A/N: Keith has really bad insomnia, to the point where he isn't getting any sleep and is becoming sick from it.

Keith can't sleep. It had been going on for almost two weeks now, restless nights of tossing and turning until the early hours of the morning until exhaustion finally takes over. He would fall asleep early in the morning then wake up just a few hours later, day after day, and it was starting to run him ragged, his body was growing weaker buy the day.

Keith is laying in bed right now, just laying there with his eyes closed, just trying to fall asleep but he can't. He has zero energy to go to the training deck, so Keith pushes his way up and walks the halls trying to make himself even more tired.

His whole body was sore and Keith just wanted to fall asleep but no matter what he did, he just couldn't fall asleep. So he continued walking, sometimes ending up with Red who would do her best to help him but he would still be awake afterwards and would get mad with himself because of it. He would find himself in the kitchen, just looking around, not feeling hungry at all. He would find himself outside Shiro's room, ready to knock upon his door but then thinks better of it and keeps walking.

Tonight, he finds his way into the lounge. He throws himself down upon the cough with a sigh. He grabs a data pad that Pidge has been able to put some movies and games on. So Keith shrugs his shoulders and thinks why not give it a try. So he lays down and begins to play on the data pad.

He continues to play until Pidge walks into the room and sees him laying there with dark circles under his purple eyes.

"Keith? What are you doing?" asked Pidge and Keith sighed, sat the data pad down and sat up. As soon as he sat up he grips his head in pain. A sharp pain rushes through his head and everything is moving.

"Keith?" asks Pidge and Keith slowly looks up and gives her a small smile to try and let her know that he is alright.

Once he begins to stand up, everything shifts and Keith falls back down upon the couch.

"Okay Keith, just stay here. I'll get someone" says Pidge as she races off. Keith tries to voice that he is fine but she is already out the door looking for someone. But Keith doesn't want anyone to see him like this, he just needs some sleep. So he forces himself up and at first it doesn't go well, the whole room is spinning and there are some small dark spots in his vision but he inhales and pushes through it all. He thinks all he has to do was to get to his room and everything would be fine, but it wasn't.

He has made it half way before a sharp pain bursts through his head again, but this time much more worst. He is so much in pain that he doesn't hear the others enter the room. He opens his eyes for a second, look up to see the others before everything goes black.

Keith falls to the ground before anyone can catch him.

"KEITH!?!" yells Lance as he races to the red paladin's side.

As soon as Lance get close he can feel the heat coming off of Keith. "He's burning up" Lance says to the others and Shiro wastes no time to bend down and pick Keith up into his arms and race down to the med bay.

Once there, Coran began getting to work to figure out what is going on. Everyone is standing around nervously.

"Well, number 4 does have a umm....fever as you would say yes?" said Coran and Pidge nodded her head before Coran continued. "His body is so weak, he needs some rest and fluids. The pods can't do anything for him I'm afraid" says Coran and everyone feels even worst know.

Shiro allows the others to leave while he sits besides Keith's bed. It is breakfast time but Shiro just can't find it in himself to leave Keith alone or to go eat.

Shiro runs his hand through Keith's hair and Keith begins to move and wake up.

"Hey buddy, how are you feeling?" Shiro asks.

"T-Tired" whispers Keith and closes his eyes again as if having them open was too much work.

"What's been going on? You can talk to me Keith" says Shiro and at first Shiro thinks Keith had passes back out but his eyes flutter open and he looks up at Shiro.

"My insomnia. It's bad a-again'' Keith whispers and then reaches out to Shiro's arm.

"Cub'' can a whisper in Keith's mind.

"R-Red calling me. Can you take me t-to her?" says Keith and at first Shiro is about to say no that he needs to stay in the med bay but he sees the puppy eyes Keith has and smiles, cause there is no way he is saying no to Keith. Shiro nods his head and slowly helps Keith sits up and get onto his feet.

They slowly and really slowly walk towards Red because each step Keith keeps getting dizzy and lightheaded but he keeps going.

Once they enter the room, Red moves forwards, lowers her head and purrs to Keith. Before they can enter the red lion, the black lion shows up and lays beside Red. Keith smiles at them then at Shiro who still helps Keith make his way over to the lions. Keith curls up beside both lions and allow his eyes to close. As soon as his eyes close, he is fast asleep.

"He is alright my paladin, he just needs rest" says Black.

"My cub is sleepy and we are here to protect him" says Red.

Shiro wants to ask why Black is here but deep down he already knows. For he has seen it in Keith for a long time now, one day he will be the leader of this team and he will fly the black lion. Shiro nods his head and allows the lions to curl up more around Keith who has a small smile upon his face.
