Chapter 1: A New Awakening!
(A/N: Before we start reading, I just wanna let you all know that a few chapters that contain Episode 1 are going to have a ChatGPT writing chapter because I don't know where to start of how (Y/N) appears within Bocchi. Also, there may be some inconsistencies in the story where Bocchi doesn't act like her usual character due to (Y/N) himself and other characters in their behavior, so forgive me for that. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy).
...
-No One's P.O.V-
As you slowly regained consciousness, you found yourself enveloped in darkness, the sensation of weightlessness surrounding you like a suffocating blanket. Panic gripped your chest as you struggled to make sense of your surroundings, your mind reeling with confusion and disbelief.
(Y/N): *Mutters*Great. Just what I needed. A one-way ticket to nowhere.
Crossing your arms in frustration, you surveyed the darkness around you, your sharp-tongued sarcasm a feeble attempt to mask your rising anxiety. Was this some kind of sick joke? Had you really died in that accident by some truck that crashed into you, only to find yourself waking up and trapped in this limbo of nothingness?
(Y/N): Well, isn't this just peachy? Stuck in the void with nothing but my thoughts for company. Just what every lazy high schooler dreams of.
But even as you grumbled to yourself, you knew that you couldn't stay in this state of limbo forever. Whether it was the afterlife or something else entirely, you had to find a way out of this darkness and back into the world you had left behind.
With a resigned sigh, you settled back into the darkness, knowing that all he could do now was wait and see what fate had in store for you. Limbo or not, you were determined to find a way forward, no matter what obstacles lay in your path.
-Mini Time Skip-
As you were waiting in the darkness, time seemed to stretch on endlessly, each moment feeling like an eternity. But just when you were beginning to resign yourself to your fate, a glimmer of light caught your eye, flickering in the distance like a beacon of hope.
(Y/N): Well, well, well, Looks like someone finally decided to show me the way out of this dump.
With a mixture of trepidation and determination, you pushed yourself to your feet, your heart pounding in your chest as you cautiously made your way toward the growing light. Each step felt like a leap of faith, uncertainty clouding your thoughts as you braced yourself for whatever lay beyond.
(Y/N): *Muttering* Here goes nothing. If this is the afterlife, then so be it. But I'm not holding my breath.
As you drew closer to the light, its brilliance grew blinding, enveloping you in a warm, comforting embrace that seemed to banish the darkness around him. With a final surge of determination, you took a deep breath and stepped into the light, ready to face whatever uncertain fate awaited you beyond.
...
As the blinding light faded from your vision, you found yourself standing in the midst of a cozy little room, furnished with a single comfy chair recliner, a small mini-fridge stocked with food and drinks, and a quaint cabinet adorned with trinkets and knick-knacks. The sight was enough to make you raise an eyebrow in surprise.
(Y/N): *Grins Wryly* Well, well, well. Looks like someone's rolling out the red carpet for me. Not bad for a limbo, I suppose.
With a shrug of your shoulders, you sauntered over to the chair recliner, sinking into its plush cushions until you pushed back the lever to lean back the chair, and you let out a contented sigh. It was surprisingly comfortable, the perfect spot to while away the time as you waited for your uncertain fate to reveal itself.
(Y/N): *Nonchalant* Guess I'll make myself at home. Can't say I'm not curious to see what comes next. But until then, might as well enjoy the hospitality.
Leaning back in the chair, you closed your eyes and allowed yourself to relax, a sense of calm settling over you despite the lingering uncertainty that tugged at the edges of your mind. For now, all you could do was wait and see what the universe had in store for you, whether it be a grand revelation or just another twist in the journey of life.
However, a voice suddenly pierced the silence, causing you to snap to attention. The voice belonged to a girl, speaking with a determined tone...
???: I put in six hours of practice a day so I could play before a crowd. I never quit.
(Y/N): *Intruiged* Six hours a day, huh? Sounds like someone's serious about their music.
Before you could ponder further, a large screen materialized in front of you, resembling a television. The screen flickered to life, revealing a perspective view of someone playing a rock guitar inside a dark closet, illuminated by a single light. Rock-related posters adorned the walls, and guitar equipment lay scattered about.
Curiosity piqued, you were watching intently as the scene unfolded before you, the realization slowly dawning on you. Could it be that you had been reincarnated into this girl's mind, or perhaps you were sou inhabiting one body from her own soul?
(Y/N): *Realizing* Wait a minute. Could it be... am I seeing through her eyes?
The idea seemed far-fetched, yet the evidence before you was undeniable. As you watched the girl strumming the guitar with passion and skill.
With a furrowed brow, you leaned forward, your gaze fixed on the screen as you tried to make sense of the situation unfolding before you.
...
As you continued listening to the girl's internal thoughts, a sense of sympathy and understanding washed over you, mingled with a touch of frustration.
???: Yet middle school was over before I knew it. I didn't perform.
(Y/N): So, middle school was a bust, huh? *Sarcastic* Guess I'm not the only one who's had a rough go of it.
???: Recruited zero people. Didn't even make any friends to begin with!
(Y/N): *Skeptical* Forming a band in high school, huh? Well, good luck with that. But let's be real here, sweetheart. It's not as easy as it sounds.
Despite your sharp-tongued remarks, you couldn't shake the feeling of connection you felt with the girl whose body you now inhabited. Her determination to carve out a place for herself in the world resonated with you on a deep level, reminding you of your inner struggles and desires.
???: This time, for sure...High school is where I'll form my freakin' band!
A wry smile appears on yours upon hearing the girl's self-assurance.
(Y/N): Looks like we're in this together, whether we like it or not, Might as well make the best of it. Who knows? Maybe we'll surprise ourselves in the end.
With a newfound sense of determination, you settled back into the chair recliner, your mind buzzing with thoughts and possibilities.
As you listened to the girl's internal musings, a sense of admiration and amusement washed over him. Her candid honesty was refreshing, yet he couldn't help but feel a twinge of skepticism at her self-deprecating remarks.
???: Fast-forward a month after that declaration.
(Y/N): *Sarcastic* So, fast forward a month, huh? Sounds like things are going swimmingly for our aspiring musician.
???: I'm this close to becoming a hermit, the guitar is my only salvation.
Upon hearing her song, you couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. You knew all too well the feeling of being trapped in one's thoughts, seeking solace in the familiar embrace of music.
(Y/N): *Grins Wryly* Gotta hand it to her. At least she's got her priorities straight. Who needs friends when you've got a guitar, am I right?
But despite the snarky comments you made, you couldn't deny the raw emotion and sincerity behind the girl's words. Her dedication to her craft, even in the face of adversity, spoke volumes about her resilience and inner strength.
???: Lyrics and composition: me. From my closet with love.
(Y/N): Lyrics and compositions from the closet, huh?
You said to yourself with a hint of admiration before ending it off with...
(Y/N): Well, can't say I'm not impressed. Who knew our little hermit had such a way with words?
With a shake of your head and a chuckle, you settled back into the chair, content to continue listening to the girl's heartfelt music-making. Suddenly, you continued watching on from the big screen and listening to the girl's internal thoughts.
???: But before the neighbors report my shitty song as late-night noise pollution, I should upload my latest cover from that hit band.
(Y/N): *Surprised* So, she's a content creator on YouTube who does covers, huh? Let's see how this goes...
???: It's been some time since I took my dad's suggestion. Ah. My previous video has been getting comments. Hehe...I've been racking up the views lately, too. And people telling me that I'm good... Yeah, maybe it's okay if I can't handle real life! There are tons of people cheering for me online!
This raised an eyebrow from you upon hearing the girl's words...
(Y/N): *Mutters bitterly* So, the comments section is her lifeline, huh? Guess we all need a little validation now and then. But relying on strangers to boost your ego? That's a new low.
???: The internet is filled with socially anxious introverts just like me!
(Y/N): *Nods* Mmhm, we can all relate to that sometimes.
Suddenly, the girl lands her eyes on a certain comment that reads... "I formed a band and played this at our school festival! The whole school went crazy for it!"
That's when Hitori closes her laptop immediately as soon as she reads it, which surprises you internally within her body.
(Y/N): (Huh? What was that all about?)
???: I put the effort in, okay? I bought CDs for school and set them on my desk. I flaunted my band merch. I put in a song request at lunch...
(Y/N): *Muttering in Disbelief* Brought CDs to school, huh? Flaunted band merch and played requested songs at lunch? Talk about trying too hard.
That's when you see the perspective view of the girl's flashbacks, and then she starts banging her head onto the floor while internally cursing to herself...
???: The flashbacks won't stop! Get out! Out of my head!
(Y/N): *Chuckles* Bangin' your head on the floor to get rid of bad memories, huh?
You quipped, your voice tinged with sarcasm before adding another comment to follow it up.
(Y/N): Real mature, sweetheart. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
Despite your mocking tone, you couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for the girl. Her actions, though misguided, were a testament to her longing for connection and her deep-seated insecurities.
(Y/N): (Guess we've all got our cringe-worthy moments. But hey, at least she's trying. Can't fault her for that.)
You thought to yourself in a humble tone before putting a little encouragement...
(Y/N): Come on, girl. We've all got cringe-worthy memories. It's what makes us human. Embrace the awkwardness and learn from it. That's the only way we'll ever grow.
With a determined nod, you settled back into the chair, ready to support the girl through her internal struggles and help her find the strength to overcome her past and embrace her future with confidence and resilience.
-Mini Time Sip-
As time passed for about a couple of minutes wore on and you continued to observe the girl's perspective within her mind, a sense of restlessness began to gnaw within you. Watching her internal struggles and hearing her thoughts was all well and good, but you couldn't shake the feeling that there had to be more to their shared existence than mere observation.
(Y/N): *Frustrated* Alright, enough of this passive bystander act. Time to see if I can't shake things up a bit.
Summoning your resolve, you tentatively reached out to the girl's consciousness, your words forming like whispers in the recesses of her mind.
(Y/N): Hey, you there?!
Your voice echoed in the girl's thoughts. And to your surprise, the girl's reaction was immediate and intense, her anxiety palpable as she frantically looked around, searching for the source of the voice.
Hitori: *Scared* What the... who's there?! I-I-I-Is somebody there?!
As you were watching the girl's panicked reaction unfold, a mixture of astonishment and amusement washed over you. You had somehow managed to communicate with her, like an alter-ego lurking in the depths of her mind.
(Y/N): *Smirks* Well, well, well. Looks like I've got her attention. Now let's see where this goes. Guess we're about to find out. *Curious* So, what's your name, little lady? I mean, I've been in your head for a while now, but we haven't been properly introduced.
Hitori's response was immediate, her voice tinged with anxiety as she nervously introduced herself.
Hitori: I-I'm Hitori Gotoh...Um, nice to meet you, I guess...
You nodded in acknowledgment, a small smile playing at the corners of your lips.
(Y/N): Hitori Gotoh, huh? That's a pretty name. Well, nice to meet you too, Hitori. Or should I say, nice to meet me? Since we're technically the same person, just... different.
Hitori's response was a hesitant nod, her mind still reeling from the revelation of another soul residing within her body.
Hitori: Yeah, um, nice to meet you too.
As you and Hitori continued the awkward exchange, a sense of camaraderie began to blossom between you two, born out of shared experiences and mutual understanding. Despite the strangeness of their situation, the two of you were determined to navigate it together, forging a bond that transcended the boundaries of the consciousness between you and Hitori.
...
(A/N: That's that~! Stay tuned for another chapter !)
