This is my entry into ArielKat's egg contest! I hope it's okay that its traditional ^v^ Also, I drew this at art camp without any reference so I didn't draw the details on the egg.... Anyway.... Here's my short story to go with the pic! :3

In the tribe of the Sea, an egg rests in cool waters. Coral reefs will flourish, and jungles will rise under the dragonet's mighty wings.

A pale blue Seawing slowly swims through the water on her private patrol of her queen's watery kingdom. Her webless talons help to propel her through the water as her wings do most of the work. She moved her head around, scanning the area for anything abnormal. "I don't get why I have to patrol out here by myself." She pouted inside her head and when she looked down something smooth and shiny caught her eye.

"What?" She flashed on her scales and swam a little closer. She could now see the small details on the smooth object. All the sudden, Bluefish noticed what it was. A colorful egg sat precariously on the edge of a deep abyss, almost as is the smallest current would knock it off into the deep, dark, and forbidding unknown world. With a blast of bubbles, she shot through the water and picked up the egg. Clutching the egg to her chest, she swung her head around, looking for any nearby dragons that might have somehow lost their egg here.

Seeing no one, she flashed her scales in hopes of catching the attention of the mother looking for her lost egg. After a while of looking around and continuously flashing her scales, Bluefish found a current that headed back toward the Deep Palace. "Hopefully this dragonet can breathe underwater...." She thought. "If only we still had the summer palace...."
