Ch6. New Day New Trouble

"What was his name again?" He asked as he went through the reports on his desk. The girl smiled, tapping her expensive crafted nails on the wooden desk. She thought of the handsome face and the man in front of her raised his head, waiting for an answer.

"Kim Namjoon. He is lovely. I can easily charm him," Viola chirped with a bigger smile and the man tossed the reports away.

"Yoongi is hard. He doesn't listen to me, sleeps most of the time but takes full pay. He isn't even swayed by my charms. I dress up pretty every day and not once did he compliment me. But Namjoon recommended him to me so I can put up with him," Viola described her helper, who seemed more like a caregiver.

"Alright! Keep me updated on things. Don't fall in trouble. Don't cause trouble," the man warned and Viola scoffed, walking out of the room. She knew she shouldn't be here. She didn't want to meet him anymore. She didn't feel the need to discuss things with or listen to him.

But every single time his text pops on her phone, she rushes to meet him, like a snake to its charmer. His words draw her into a world of comfort, hypnotizing like the music from the pungi. She couldn't cut ties, even if she wanted to.

And he'd always know where she is

"I was searching for you everywhere. Where did you go? I was about to call Namjoon 'cause why did you have to vanish like that," Yoongi was genuinely worried at Viola's sudden disappearance. He was the one who drives her to places and she lacks the ability to communicate with people most of the time.

It was a shocker for him when he checked her CCTVs and found out that she had taken a cab. For a moment, he had scary thoughts that included her being a part of a mafia to her being kidnapped by the taxi driver.

"But how did you know I was at this place? I never mentioned it to you," Viola asked, her face pale with Yoongi knowing the place of the man who could ruin her entire life in a snap. But what astonished her was Yoongi being exactly at the location she was at.

He told me about these things

He told me that people can track me using devices

"I was about to meet an officer who could help me locate you. I knew someone around here and coincidentally I found you walking from that house. I wasn't here precisely. I ran from the rooftop of my friend's house," Yoongi explained, pointing at the rooftop of the house, which was apparently his friend's.

Why does he sound suspicious?

"You don't look good, Let's get you to your house and I will make you something to eat. I request you to inform me of your whereabouts for your own safety," Yoongi uttered and ushered Viola towards the car.

Viola didn't know what to answer, She didn't even nod, deeply confounded by what was happening around her. Yoongi wasn't the type to display such sort of feelings and his explanation just felt so odd to her.

Throughout the journey back to her house, she felt skeptical and wary. She felt unsafe and even though that was the most familiar feeling she has experienced lately, she just couldn't contain the pit in her stomach. She was used to being uncomfortable but the kind with Yoongi felt strange.

"Where did you both go early in the morning?" Namjoon jumped out of his seat as soon as he saw the duo walking towards the door of her flat. Namjoon felt bad because he couldn't spend much time with Viola yesterday and wanted to surprise her with a delicious breakfast.

Of course, not made by him

Viola was shocked to see Namjoon right in front of her flat holding some boxes of sorts. She turned to Yoongi who was looking at her as well. While Namjoon was patiently waiting for an answer carrying the breakfast boxes, Viola took her sweet time to form a not-so-dodgy answer.

"She had a nightmare and wanted some fresh air. So I drove her to a nearby park," Yoongi answered for her and Viola stared at him in disbelief. All her efforts went into the gutter and it didn't make sense as to why was Yoongi covering up for her.

"Are you alright? Do you get them frequently? The nightmares?" Namjoon asked, feeling worried for Viola.

Yes, she wanted to say it out loud

"Why don't we go inside and have breakfast first? I suppose you saved me from the trouble of cooking. Thank you, Namjoon ah," Yoongi succeeded in changing the subject and the trio savored the breakfast that Namjoon sneaked from his kitchen.

Viola laughed and giggled, having breakfast with the two grown-ass men bickering over which cartoon character was the best in Phineas and Ferb. Viola quite didn't understand the context but watching them arguing like kindergarten kids felt like a real-time sitcom.

She looked at her phone as the sound of notification distracted her. She stiffened at once seeing the person who had contacted her. Thankfully, Namjoon and Yoongi didn't notice her change of expression as they were too busy and involved in their heated discussion.

Viola quickly deleted the text and blocked the contact in a hurry. She immediately messaged the man she met in the morning. No matter how hard she tried to refrain herself from depending on him, she couldn't do so.

"I need your help"

"I need to know if someone is tracking me"

"Also, I just got a message and I am scared now"

"Jeonghan is back"

"Please, I don't want to meet him. Please Jungkook, tell him I was in an important seminar or that I didn't come to college. Please, I don't want to meet him. Jungkook, please," Bobae was struggling to breathe between her sobs, and everyone around her was concerned.

The students, some of them who recognized her tried to help her but Bobae was throwing fists, screaming aloud. The unforeseen attention towards her was spiraling through her head. She wasn't able to focus, she wasn't able to think stable. Things were messing with her head and holding onto Jungkook was the only thing she could do.

"Oh my God," Jackson whispered and Taehyung rushed to his love, swiftly pulling her into his arms. She looked at him, the feeling of helplessness flooding her eyes as she bawled in her roommate's arms.

"Deep breaths, deep breaths, Bobae. I am here, Jungkook is here. No one would come close to you," Taehyung was assuring her continuously, patting her back in a comforting manner. He gestured at Jimin to fetch some water for the girl.

"Taehyung, I don't want to meet him. Please take me somewhere else. I don't want to be here," Bobae cried, desperately requesting while calming down slowly. She has experienced panic attacks previously but this one hit her hard.

"Yeah, I will take you home soon. I want you to calm down first. Take deep breaths. Look at me," he held her face in his palms, making her face him. Her face was puffed, dampened with tears and Taehyung's eyes turned moist. He quickly pulled her into a soft hug, brushing her hair softly as she broke down.

"I will make sure he doesn't come near you. Bobae, you're with me. He has to cross me before he could even appear in front of you. I promise to keep you safe, Bobae," Taehyung reassured as Bobae's sobs got lighter each minute.

People gathered around them for some time, some jealous of the girl in the campus' heartthrob's hearts, some truly concerned for the girl, some curious, and some trying to understand whatever was happening between the toppers of their department.

Jimin, Jungkook, and Jackson cleared the crowd, requesting some space. Taehyung didn't care for the when it comes to Bobae. He just wants her to feel safe and he'd do it at all costs, even if he has to burn the world.

"Here, drink some water," Taehyung pulled her out of the hug. Bobae didn't look up to meet anyone's eyes, visibly mortified of what has happened a few moments ago. She didn't wish for a day when her vulnerability was exposed to her peers and friends. Her weakest emotions unfortifying to the point where she looked terribly defenseless was the last thing she ever wanted.

"You don't have to feel embarrassed, Bobae. It's okay to feel that way. You don't have to be strong always," Jackson mouthed, helping her with the water bottle and Bobae just accepted the help without responding much.

Jungkook was a bundle of nerves the entire time. Bobae never showed this side of herself to him and it stung his heart that he couldn't help her much. He was worried sick for her and was ready to take down the man who got her to this state, despite knowing nothing about him.

"It's okay, she will be fine. Taehyung is not the one to leave her in distress. I know it's overwhelming at once but let's wait until she gets better," Jimin pacified the distressed being and Jungkook nodded, wondering if Jimin had joined their team without their permission.

"You did great," Taehyung smiled, clearing the hair strands that were sticking to her face. Bobae looked at him with an indecipherable expression. Taehyung was just looking at her proudly while helping her adjust her clothes that were ruffled.

"You don't have to do this," Bobae mumbled softly, almost inaudible but Taehyung was too close to catch her words.

"Oh! I love to do this. Bobae, you should know by now that you are the most important person to me here," Taehyung placed a soft peck on her forehead. Bobae was flustered and Jimin felt betrayed. The people who were still peeking and glancing around almost squealed at the handsome-lovesick-fool's act.

"Taehyung!" Bobae gasped and he just chuckled, pinching the girl's fluffy cheeks.

"About the man-"

"No, not now. Now is not the right time, bobagirl. I need you to refresh your mind, take some rest, eat lots of food, and then we can discuss it," Taehyung interrupted her and Bobae nodded. Bobae looked at Jackson, Jimin, and Jungkook and smiled at them.

"Thank you," she meant it. They respected her and were there for her when she needed them the most. They didn't abandon her once she turned difficult to figure out.

"What are friends for?" Jackson winked, displaying a toothy smile.

Bobae turned to Jungkook and the latter instantaneously pulled his best friend into a bone-crushing hug. Bobae was scared for her ribs but she could feel the fear in her bunny-toothed friend.

"You're strangling her," Taehyung unclasped Jungkook from the endearing embrace who in turn threw daggers at him.

Bobae took in some air and chuckled at the duo who are always ready to throw mud into each others' eyes. Jimin walked forward and threw a smile that meant a lot of things. That he is now a member of the club who would do anything to bring a smile to Bobae's face.

"Jungkook, Jimin, can you please taek Bobae home? I need to take care of things here and I will join y'all soon," Taehyung requested and Jimin eagerly offered a drive on his flashy pink Lamborghini. Bobae looked at Taehyung once before tagging along with Jimin and Jungkook.

"I guess we both have the same thing in our mind right now," Jackson spoke, rolling up his sleeves.

"That motherfucker will go down today"

"Sunbae, do I really have to sit like this today? Jobless?" Seokjin complained, pouting as he watched Kiko work on some files that were supposed to be submitted before that day. She asked Seokjin to go home and rest but the latter insisted on accompanying his senior.

That's an excuse

He just wants to stare at her

Seokjin might be a pain in the ass but Kiko was already caught in his charms and any sane person would know that it's impossible to resist them. She wasn't sure of her feelings though but she couldn't deny that he was the only person who genuinely cared for her and looked after her.

She didn't want to depend on anyone

But it felt okay to be supported when it was him

"Seokjin, you can go home if you feel bored. I can manage," Bobae suggested and Seokjin just shook his head, placing his head on the desk, and started playing with his fingers. It was either a whole rush of break-less work or just playing with air, nothing in between.

"Sunbae, you promised me that you'll let me walk you to your house," Seokjin whined, getting up from the desk. After spending some time with Kiko the day before, the handsome intern somehow managed to convince her that he would tag along when she returns home.

"Either drop or walk, Seokjin. I can't expect you to trouble yourself by walking such a long distance with me," Kiko was still hesitating about Seokjin accompanying her every day. But he was too cute to reject yesterday and she gave in to his requests.

"Oh definitely not, that way I could spend more time with you," Seokjin shamelessly stated, making Kiko halt whatever she was doing, She tried her best to act unhazed but she felt her cheeks getting heated. Seokjin was gracefully flirting and it was absolutely unsurprisingly working on her.

Was it "The 20 Questions" charm?

"Seokjin, stop"

"Stop what, sunbae?" Seokjin asked, innocently raising his eyebrows like he wasn't aware of what he was doing. Kiko was about to respond but suddenly everyone in the department started panicking and organizing things.

Both of them looked at each other and then at the people adjusting their ties, waking up the ones who were snoring on the desks and switching on their PCs. It was a minute later that they understood the room.

"Good evening, sir. We are so pleased to see you," The Team Head greeted the man standing in front of everyone, carrying a powerful demeanor. Seokjin and Kiko stood up at once and bowed to the CEO.

"Ms. Kiko, right?" CEO Kim recognized her immediately. To everyone else, she earned her spotlight with her excellent presentation last time. But to the CEO, it was his son's mentor. It irked him to see his son being ordered around as if he wasn't the heir to one of the biggest corporations on the continent. But his son has shown a great improvement in financial management and understanding employees. So he decided to let go until he takes up the position.

"How are things on the line of the Inventory with the new Hotel Line?" the CEO asked and Kiko was calming herself down, repeating words inside her head.

Please don't stutter

"We have discussed most of the things and 90% of the report is done. We are confident about finishing it by the deadline, sir. We will make sure to produce the best effective report, sir" Kiko stated and the CEO nodded, mostly eyeing Seokjin whose eyes are on Kiko.

"Great! I am looking forward to the meeting ahead. I'll be leaving then" the CEO announced and everyone bowed to him.

"Can I borrow your intern for some time? I need to look for a document and I could use some help. As you know my personal secretary is on sick leave today," he asked for Seokjin and the younger tilted his head, agreeing to volunteer in a fit of pique.

"Thank you," the CEO left and Seokjin started to leave.

"Don't fall in trouble. I don't want you to be fired before you could find a full-time job," Kiko cautioned and Seokjin just giggled.

"I know. But can you answer this for me later?"

"What?"

"Mint choco tteotbokki or me?"
