Cave The Date
(I kind of forget about Violet halfway through, so just imagine she's there for the beginning and then asleep during the restaurant stuff)
Arabella's POV
I was in the Man Cave with Schwoz, Charlotte, Violet, and my mom. Charlotte was reading a book, Schwoz was playing chess with himself, Mary was reading a book to Violet, and I was on my laptop checking out Julliard and what it has to offer. Graduation is coming up soon and I need to give the school an answer on whether I am going or not, and I would really like to go. The school has everything I want for the possible career I want to pursue in life and it's been my dream to become a professional singer or actor. The only thing holding me back is Henry, how he feels about this is the most important thing in the world. If he says I should stay, then I stay, if he says I go, then I will. This whole thing has been stressing me out for so long, I haven't been able to sleep cause of the anxiety it's caused. I'm gonna try to tell him today when he, Jasper, and my dad get back soon, they went to go throw melons at that abandoned house people through melons on. As much as I wanted to go, I've been so stressed about the Julliard thing I haven't had time to do anything else. I'm so exhausted, why is my life so complicated?
I ignored Schwoz as he played chess with himself until he spit his tea out and I gave him a look.
"Do you ever get bored playing chess against yourself?" I asked him with a yawn.
"No I don't," he denied. "But I sometimes do."
My phone buzzed and I saw I got a message from Henry, saying he and the guys are returning.
I groaned, "the guys are coming back!"
Charlotte and my mom groaned at this before both getting up and tossing their books in the shredding machine.
"Why did you two do that?" Schwoz asked them.
"Ray gets mad whenever people do smart stuff in front of him," my mom remarked. "He even doesn't like it when I read to Violet, he's the only one who can."
"Give me the chessboard," Charlotte ordered Schwoz as I closed my laptop and put it under the table.
"But I got myself right where I want me," Schwoz protested.
"You'll get yourself next time," Charlotte told him and gestured again before Schwoz handed her the chessboard and pieces. Charlotte dumped the board and pieces into the shredding machine, where the board got shredded.
"Where were they anyway?" Schwoz asked as Charlotte dumped the rest of the pieces into the shredding machine with my mom.
"They went to throw melons at the abandoned house that people throw melons at," I explained to him.
"Without me?" Schwoz pouted with his teacup and kettle in hand, "But I've been saving melons for months."
I looked over at the pile of old and nasty melons Schwoz has been collecting for months. I grimaced at the sight before looking away.
"They should be back soon, I just asked them to swing by my house and pick up my phone charger on their way back," Charlotte informed us and I looked up at her with wide eyes.
That's a bad idea. They need adult supervision.
"You sent Ray, Henry, and Jasper to your house with no adult supervision?" Schwoz questioned her with me and my mom giving her a look.
"That's a terrible idea," my mom told her.
"What's the problem?" Charlotte shrugged before the elevator doors opened and in walked Henry, my dad, and Jasper with ratted clothes with ashes all over them and messed up hair.
Every day is a new adventure, isn't it?
The boys were talking about something and I didn't really care until Charlotte noticed them and interrupted them.
My mom and I shared a look as she sat down next to me and we listened to Charlotte berate the boys.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Charlotte began and the three turned to her.
"Hey."
"What's up?"
"Hey."
"Hi."
"Hey."
"Hey."
"Hey."
"Hi."
Charlotte waited for them to finish and put her hands on her hips, "did you go to my house?"
"Sure did," Henry smiled.
"Yep," my dad nodded.
"Walked right in," Jasper said.
"So, what happened?" Charlotte asked and the three shared an uncertain look.
"We....."
"Got your phone charger," Henry grinned, holding a burnt charger and Charlotte took it only to yelp and toss it to the ground.
"Ahhh!" She yelled, "why's it hot?"
"Cuz we pulled it out of the fire," Jasper reasoned and my mom and I sighed, hanging out heads.
There it is.
"You are welcome," my dad said and they began to walk away. "Let's hit the showers!"
"Woooo!" Jasper cheered.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!" Charlotte stopped them once again and the boys groaned at her, muttering about Charlotte's attitude.
"Did you guys light my house on fire?" Charlotte asked.
"I think it's obvious they did," I mentioned and the boys gave me a look, which made me grin.
The boys tried to deny what they did, before giving in and admitting their mistake of lighting her house on fire. They admitted it was just the kitchen, but Charlotte was still outraged by them.
"The rest of the house, totally fine," my dad finished and I rolled my eyes.
This is why my dad needs adult supervision or any of the guys, besides Schwoz.
"HOW DID YOU GUYS LIGHT MY KITCHEN ON FIRE?" Charlotte yelled in anger and I held my head.
"Not too loud," I groaned quietly and my mom rubbed my back.
"This is gonna be good, let me get some poopcorn," Schwoz beamed and jogged over to the Auto-Snacker.
"Large please," I called and he winked at me in response.
"What happened?" My mom asked the boys, getting up and standing next to Charlotte.
"Okay, first of all... we couldn't find a light switch anywhere," my dad began and I rolled my eyes as I rested my chin on the couch.
"It was very dark," Henry added.
"And kind of cold," Jasper said.
"I happen to have a flare on me," my dad continued.
"Which would solve both problems," Jasper added.
"Oh my god," Charlotte and I muttered with a sigh.
"When do you not have a flare on you?" My mom asked my dad.
"Great question, sweetie," my dad asked as Schwoz returned with a bowl of popcorn and 3d glasses. He handed a pair to me and we put them on, watching the scene go down as we ate the popcorn.
"Show them," Henry smiled before my dad whipped out a flare and lit it.
"Oooo," I smiled at the flame.
"Nooo," Charlotte and my mom said, but got ignored.
"Okay! So, I had a flare in your kitchen," my father began.
"And then we started exploring," Jasper continued.
"First thing we found were the curtains," Henry added in. "Well, the flare found them."
My dad laughed, "those things went up fast."
Jasper mimicked the fire with his hands as the boys laugh, but Charlotte was enraged as my mom stood there shaking her head.
"Did you guys try to put it out?!" Charlotte exclaimed.
"Yes!"
"Of course we did!"
"But um, you know that saying fight fire with fire?" Henry asked her.
"Yeah, that does not work," my dad mentioned.
"No," Jasper shook his head.
"Let's hit the showers," my dad told the boys.
"WOOOO!" Jasper cheered as they turned around, but Charlotte and my mom stopped them once again.
"NO, NO, NOBODIES HITTIN THE SHOWERS!" Charlotte screamed and the boys turned around with loud groans as my dad extinguished the flare.
"Woah, woah, woah, what's your problem with showers, ladies?" Jasper asked her.
"Yeah, right?" My dad asked and got the evil eye from his wife.
"I said nothing," he quickly retracted and she rolled her eyes. "Let's hit the showers!"
"WOOOOO!" Jasper cheered again, but they once again got stopped and turned back around.
"You guys! What about my kitchen?" Charlotte yelled and the boys groaned, remembering they lit her kitchen on fire.
"Oh yeah, they lit your kitchen on fire," I remembered with a chuckle, but shut up when Charlotte glared at me. "Sorry."
"I'll take care of it," Schwoz assured her as the both of us removed the 3d glasses and moved the popcorn aside. "You'll have a new kitchen in six to eight weeks. Take a look at these cabinet samples." Schwoz pulled out some samples of cabinets and they all looked lovely, "we could try oak or maybe mahogany."
"That's nice!" I mentioned and the guys agreed with me.
"I don't need a new kitchen in six to eight weeks, I need a kitchen today," Charlotte informed us.
"Why?" Henry asked.
"Yeah, what's your deal?" My dad asked her and Henry scoffed.
"My deal is that I have a date tonight with Jack Swagger and I was going to make him dinner at my house!" Charlotte screamed and I rubbed her back to try to calm her down.
"Wait," Henry said.
"You know Jack Swagger?" Jasper asked and I nodded, "International superstar Jack Swagger?"
"Youngest person to win a Grammy Jack Swagger?" Schwoz asked her and I nodded once again.
"You have a date?" My dad asked and my mom hit his arm.
"You guys didn't know?" I asked them and they looked clueless.
"Yes, with Jack Swagger!" Charlotte said and Jasper was in disbelief, almost speechless until he spoke.
"How do you know Jack Swagger?"
"We went to camp together like ten years ago back when he was Jack Swagowitz?" Charlotte explained and Henry and Jasper were shocked.
Just now realizing how sad it is that we don't listen to Charlotte and this just proves it. She's mentioned it like every day and only my mom and I listen.
"Okay, how do we not know this until now?" Henry asked her.
"I knew," I scoffed and he gave me a look.
"What?!" The boys asked.
"I've told you guys like a million times, you guys just never listen to me," Charlotte remarked and they didn't believe her.
"Uhhhh...." Charlotte began and we went into a flashback.
——
-Flashback-
"Truth or flare!" Henry said to Charlotte, shoving the flare in her face.
"Truth," she said.
"Uhh, who's the first person you ever smooched?" Jasper asked her.
"Jack Swagger, summer camp, back when he was Jack Swagowitz," Charlotte replied and I smiled with shock.
"Seriously?" I said and she nodded with a smile, "that's sick!!"
"Dude, dude, check me out!" Henry said to Jasper, not listening to Charlotte, "I'm Flarry Potter!"
I chuckled at him as he waved the flare around.
"Magic! Magic!"
"You're a wizard, Flarry Potter! Yes!" Jasper spoke in a weird voice and the boys laughed
-End of Flashback-
——
"Okay, fine, you told us one time-
"Uhhhh," Charlotte trailed off again and another flashback began.
——
-Flashback; Henry's house-
Charlotte's phone buzzed and Henry glanced up at her.
"Who's that from?" He asked, looking up from the video I was showing him.
"Jack Swagger, we went to camp together," Charlotte exclaimed and I grinned.
"You two going on a date?" I giggled and she blushed as I heard a thud behind me, but ignored it assuming my father just fell down again.
"He's playing at the Swellview Bowl tonight, we're going to go out for dinner-"
Ice cream truck music began to play and I gasped, hopping to my feet.
"Ice cream man!" Jasper and I exclaimed as he fell out of his seat and onto the ground.
"Oh my gosh," Henry gasped as Jasper cried like a baby.
-End of Flashback-
——
Charlotte stood there with her arms folded and I looked at the boys.
"Okay, so, you mentioned it twice," Jasper shrugged.
"Scientists say that you have to hear something three times to be legally remembered?" Henry informed.
"Uhhh..." Charlotte trailed off for a third time and it led to another flashback.
No more flashbacks, let's just skip this one, my head hurts too much.
The flashback ended and the boys were confused. The flashback Charlotte mentioned was from today like an hour ago when they went to pick up her charger.
"Wow, was that today?" Henry asked.
"That was an hour ago," I remarked.
"An hour ago, today?" He repeated and I rolled my eyes, rubbing my forehead.
"And I can think of seven more times I've told you guys," Charlotte added, but they denied her offer.
"I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it too and so did my mom," I chimed in and my mom nodded.
"Well, Jack was supposed to come to my house and have dinner tonight, but now I can't make him dinner," Charlotte groaned.
"Why not?" My dad asked her, "we got your phone charger."
"Because you burnt down my kitchen!" Charlotte yelled, slapping him with her charger and he yelped, backing away with the guys
"Last time I checked, you can't make food with a phone charger," my mom told him and he sighed as Charlotte stopped her rage.
"Just take him to that restaurant Sotto Voco," my dad suggested. "Nice place, romantic, kitchen not burned."
"That you know of," I added.
"That I know of," my dad repeated and I nodded.
Henry and I never went to Sotto Voce, because it brought him memories of when he was the man-beast, so we decided to stay away. Or that he was banned from there-
"We tried that, he's too famous, he gets mobbed wherever he goes," Charlotte explained.
Honestly, I could say I relate to her because I am dating Kid Danger, but nobody knows and Henry and I have never been spotted together alone at a restaurant where he's Kid Danger. That would cause lots of problems.
"Yeah, I met him at the dentist once, tackled him, turns out different guy," Schwoz mentioned and my eyes grew for a second.
"So, you guys can only have dates at your house?" Henry asked Charlotte.
"Or secret restaurants," Charlotte told him. "Like one time in New York, he took me to this cool underground spot below a fake laundromat-"
Sounds sketchy, but you go, girlfriend.
"I GOT IT!"
I let out a yell as Jasper yelled and slipped off the couch with a thud.
"Must you yell," I groaned as my dad helped me to my feet and I leaned against the back of the couch.
"You need someplace to turn into a fake restaurant, aye?" Jasper began, walking up to Charlotte. "Someplace...nobody knows about... somewhere underground... I say we make a fake restaurant in... Henry's house."
"Yes," my dad agreed.
"That's not underground though," I mentioned.
"No," Henry denied.
"Why not?" My mom asked.
"There's a hawk in my house," Henry remarked and I made a face.
"A hawk in your house?" I asked him and he shrugged.
"That's what Piper said."
"Have you been able to go into your house?" My mom asked him and he thought for a moment.
"I may need to crash here until the hawk leaves..." he mentioned and I smiled.
"Fine with me."
"Separate beds," my dad and mom said together.
"Fine..." Henry and I sighed.
"Okay, so we'll do it in Mary's house-"
"No," my mom cut Jasper off. "my cousin and his family are visiting and they brought their family of snakes."
Everyone went 'oh' at that and my mom nodded with a sigh, "Yeah, family reunions aren't fun."
(Btw, even though Ray and Mary are married, Mary still owns her house so nothing is questioned about her randomly disappearing and moving into a place half a mile underground. It also comes in handy later on)
"Okay, so we'll do it in the Man Cave," Jasper suggested.
"Do what in the Man Cave?" My dad asked.
"Make it a secret restaurant," Jasper said and I nodded, liking his idea.
"Yes!" Charlotte agreed.
"No, we're not turning the Man Cave into a secret restaurant," my dad quickly denied and I stood straight up, walking toward Henry who looked worried.
"You alright?" He whispered, rubbing my back and I sighed.
"Exhausted and stressed," I confessed to him and he wrapped his arms around me, bringing me into his chest.
"Period?"
"Shut up."
"You owe me!" I heard Charlotte yell at my dad, "you burned my kitchen, you never listen to me, you get mad at me when I read books in the Man Cave!"
"I knew I smelled books in here!" My dad exclaimed and Charlotte rolled her eyes, throwing her arms in the air.
My dad went up to the shredding machine and checked it out as Charlotte continued to berate him, "you owe me!"
"Ray," my mom said. "Do this for her."
My dad glanced between his wife and Charlotte, "fine...we'll turn the Man Cave into a restaurant"
"Yes!" Charlotte cheered and came over to Henry, Jasper, and me.
"Who was playing chess?!"
We looked over at my dad, who had just found a chess piece and Schwoz averted his eyes.
"Schwoz..." my dad began with betrayal before Schwoz yelled and rushed into the back with my dad at his tail.
——
~That Night; Man Cave~
I was in the Man Cave restaurant we spent all day creating for Charlotte's date with Jack Swagger, making sure everything was perfect and ready. This is important to Charlotte and I want what's best for my best friend, not to mention having a super hot celebrity is gonna be here. Everyone stares at Jack Swagger, even Mrs.Hart, and my mother. I'm allowed.
The name of the restaurant was Füd, which sounds stupid, but you change the two Os' to a 'U' and put two dots over it and it sounds fancy.
Jasper was here as well and he was working the front of the house, Henry was the waiter, my dad was the chef, I don't know what Schwoz was, and my mom and I were the entertainment. By entertainment, we mean music, not whatever you have going on in those dirty minds of yours. Piper was gonna head on over with a baby grand piano, so my mom and I could have some music to sing along to. Piper doesn't know how to play, so she's just gonna pretend and play music from her phone. She claims no one knows how to play, because there are a million buttons on the thing, but my mom and I do. I don't know what she's on about honestly.
We were dressed up for the occasion as well. I had on a tight purple dress with black tights with flower designs and black heel boots, while my mom had on a black dress with black heels.
I was checking the table Charlotte and Jack were gonna be seated at when the elevator doors opened and in walked Henry wearing a suit and tie with an apron around his waist.
Hot.
"Sorry I'm late, hawk grabbed my tie, wouldn't give it back," Henry apologized and I smiled at the handsomeness in front of me. "Luckily, my dad distracted it with his face."
"Is he okay?" I asked him.
"Uh, yeah, he's okay," Henry nodded. "He's got, like, razor talons and, like, a knife beak, so."
"No, she meant your dad," Jasper corrected and I nodded.
"Oh no, he's in serious pain," Henry remarked. "This place looks great, where's Ray and Mary?"
"My mom's in the bathroom," I respond.
"Chef's in the kitchen," Jasper grinned.
"Where's the kitchen?" Henry asked and I smirked.
"Behind the soundproof curtain," Jasper and I said together and then fist-bumped.
"What?" Henry gasped with shock, before approaching the curtain and opening it to be met with my father yelling in anger.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I JUST HAD IT! HOW COULD I LOSE-"
Henry let the curtain fall back down and I chuckled as Jasper pointed to the curtain which made Henry open it again.
"IT WAS HERE TWO SECONDS AGO! I SWEAR ON MY FATHER'S PRE-PURCHASED BURIAL-"
Henry let go of the curtain and groaned, "chef sounds mad."
"Yeah, we should check on him," Jasper agreed and I scoffed.
"Sounds like a 'you' problem, I'm gonna go find my mom," I grinned, before kissing both their cheeks and rushing off.
——
A little bit later, Piper came down dressed in a beautiful red dress and had the baby grand piano set in place, which doesn't look like a baby at all. It's a huge piano, what about this makes it a baby?
Piper and I were currently lighting the candles she had brought, while my mom was dusting the piano. Jasper had gone up to the store to bring down Charlotte and Jack, while the other guys were still in the kitchen doing god knows what. Probably something stupid with flares.
"What did I tell you about using flares in the kitchen, dude?!" I heard Henry exclaim as I saw him backing out of the kitchen, blowing a fire extinguisher.
"What did I tell you about playing chess?!" My dad called back.
"That was Schwoz, dude! Chess is for nerds!" Henry protested.
"Ha, yeah it is! We good, Henry!" My dad called back before Henry closed the curtain and turned to us.
"What you got there? A soundproof curtain?" Piper asked Henry and I nodded.
"Yes, and I appreciate it very much," I mention with relief.
"Piper? How'd you get this piano down here?" Henry asked her
"Schwoz has a thing," Piper answered.
Schwoz has a thing for everything.
"Why do you have a piano down here?" Henry asked.
"This is my baby grand, baby," Piper informed. "I'm gonna play some slow jams for Bella and Mary for tasty tips."
"There's one person coming to dinner," Henry reasoned.
"He's more than a person," I laugh.
"Yeah, he's not a person, he's a celebrity," Piper agreed.
"You wouldn't understand," My mom grinned at the famous sidekick as Piper placed a tip jar on the piano.
"Do you even know how to play the piano?" Henry asked walking by us to put the extinguisher away.
Piper laughed as she sat down on the piano bench, "besides Mary and Bella, nobody knows how to play the piano. I mean, look at this thing, there's like a million buttons. These girls are magic."
My mom and I grin and fit bump, "that's right!"
"Fortunately, my phone just has one button," Piper continued and played a slow jazz song on her phone and pretended to play the piano keys.
"Have I mentioned you look beautiful?" Henry questioned me as he picked up two menus and I smiled softly.
"Not yet," I reply with folded arms.
"Well, you look absolutely beautiful," he winked and planted a gentle kiss on my cheek.
"You don't look too bad yourself, Hart," I giggle and he grinned softly at me before the elevator doors opened to reveal Charlotte on her feet and Jack on the ground.
I swiftly hopped onto the piano, sitting on it with my mom leaning against it beside me as Jack and Charlotte approached us. Look at that man, dang he's hot and Charlotte is beautiful too, but Jack.
Wow.
"Hey, look! A piano!" Charlotte smiled and my mom and I waved at the two.
"Hey, nice playing, I love a little slow jam," Jack praised and I smiled at him.
"Money speaks louder than words," Piper mentioned.
"Please tip us," my mom and I sang to him. "We aren't being paid enough."
Jack gave us an impressed smile and placed a hundred dollar bill in the tip jar and I grinned.
"Thank you!" We sang together before Heny stepped forward.
"Uh, we have your table right over here," Henry gestured and the couple sat down at the center table. "Thank you."
I noticed Piper do something, but when we all looked she was smiling and playing the piano.
"So, what's this place called?" Jack asked as Henry approached their table.
"It's called Füd," Charlotte replied.
"That's dumb," Jack said and I snickered, nodding.
"Ray came up with that name," my mom mentioned to me. "It's cute."
Henry chuckled, "is it? What if I told you it's food spelled with a 'U' with two dots over it."
Jack took the menu and saw the name, grinning.
"See, now that's cool," Jack said. "Cool spelled with a 'U' with two dots over it."
Henry laughed lightly, "this guy gets it, this guy gets it."
Henry handed Charlotte her menu before walking away.
"Alright, Jack is no longer hot to me," I stated.
"Good," Henry said before he disappeared behind the curtain.
——
Time passed and Charlotte and Jack got their appetizers. At the moment, nothing bad was happening and the couple was enjoying their meal peacefully and they looked adorable. I ship "Jacklotte" all the way, when's the wedding?
My mom and I were just harmonizing soft and slow notes together, nothing major just keeps things in the mood. This the most calm I've been in a while.
Charlotte and Jack were talking, but Jack noticed my dad, Henry, and Schwoz standing there watching. Charlotte turned to them, giving them an awkward smile.
"Uh, don't you guys have to go cook our dinner or something?" Charlotte asked the boys.
"Dinners in the oven," my dad grinned.
"All good," Henry said before the elevator slammed to the floor and the doors opened to reveal Jasper walking out with another couple.
Oh no, who do I have to kill? What-
"Dinner's right this way, table for two," Jasper smiled, but all of us were confused by the two walking in.
The calm was nice while it lasted.
I jumped off the piano and my mom and I approached the boys with alarm as my dad protested against this.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no," my dad said before Jasper gestured to my fiancé.
"This is Henry," Jasper introduced as Henry politely shook their hands. "He'll be taking care of you this evening."
"This is Mary and Arabella, our lovely entertainment for the evening," Jasper continued, gesturing to us and we waved awkwardly at them.
"And what a treat, you get to meet our chefs," Jasper finished, gesturing to my dad and Schwoz.
"First question, do we have any food allergies we need to worry about?" Schwoz asks the couple before my dad took his and Jasper's arms with an angered smile.
"Give us a sec," my dad said before pulling them away and into the kitchen.
Henry and I followed them into the kitchen shortly after, while my mom stayed.
"-secret restaurant down here," I heard Jasper finish and I made a face.
"What?" Henry and I ask.
"Or her name wouldn't be blaze," Jasper finished and I grabbed my head.
"You irk the parts of my brain that shouldn't hurt," I groan, which made Henry rub my back.
"Also, Piper posted a selfie with Jack Swagger," Jasper added and this irritated all of us.
"Of course she did," I sighed, shaking my head with disappointment.
"Well, that's just perfect!" My dad exclaimed.
"So, now the entire internet knows there's a secret restaurant under Junk'N'Stuff," Schwoz remarked.
"I'm afraid so," Jasper nodded. "I'll probably be back later with more bad news. Byeeeeeee!"
Jasper left the kitchen and I covered my face with annoyance, before sighing and uncovering it.
"Is there a way to hurt your sister without actually hurting her?" I asked Henry and he made a face at me.
"Why?" He asked and I shifted my eyes to the side, before smiling and backing out of the kitchen.
"No reason,"
My mom was the first person I saw and she was waiting for me to tell her what happened.
"Piper posted a selfie with Jack," I muttered as Piper was singing about her tip jar to the other customers.
"That's just wonderful," my mom groaned and I looked at Charlotte and Jack, who seemed uncomfortable.
I feel so bad for them.
"Things can't get much worse," I mentioned to my mom before the elevator doors opened, and in walked Jasper, Jake, and Kris.
I quickly turned away and let out an exhale to try to calm myself.
"Things got worse," my mom muttered and I whacked her arm.
"Really?"
The world loves to prove me wrong, doesn't it?
I saw Henry's head pop out after Jasper told him Jake and Kris were here and I went up to him.
"Bella," he whispered and I leaned toward his face. "why are my parents here?
"You think I know?" I asked him, "I doubt anyone else will show up though."
Just then, the elevator doors opened, and in walked Jasper and a group of three teenage girls.
I threw my hands up in defeat, "I quit!"
"Sorry, we don't have any more tables," Jasper apologized, laying out a rug for them. The girls didn't care, they were just staring at Jack, who was really uncomfortable.
Poor Char and Jack.
"It's okay," one of the girls said with her eyes on Jack. "We just came to stare at Jack Swagger."
I instinctively went up to Charlotte and took her shoulder, "I'm so sorry."
She looked up at me for a moment before looking down in sorrow.
I noticed the girls take pics of Jack and I moved away, feeling so horrible.
I went back over to my mom, who had the same sorrowful look like me.
"What do we do?" I asked her and she took a look at the people here.
"We can't ruin this for Charlotte," she began and I nodded in agreement. "So, we must do what we do best?"
"Gawk over our men?" I asked and she slapped my arm playfully.
"No," she sighed. "Perform for these people. Give them a show."
"You mean singing?" I asked, still confused.
My mom rolled her eyes, before whispering in Piper's ear.
"Give them a show has a lot of different meanings," I point out with a chuckle.
——
{Mary and Bella}
Ohh yeah yeah
{Bella; Both}
The situations turns around enough to figure out
That someone else has let you down
So many times I don't know why
But I know we can make it as long as you say it
I hopped off the piano and walked around the place. Charlotte was beginning to smile again and that's what kept me going.
{Mary and Bella}
So tell me that you love me yeah
And tell me that I take your breath away
And maybe if you take one more then I would know for sure
There's nothing left to say
Tell me that you love me anyway
Tell me that you love me anyway
Ohhh
My mom and I swapped places and she walked around the place. By the looks of it, the people in the room were enjoying it and Charlotte was back to her normal self. Not to mention, Jack seemed impressed with us.
{Mary; Both}
Waking up beside yourself and what you feel inside
Is being shared with someone else
Nowhere to hide I don't know why
But I know we can make it
As long as you say it
{Mary and Bella}
So tell me that you love me yeah
And tell me that I take your breath away
And maybe if you take one more then I would know for sure
There's nothing left to say
Tell me that you love me anyway
I joined my mom and we smiled at each other as the people swayed along with the music.
{Mary, Bella, Both}
Show me look what we found turn it around every day
I can hear what you say
Now I know why know we can make it
We made our way back to the piano and sat on top of it as we sang.
{Mary and Bella}
If tell me that you love me yeah
And tell me that I take your breath away
And maybe if you take one more
We paused for a moment and Charlotte cheered for us, which made Jack clap.
So tell me that you love me yeah
And tell me that I take your breath away
Maybe if you take one more then I would know for sure
There's nothing left to say
Tell me that you love me anyway
We finished our song and bowed as the people applauded and cheered for us.
"Thank you!" My mom and I smile.
"Tell your friends" I mention as the applauds and cheers died down.
I went up to Charlotte and hugged her, which made her hug back tightly.
"Thank you," she smiled as we pulled away.
"Anything for you," I tell her, before walking back to the piano.
"You're such a good friend," my mom smiled and side hugged me.
"I'm the best," I chuckle back.
Suddenly, Jasper ran out in a panic and yelling.
"Ahhh! It followed me down! It followed me down!"
A large hawk zoomed out of the elevator and all of us panicked, yelling in fear. I crawled under the piano with my mom as the hawk flew around the restaurant and I began to eat the chicken I stashed earlier in case I needed it.
"Is that chicken?" My mom asked.
"It's mine, don't touch," I snarl at her.
The hawk continued to fly around and terrorize us, which eventually lead us to rush toward the elevator safely. The hawk seemed to be after Jake the most, which was good for us, but bad for him.
I picked up my piece of chicken and rushed inside the elevator with the others, but Jake was the last one left. Jake ended up tripping and yelled in fear when the hawk flew over his face but managed to scurry inside the elevator. I vigorously tapped the elevator button until it shut and we were all saved from the dangerous hawk.
Wait, the boys are in there.
Oops.

~Later That Night~
I rode back down the Man Cave after the hawk had been captured and everything was safe. It was midnight and I was so exhausted and stressed, I just wanted to sleep again. Not being able to sleep is the worse thing in the world and hopefully, I'll get some tonight, but I'll see about that.
I walked out of the elevator and was met with a very dim-lit room. The restaurant was still intact but it was cleaned and candles were lit all around the room to add to the mood.
I cautiously stepped out and investigated the candlelit restaurant. The only thing that changed drastically was that there was one table and it was centered with two plates of food on it.
"Schwoz! Dad," I called out and didn't get an answer for a couple of moments. "Henry?"
"Hello, princess."
I let out a gasp of shock at the voice as I saw a figure emerge from the soundproof curtain. There stood Henry dressed in a black suit and his dashing smile that could save a life if needed.
"Henry," I chuckled lightly with my hand on my chest. "You scared me."
"I'm so sorry," he apologized as he got closer and I met him in the middle of the room. "I didn't mean to."
"What is this?" I asked, gesturing to the room around us.
"Isn't it obvious?" He asked and slid by me before pulling out a chair. "It's a date."
I smiled as he gestured for me to sit and I sat down as he swiftly sat down in his chair.
"Did you plan this?" I asked him as soft music began to play in the background.
"I asked Ray if I could use this before we took it down and he agreed," Henry explained and I nodded with a soft smile.
"How sweet," I giggle and he grinned with pink cheeks. "Even if a hawk almost destroyed the place."
"That hawk really doesn't like my dad."
"No, it doesn't," I remark and we chuckled together.
"Also, I'm sorry," Henry suddenly apologized and I gave him confused look.
"For what?"
"I feel bad about not being able to spend time with you as much lately," he continued with a sigh. "It's just being a superhero isn't easy."
"I get it," I told him. "Sure we've had to blow off a bunch of dates so you can save the town, but as long as I am able to see you every day and know you're okay, that's all that matters. Also, having midnight dates isn't so bad."
"Maybe we'll do it more often," he remarked and I shrugged.
"Maybe," I said and he grinned.
It was silent for a moment or two. The first thing that popped into mind was Juilliard and I let out a soft exhale.
Now or never.
"Henry."
"Mmm?"
"There's something I have to tell you and I just need you to listen, okay?" I began and he gave me a worried look.
"Oh no, are you breaking up with me?" He asked with sorrow and I vigorously shook my head at this.
"No no!" I denied and he hung his head. "Never!"
"It's the 'it's not you it's me' situation, huh?" He asked and sighed with a pout. "I knew it."
"Henry!" I rolled my eyes at him, seeing his dramatic side come out. "Really?"
"I'll change if you want me to. I will, for you-"
"I got a scholarship to Juilliard!" I blurted out and his eyes made contact with me. His face turning serious and his eyes growing with shock.
"You-what?"
"Juilliard offered me a scholarship," I repeated in a calmer voice and Henry looked away for a second to think.
"Juilliard? That famous school for insanely talented people?" He asked me and I shrugged with a small nodded.
"I wouldn't say insanely talented," I mumbled and he rose an eyebrow. "Just talented."
"So, you're gonna go to college there? Isn't it in New York?" Henry asked and I could already feel the pain by seeing his eyes fall.
"Yes, it is," I nod and clear my throat. "It's a four-year scholarship and they want me to go after I graduate."
"Four years?" He questioned and I nodded, twiddling my thumbs out, nervously. "That's a long time."
"I know!" I say, "I've been stressing out about this for the past month and don't know what to do."
"Month? This has been going on for a month?" He asked with hurt in his voice, "and you didn't tell me?"
"It's longer than a month actually," I chuckled and Henry gave me a look. "Okay, listen, this has been really hard for me. I know you're upset, but I haven't been able to sleep cuz I'm so stressed. I don't know what to do! I want to go so bad and follow my dreams, but I also want to stay here and spend it with you! I'm sorry, but I've been so confused lately and don't know!"
"Hey, hey," Henry shushed me and ran over, kneeling beside me. "I'm not mad, I never I was. This is a huge opportunity, I get why you're confused about it. You still have an entire year to think about it, remember? Graduation is next year."
My lips parted in shock when I remembered that Henry isn't graduating this year, but I am. Henry hasn't been to school since the Spring Sing thing which was like a year ago. Oh my gosh.
I let out a nervous laugh, "well you see... time goes quicker than you think."
"It does, but it gives you time to go visit the school," Henry remarked and I felt myself smile.
"You think I should go?" I asked and he shrugged.
"Follow what your heart says," he reasoned and I looked away from him. "We agreed to wait until we get married. Like what? Four or five years when we figure out what the heck we are doing?"
I chuckled, "that's true. I don't know what we're doing."
"I don't either," he grinned and took my hands. "But what I do know is you can't let this opportunity pass by. Take it and go for it."
The amount of weight that got lifted off my shoulders just then was relieving.
"You think so?" I asked with a smile of relief and he nodded.
"Yes," he said. "I'll be you're biggest supporter."
I gently took his face and kissed him. He kissed back immediately and we stayed like that for a moment before we pulled away and he stared into my eyes with his brown ones.
"I love you," I tell him.
"I love you too."
The only problem is when he remembers I'm graduating this year and he's not. What will he say then?

Up Next: Escape Room (Short chapter I am sorry <3)
Chapters Remaining: 7 or 6
AWWWWW HOW CUTE HENRY BEING SUPPORTIVE AND CRAP. Hopefully, it lasts-
What?
ANYWAY, Escape Room is next and I apologize in advance for the short chapter. It wouldn't make sense for Bella to tag along, so she's staying back with the others for the parts they do. But Game of Phones...🙃
That's a huge chapter and I'm excited to possibly introduce you to someone new;)
Also, this book reached 300k reads today, so tysm for that. Very much appreciated💕
I've recently been watching Lab Rats again and I've been thinking about how much I hate how I wrote my Lab Rats stories, so in the far future, I will most likely rewrite it where it starts at the beginning with an oc of mine. Still a Chase fanfic, so look out for that whenever it happens. Not anytime soon though.
I cringe at my old writing every day🤦♀️
I have so many ideas for the final chapters, gosh I'm so excited. You're not gonna be ready for what's about to come, cuz I'm not that's for sure.
The beginning of the end is near.
Shoutout to Archie_Got_Hot please go read their stories! They deserve lots of love and drop a follow as well while you're at it. They have a Henry Danger fanfic as well, so go read that too!
Comment if you want a shoutout! If I've already given you one, then you have to wait until I've given everyone who wants one a shoutout. It wouldn't be fair to everyone else.
Byeeeeeee!
