Anthony's POV- Before the party

"Anthony, come set up these paper snowflakes across the walls!" My mom called out over the blaring Christmas music from the kitchen. I groaned and set my iPad down on the couch and made my way to the kitchen where all the decorations sat on the countertop in an old plastic bin. I grabbed all the snowflakes, set them on the table and stood on a chair, and began hanging them up. The party starts in two hours, and the only person I was excited to see was Maliea. But who knows if Kenny will let her show up? I mean, she needed his approval just to sit with me on the bus! "Anthony!" Somebody called out. "Yes, Dad!?" I said, snapping myself out of my thoughts. I hopped down from the chair facing him "Are you finished with your project thing on that girl in your class?" He asked me. "Not yet, but I'm finishing it," I responded. He nodded. "Take a break from this, and go finish it." I nodded back and headed up the stairs. Chatter came from Sam's room. I knocked twice on the door and let myself in. "Hey, I need your help." "With what?" She scowled at me turning her eyes back to her phone, Miguel was on the other line. "How do I write about a girl?" I asked nervously while she smirked. "Well, what do you think about her?" She continued to smirk. "She's funny, beautiful, pretty, smart, sarcastic, and I like her but she's friends with Kenny and I'm scared of losing her-" I caught myself. I heard chuckles from the other line. "That's it then!" Sam gave me a proud smile. I nodded and headed toward my room. I grabbed my bag, zipped it open, and looked for the notebook. My friends were texting me to get on call but I didn't respond because this was way more important. I got my notebook out and AirPods in and began to write. After I was finished I glanced at the paper full of writing and smiled. I decided to let Sam read it to get her opinion. "Sam!" I yelled out for her to come quickly shortly after. "Read this." She nodded and began to read. After she was finished she looked up from the paper and smiled at me. "You like her don't you?" I shrugged and nodded slightly. "Did you invite her to the Christmas Party?" She asked me again. "Yeah I did, hopefully, mom and dad don't go ape shit on me." We both chuckled. "Get ready, people should start arriving soon, and you wanna look your best for Maliea" She smirked at me closing my door. I put on any long-sleeve shirt I could find with a pair of jeans.

During the party~

Shortly after people began arriving, mostly my dad's co-workers and relatives filled the living room. I was bored out of my mind waiting for Maliea, so I just sat in the dining room, playing on my IPAD in the meantime. "Anthony, come to say hi to my mom!" I rolled my eyes, placed my IPAD down on the counter, and went to say hello to my grandma. While I was saying hello to my grandma, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" Sam excitedly said thinking it was Miguel. She opened up the door and called out for somebody. "Anthony! Door!" She yelled out. I didn't invite Zach, quite frankly any of the boys. I walked slowly to the door to come face to face with Maliea. She had a present in her hand and waved when she saw me with a smile. She's so beautiful... "Hello, stalker." "Hey, Spokesperson." I let her in, she took her shoes off and my parents gave a confused look but smirked once Sam informed them who was with me. I observed her outfit, she was wearing a long-sleeve gray sweater, a thin sweatshirt, and skinny jeans. I showed her to the dining room and sat down. "Who's the present for?" I asked curiously with a smirk. "Oh yeah this is for you, but do not open it until Christmas because this present took forever for me to find." She handed me it and smiled. "Oh wow... Thanks so much I didn't expect this." "Don't mention stalker." We talked about school, the project, and the dance. "Anthony, come here please!" My dad called out. "I'll be right back!" I said carrying the present into the living room and placing it under the tree before facing my dad. "Who's that girl?" He pointed to Maliea. "Oh, that's Maliea, the girl I'm writing about in English for the project!" "The one who kicked you in the nuts!?" I nodded anxiously. "Chill out honey, at least they're making amends right?" I bobbed my head again, forming a smile and looking back at her again. Sam's eyes widened seeing the present under the Christmas tree. "She got you a present?" "Yup," I said with a gulp. "She's aloud then in the house if she makes you happy. She's also really pretty." My mother shrugged and laughed weakly. I nodded happily going back to the dining room where Maliea sat. "Wanna dance?" I blurted out. "The stalker is asking me to dance?" She smirked at me. "I mean we d-d-don't have to?-" She grabbed my hand. "Come on stalker." Everybody was in the kitchen chattering about work stuff, so it was just me and her. We began to dance, swaying back and forth to the Christmas music playing on the tv. I like her, but what about Kenny? She rested her head on my shoulder. "They're outside aren't they?" I turned to look at my friend badly hidden in a bush outside the window, with a camera. FLASH. Fuck. "If they post that I'm fucked!" She looked at me in disappointment, continuing to look out the window. "I snuck out to this party while Kenny was at karate." She sighed running back into the dining room and grabbing her sweatshirt. "I hope you'll enjoy your gift, spoil alert. I happened to make it myself just for you." She gave me a warm smile. "Thanks for the invite, I enjoyed the party! "Maliea, where are you going?" I gave her a worried look. "I have to go, don't look so sad now, stalker." She fake pouted and hugged me tightly, before opening, and closing the front door. I sat on the couch sad and shocked at what just happened. My friends ruined everything for me.
