave?"
"No," my dad protested and took her hand. "We already ordered, so we should just stay and eat."
Mary sighed again, "alright."
"I'm sorry," I apologized to her and she gave me a sad smile.
——
Our food came and Mary was still a little down about the curry thing. It irks me that pregnant women can't have it, because of the risk of them going into labor and it's stupid.
I just want my baby brother or sister to be here for goodness sake.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom," I told everyone, before getting up and heading for the bathroom.
I walked toward the bathroom and sneakily watched what was happening inside the kitchen. The door was opened slightly and I slowed my pace down to listen in.
"If we give this curry to the five pregnant women that asked, it's gonna turn into Labor City around here," the guy, who looked like the manager, explained.
"But someone questioned why we couldn't give his girlfriend the curry but to other families," a waiter reasoned. "And it's also not fair to them."
"We're not doing it, and that's the end of the story," the manager concluded, before heading toward the door and I immediately scurried to the bathroom.
Charlotte and Schwoz were right. They're always right, so I'm not surprised.
I walked into the bathroom and saw a pregnant woman looking at the mirror. She seemed to be at her maximum size and looked very much in pain.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked the woman and she nodded with an exhausted sigh.
"Yeah," she said. "I just wish my baby boy would come, but it's been a week and he isn't here."
"My mom has the same issue," I explained. "My little brother or sister is a week late and we came here for the-
"Curry," she finished with me and she continued. "And they said they are out."
"They told us that too," I remarked. "And my friends think they are keeping the curry from pregnant women because they don't want this place to become Labor City."
"That's ridiculous," she told me with disbelief. "Do they not understand how difficult it is having a child inside their bellies?"
"I wouldn't know," I chuckled. "My dad would get upset if my boyfriend got me pregnant. I'm surprised he took my engagement well."
"Aw, congrats!" She smiled and I grinned with pink cheeks. "He's a lucky man."
"Thank you," I say. "But, this isn't about me. This is about the pregnant women here and we need to get that curry."
"But how?"
Suddenly, Charlotte came into the bathroom and she seemed confused.
"Bella," she began. "What's going on? Everyone thinks you fell in the toilet again."
"It was one time!" I groan, "let it go."
Charlotte smiled with amusement, before gesturing to the woman. "Who's she?"
"A fellow victim of the curry scandal," I told her and she gave me a weird look. "I'm calling it that, don't judge me."
"Wasn't going to."
"It's good."
"Anyway, I overheard the manager and he said he is keeping the curry from pregnant women," I explained. "So, I think we need to make a plan to get that curry and give it to the women."
"But how?" The pregnant woman repeated and Charlotte and I shared a look.
"We have an idea."
——
~Ten Minutes Later~
Charlotte and I were back at our table and we explained our situation. It involved Captain Man and a pregnant Mary pretending to go into labor.
"When is Ray gonna come in?" Jasper asked us as we patiently waited for Captain Man to arrive.
"Soon," Henry muttered to him. "I think he's waiting for Mary to get up."
Mary gave us a thumbs up, before getting up and walking toward the bathroom.
"Alright, here we go," I tell them.
"AHHHH!"
We looked over and saw Mary standing there, holding her belly.
"I think my water broke!" She cried out, "help me!"
A few waiters and waitresses came over as I got up and went up to them. The others got up and stood a few feet behind me.
"It alright," a waiter told her. "Just stay calm and breathe."
Mary nodded and suddenly everyone gasped loudly and murmured.
"Captain Man!"
"Oh my gosh! It's Captain Man!"
My dad walked in dressed at Captain Man and smiled at everyone.
"Hello," he greeted and they applauded him. "Thank you! Thank you! Yes, I am awesome!"
Henry, Jasper, Charlotte, Schwoz, and I rolled our eyes and shook our heads.
"Captain Man!" Mary smiled and groaned, "Hey, could you possibly help me?"
Captain Man approached Mary and took her arm, "you alright, ma'am?"
"My water broke and I need to go to the hospital," Mary said and this signaled Jasper and Henry to leave and try to get the curry from the back.
"I'll get you to the hospital," he agreed and the people around us clapped and cheered as my dad led Mary away.
"Go, Captain Man!"
"Woah!"
"Yeah!"
"Captain Man is the best!"
"My fiancé is outside," Mary told my dad, who nodded and I followed them. "And his daughter is right here."
"I bet he's handsome," he smirked.
"Don't push it," Mary and I muttered and he nodded with a grin.
"Alright."
I looked back and gestured to Charlotte and Schwoz, who gave me a thumbs up and tried to find Henry and Jasper.
My dad led us outside and Mary exhaled with a chuckle.
"Alright," she said. "I hope they can get that curry."
"Yeah," I said and my dad hid behind a pole and changed back into himself.
Henry, Jasper, Charlotte, and Schwoz walked out of the restaurant moments later and Charlotte had a small bowl of curry in her hands
"We got it!" Jasper smiled and we all cheered.
"Yeah!" I smile and turned to Mary, who had a look of panic on her face.
"Oh no," she gasped quietly and I took her shoulder.
"Mary, eat this," my dad told her and she shook her head.
"Oh no," she repeated.
"What's wrong?" Henry asked.
"What do you think?!" She asked, "the baby's coming!"
All of us panicked and my dad went up to Mary and Jasper groaned.
"So, we got this for nothing?!" He asked and Henry rubbed his back.
"It's the thought that counts."
"We gotta get Mary to the hospital," my dad said. "Schwoz, help her to the car."
"Yes, boss," he said and immediately helped Mary to the car.
"Ray," she said and my dad gave her a reassuring look as Schwoz took her to the car.
"Henry, Jasper, Charlotte," my dad began. "Stay here and make sure all those women get that curry."
"Seriously?"
"What?"
"Are you nuts?"
"Dad," I began. "I think we have bigger issues."
"If you just give a little bit of this curry to them, then it should be fine, and then you'll meet us at the hospital which is right down the street," my dad told them and began to back up. "Let's go, Bella."
"Okay," I said and followed my dad. "Good luck!"
My dad and I approached the car and got inside. I got in the back with my dad and Schwoz immediately drove off.
Mary was breathing heavily and looked like she about to explode. My dad was visibly shaking and was sweating like crazy.
"Why am I so nervous?!" He asked and laughed, "I'm just giving birth to a child?!"
"YOU?!" Mary yelled, "this is all me, mister! You don't have to deal with the pain of having a child in you for nine freaking months!"
My dad slumped down in the seat and whined with anxiety.
"AHHHHHH!"
"Mary, just stay calm," I told her.
"I could if you were QUIET!" She snapped and I leaned back, not daring to say another word.
"I'm just gonna stay silent," Schwoz said and chuckled nervously when Mary glared at him.
"Let's have this baby," I muttered with a tiny grin.
——
~Two Hours Later; Swellview Hospital~
I was in the hospital room with my dad, Schwoz, Mary, and a new life. Mary had just given birth and we were smiling over the new baby. I was absolutely in love with the baby, I can't believe I'm an older sister.
"Oh wow," I smile and gently stroke the baby's head.
"I made this," my dad said and I giggled. "I made this."
"We made this," Mary added and my dad kissed her lips.
"I know, love."
"Adorable," Schwoz smiled at the baby, who yawned and made me feel like I had just seen the cutest puppy in the world.
"Aww," I coo and Mary smiled at me. "What a beautiful baby girl."
"She's beautiful, isn't she?" She asked and I nodded.
"My little sister," I smile and the baby wrapped her tiny hand around my finger. "Aw."
"She likes you," my dad said and I smile.
"Well, I love her," I say softly and my dad smiles.
The door opened and Henry, Jasper, and Charlotte sneaked in quietly.
"We're here," Henry whispered and I gave him a smile.
"It was crazy, but we managed to give the curry to the women," Charlotte told us and immediately smiled at my little sister. "Oh my gosh, it's a girl."
"Yay!" Jasper cheered.
"She's precious," Henry smiled and took my hand, "What name did you pick?"
"Well, we decided to call her-"
"Violet," my dad finished and I gasped with happiness.
"That was mine," I say and giggle. "Yay!"
Henry kissed my head and put his arm around my shoulder.
Mary suddenly began to cry and this worried us.
"Mary, what's wrong?" Schwoz asked and she sniffled.
"I just can't stop crying," she cried and wiped her eyes.
"Doctor said it's completely normal to cry after giving birth," my dad explained. "Especially with all the hormones."
"Jasper," Charlotte sighed and I looked to see Jasper was crying. "Don't cry."
"I cry when I see other people cry," he said and wiped his eyes. "I'm sorry!"
Charlotte rubbed his back with an eye roll.
"Bella, wanna hold her?" My dad asked and I smiled with delight.
"Can I?" I asked and Mary gently placed Violet in my arms.
"Careful," she said and my eyes were locked onto my sister.
"Hi there," I greeted with a heartfelt giggle and a tear escaped my eye. "It's nice to meet you."
Henry squeezed my shoulder and I gave him a soft smile for a moment.
"I'm Arabella," I say and Violet reaches her hand up to me. "You're older sister... I can't believe I have a baby sister."
"Charlotte, can you take a picture of us?" My dad asked Charlotte, who took his phone, and my dad and I huddled around Mary as Henry, Jasper, Schwoz, and Charlotte moved back. I handed Violet back to Mary, and we smiled at the phone camera.
"Wait," Mary said. "Eden isn't here. It's not right to not have my oldest daughter here."
"FaceTime her," I said and Mary called Eden on FaceTime.
Eden picked up and she smiled, "hi mom!"
"Hey, sweetie!" She greeted and showed Eden her sister. "Meet your new baby sister, Violet."
Eden gasped, "OMG! I love her! She's adorable!"
"I know," Mary smiled. "Ray, Bella, and I are gonna take a picture with her, but you aren't here and it doesn't feel right without you. So we'd thought we'd FaceTime you and include you."
"Love it!" Eden smiled, "let's take it."
Mary handed the phone to me and I waved at Eden.
"Hey," I greeted and she smiled.
"Hey, Bella!"
I turned the phone to the camera and all of us smiled at it. Charlotte took the picture and I sighed with happiness.
I have my family and I couldn't ask for better
——
~Later That Night; Man Cave~
I walked down the stairs from the sprocket with Violet in my arms and smiled softly.
"This is where you're gonna grow up," I tell her softly. "It's definitely not normal, but normal's boring. I've had some of the craziest adventures here and I wouldn't trade it for the world." I looked down at Violet. "I wouldn't trade you for the world."
She smiles at me and I gave her a gentle nose kiss, "life will definitely be crazy, but you have a father, mother, sister, and close friends to take care of you and love you."
"Hey," I turned my head and Mary was right there. "Whatcha doing?"
"Giving Violet a proper welcome home," I tell her and we smiled down at my sister. "Welcome home, Violet Manchester."
