2| Shy Shy Shy

The bullet had pierced the flesh; there was no use of regretting pulling the trigger now. All Seulhye could do was laugh awkwardly at her humiliating fate, pretending to not mind the offence.

She didn't need to speak out her thoughts, Jungkook clearly heard the repeatedly chanted words in her head. "I hate your friends..." She whispered merely above a breath.

"Uh..." The guy she could vividly recognize as his intellectual friend, Namjoon, started. "We're sorry for eavesdropping and on the behalf of Jung Hoseok, I'm sorry for mocking your personal life—"

"Shove your apologies up your..." The underqualified rapper, Seokjin, stopped himself from using inappropriate words when noticing her shifting glares. "I mean, I bet Jungkook doesn't even care though I don't know about Seulhye..."

It was as if her surroundings intentionally tried to tear apart her senses. She aggressively nodded her head to deny. "No, no, no, it's alright. It was just a stupid joke anyway and Jungkook certainly won't care enough." She whispered the last part, yet loud enough to get noticed while her husband remained silent. "I'll get going..." She excused herself from the situation to collect her belongings from a different room.

Only then did Jungkook notice the unfinished crust of the bread he toasted for her. It indicated that his friends had been anticipating his presence for ever since she sat down to have breakfast. It worried him because she didn't even touch the eggs he cooked for her. He sat down on the couch between his three friends. "Hey, guys..."

"You don't have to sound so depressed." Seokjin scrunched his nose at the lack of enthusiasm. "She looked kinda upset about it, do you think she'll be mad at us or something?" Everyone focused on the younger guy who didn't wanna answer that.

The day had just started and Jungkook had been complied to find the answer to the same question twice already. Did she get upset again? The mere question was enough to make Jungkook frown. "You know, it's all Hobi's fault!" Namjoon pointed his finger at the momentarily silent male. "We could've quietly laughed to ourselves but he had to confront you."

"What the—" Hoseok got on his feet to yell for justice but he was shushed down by the other two males.

This discussion had to stop so that Jungkook could gain back his lost brainpower. "No, it's not about you guys, I'm just worried—"

A voice from behind him cut him off. "Jungkook.", With a slight movement of her wrist, she called him to a little secluded place. "I have kept some money at your side of the bed, in case you guys go out." She blew a kiss at him which made him smile. At least she's not mad.

"I guess I'll just feed them the food you didn't eat." He gave her a stern glare but it merely made her laugh at his attempts. "Seriously, when you skip meals, it worries me greatly..."

"Not like I'll die, don't worry." She leaned in for a peck. She brushed her coat and wished everyone goodbye in a way that didn't make her antipathy towards the males too obvious.

But their secluded place wasn't that secluded after all or maybe the three guys had mastered eavesdropping. Their face showed an obvious expression of disgust.

Jungkook pushed back his shoulders and relaxed on the couch, no one questioned the tired man but the marks on his neck caught everyone's attention. "How could a kid believe these are mosquito bites...?" Hoseok pulled his collar slightly to reveal the trail.

"He's so gonna cringe at all this after two years when he finally realizes what his parents did every night." Namjoon laughed at the possible scenario.

"Hyung, he's just six, two years later he'll be just eight." Jungkook rolled his half-lidded eyes at the stupid assumption. "And not like we do it every night..."

"I accidentally watched porn when I was in 2nd grade. He's a gen-z kid, expect him to know shit before us." An awkward silence followed Namjoon's confession, a silence that made him scoff. "Huh, stop acting like you guys are holy spirits."

"What did you even understand after watching porn at that age?" Seokjin's revulsed expression didn't dissolve when he asked the simple question while the other males just cringed.

"I was certainly smarter than other kids at my school..." Namjoon's dimples got deeper when he confirmed his bragging. "Anyways, I saw Seulhye on the cover of 'Singles', I thought she was a normal employee, how did that happen?"

"Ah, that... You know she's the subhead of the financial department of this cosmetic line. That day, their model was kinda late; the photographer noticed Seulhye and asked her to give it a try." Jungkook tried to not sound too haughty while narrating the story but he couldn't stop smiling all along.

"Definitely deserved it..." Seokjin trailed off and everyone focused on the floor for a while until Jungkook was asked another question. "Whom do you think she hates the most among we three?"

"Wha—What kind of question—" Jungkook was fairly taken aback by the sudden question. He didn't want anyone to think of Seulhye as a sociopath or misanthrope because she wasn't.

But much to his surprise, the three males decided to rank themselves without his support. "Of course it's hobi for laughing in their face when they revealed they were pregnant." Namjoon made a confident guess.

Not like Hoseok didn't have an explanation to prove his innocence. "I mean, yeah, it was kinda funny. Like, their baby's due date had more months than Jungkook and Seulhye's dating history!" The way Hoseok said it made Jungkook laugh a little even though he knew he shouldn't.

His eyes travelled to a small photo frame kept near the edge of the coffee table; they fondly looked down at their baby, a candid picture taken by Hoseok on the day of his wedding. Since everything worked out the way it should, the distress of discovering they were pregnant at a very early stage of their relationship didn't bother him anymore.

He knew he loved Dohun, he knew it the moment she took the pregnancy test and it came out positive. He knew that he would never run away from both of them.

"She cried after you laughed at her..." Namjoon stated the saddest part of that memory and the short-lived waves of laughter drowned down.

"Uh... Well, it's still better than him." The awkward glares Hoseok had to avoid got him pointing at Seokjin to divert everyone's attention. "Calling her wedding dress substandard while she stood two feet away from him and heard it clearly," He recalled.

"What..?" Jungkook questioned in disbelief.

"Really!? Is that the worst thing any one of us has done to Seulhye?" Seokjin snapped back and proceeded to expose Namjoon. "Then what about the time when Namjoon said Jungkook slept with a guy in high school and Seulhye believed that? They almost called their marriage off!"

"What— It was you, hyung!?" Jungkook couldn't hold back the strong desire to get in action after hearing the shocking truth. He stood up, the least of an action he could've done or taken.

"I was drunk and I deny to believe she really bought that! You were talking to a guy and I said he was your old friend... With benefits." Namjoon tried to put the charge on Seulhye for being gullible. "Let's not talk about it anymore, you guys still got married and are happy together. I mean, that's what I perceive from all those 'mosquito bites', you know?"

Jungkook shied away from the mention of something related to his last night. He could feel himself moving uncomfortably in his chair. He could sense the triggered "feel-good" hormones release.

"Just how many hickeys do you have?" Hoseok lifted Jungkook's wrist to closely examine another bruise at an unexpected place. The younger quickly pulled his sleeves lower in defence. "It must take hours for Seulhye to conceal her hickeys. Like, I dated this girl in middle school who had a master trick to hide hickey with make-up, only that it was her first time and she took two hours to do it for both of us."

"Uh, yeah, because of her unexpected shoots and work in general, I'm not allowed to give her... Hickeys." Jungkook felt shy to talk about his personal life so explicitly, not like he was doing that for the first time but it still made him blush.

"So you usually have more hickeys on your body than her?" His friend gawked at him as if it was not possible under any scenario.

Jungkook uncomfortably pulled his shirt collar to hide the dark purple mark on his neck. "I mean, there's a reason—"

"Dang, I didn't know being a kept man makes you submissive in bed too." His other friend scoffed while eyeing another revealed hickey which came to their notice amidst Jungkook's efforts.
