When thinking about Astor, the first thing that usually pops up in a lot of people's minds is that he is a refined gentleman with a touch of femininity. He is almost the very epitome of the ideal dreamboat, and he knows that all too well which he prides himself on. He is absolutely dashing and can and will charm, charm, charm his way out of nearly any dire situation without breaking a sweat. After all, being the most handsome in the land, he has a reputation to uphold.
But, of course, it isn't always just about appearances. He is vastly smarter and more cunning than he lets on, and behind his flirtatious pretty boy demeanour is a fierce and passionate warrior and his cocky overconfidence at times is mostly just him kidding around. He can actually be quite playful, sassy, and open minded as well as a devoted partner through and through. He has endless depth to him though he often prefers to keep his true self buried, only letting his walls down for a select few loved ones.
Asides from that, he genuinely does have a pure golden heart. He will never ever stand for any kind of mistreatment and/or unfairness on anyone or anything especially with mythical creatures, and he'll instantly be onto that problem right at the moment he sees it. He strongly believes on treating others the way one wants to be treated. However, if anyone dares to cross him, then he has a really sharp tongue and a wide variety of plans to completely and utterly make their life even worse than Hell and to deeply regret having angered him. Safe to say, he is someone that one would want on their side and not against.
|BACKGROUND|
Astor's father, Clarke Bennett, was a wizard. Whereas his mother, Antonia vån Stryke, was a human. Antonia was formerly the prominent Queen of Lust, and she was unexplainably gorgeous. As a result, she has garnered many admirers all throughout the land and had a personal harem with men ranging from royalty to commoner. Clarke was a part of her harem, but he found himself having fallen madly smitten with her. Thus, in a desperate attempt, he concocted a powerful love potion and tricked Antonia into drinking it. It worked, and they eventually got married as Clarke chose to share his new wife's surname while Antonia conceived Astor.
Astor had a normal enough life. For a rising prince, that is. News travelled fast about his birth and everyone rejoiced for the young prince. He was always fed with not only a silver spoon, but a golden spoon. Literally. He was rather spoiled and pampered, and easily obtained anything he wanted. But he was never shallow or bratty, and knew to be humble and grateful for all the blessings bestowed upon him.
From an early age, Astor knew of his father's identity. Supernatural beings are greatly shunned and hunted in the infamous Land of Sin, so it was simply understandable for Clarke to lie about his race for protection. But upon Astor stumbling on him cleaning his son's room using magic purely by chance, Astor's been hooked since then. He didn't see anything wrong with it, and was extremely intrigued at its wondrous elements. So he continuously pushed until Clarke finally gave in, and he taught Astor all that he was familiar with on the condition that he keeps everything a secret. It was also fantastic bonding time for them, as they grew significantly closer to each other and Astor was a total Daddy's boy.
Before long, though, the effects of the love potion wore off and Antonia was livid. But she knew that she couldn't start a huge fuss and as much as she now despised Astor, she still required an heir. So, she arranged for a top covert meeting with some of the kingdom's best assassins and had Clarke brutally murdered. Obviously, his tragic and sudden death was an immense blow for Astor. But he was determined to find out what exactly happened, so with his unyielding persistence and a little bit of magic he discovered the harsh truth.
Soon after his dear father's passing, Astor's lavish lifestyle has been stripped away. He still lived in the castle and all, though it wasn't as extravagant anymore due to his mother's burning spite. Not a day went by when she didn't verbally and emotionally abuse him, and it came to the point when Astor merely has had enough. So he came up with a devious and intricate plan, where slowly but surely he poisoned her food while she suffered obliviously and increasingly became gravely ill. And, with her last withering breath, her gaze locked on Astor with a wicked smile as his sapphire eyes glinted with sick satisfaction.
He has more than successfully avenged Clarke, and have taken his rightful place. Nothing can stop him now.
|OTHER|
Astor has a faint accent, one that would be considered as modern day British. It only adds on to his appeal even more and for folks to further be helplessly attracted to him.
He enjoys calling people pet names or making up creative nicknames for friends and foes alike. They either love it or hate it, there's no in between and he is just entertained by the different reactions he receives.
He detests it when people assume him to be a manslut. Sure he's a bit of a playboy and he likes to have his wild fun, but he still has high standards and wouldn't just go blindly fraternizing with everyone he meets. Although, as much as he adored his father, Astor never wishes to be like him where love turned out to be his ultimate downfall.
He harbours a soft spot for nature and animals. Mainly because he used to practice magic and such a lot in the nearby forest with Clarke, so he learned to thoroughly appreciate and connect with them.
He built a hidden passageway in his bedroom which winds into a large galore of witchcraft books and ritual equipment carefully stashed away that he uses when necessary. But occasionally, he'd just hang out there and relax far away from everything else.
He is known as a fellow of eccentricity and, sometimes, controversy. He does whatever he wants whenever he wants, with little to no regard of society's stifling opinions. He's a free man who just wants to live to the fullest and someone who is incredibly comfortable with himself. There's never a dull moment with him around, and one will find that they will more often than naught be pleasantly surprised by him and his outlook.
