Kenny must've gotten the hint because he nodded and stood up, saying something to the gang before walking towards the toilets.
"I'm going to piss." I mumbled, not waiting for a response.
I saw him in front of one of the stalls, tapping his foot lightly on the checkered floor.
"Mmmfmm."
"Kenny, can you take the thing off your mouth."
"Oh yeah." He smiled, unzipping his mouthpiece and taking down his hood to show his face. He had pale skin with light freckles covering a button like nose. The lights above made stars in his dark blue eyes, his smile was small and cute: showing a few missing teeth, probably from home.
"So...." I mumbled awkwardly,
"Craig, I want an explanation."
"As I said, I got into a fight."
"Craig. I don't think you won," he sighed sympathetically,
"What gave you that idea."
"One, you're not bragging about it. Two, you obviously want to tell me something else. Three, I saw the fear and nervousness in your eyes when Kyle asked about it."
"Y-Yeah, ok you got me there." I muttered, looking down and rubbing my arm.
"Craig, you can talk to me."
"I-I can't." I could hear my voice crack as tears welled in my eyes.
"Is it home?"
"No..." I shook my head, still not looking at him.
"Is it... Is it your boyfriend?" He asked, causing my heart stop and my chest seize up in fear.
"I'm single, remember." I smiled nervously,
"Craig, I know you're dating one of the older kids. I heard him talking about you to his mates as I walked past."
"Oh,"
"Look at me." He said sternly, causing me to raise my head and make eye contact.
He walked closer, inspecting my black eye and busted lip.
"Answer me again, is this the work of your boyfriend?" He muttered, touching the bruise, making me wince.
"Y-Yes." I couldn't help it, I crumpled to the floor, holding my head in my hands as I cried silently. "Yes it is!" I yelled, as I felt a pair of arms wrap around me, trying to calm me down.
"Is this the first time he's done it?" I shook my head again.
"No, h-he does it a-a lot."
"Can you show me?" He sighed, helping me stand back up.
"W-What?"
"He's obviously left more bruises, so I want to see."
"No way dude, I'm not stripping in front of you. You perv."
"Craig, taking your shirt off is hardly stripping. Trust me, I know." He winked playfully, causing me to blush lightly and nod.
"Ok, whatever." I mumbled, taking off my coat and showing him my arms. He gasped lightly, running his fingers over the marks carefully.
"Jesus dude. You're covered." He wasn't lying, there was hardly a spot that wasn't blue or purple.
"This isn't even the worst of it." I muttered quietly, taking off my shirt, blushing harder. I could swear I saw Kenny blush slightly as he circled round me.
"What the fuck..."
I managed to see myself in the mirror and instantly cringed, I was covered in bruises and scratches. Mark would come home and if he hadn't managed to knock up some chick, he'd take it out on me. It happened a lot more often, hence the bite marks and scratches down my back.
"H-He...."
"Abuses? Hits? Rapes? Choose a word Kenny, anything would probably fit." I yelled, loosing my temper slightly.
"Craig, I'm-" he cut off, pulling me into another hug, rubbing my back lightly. I hesitated slightly before hugging back. Out of all the people who live here, the poor, perverted kid wasn't who I thought I would be telling. This was a different side of Kenny I didn't think I would see.
"Lets get back, Cartman's probably telling everyone we're having sex." I muttered, chuckling lightly.
"Yeah, alright." He nodded, zipping his mouthguard and pulling up his hood, walking back. I followed behind, Sitting back with the guys.
"Craig, you took ages." Clyde whined.
"Oh shut it." I rolled my eyes, laughing slightly as Kenny punched Cartman in the face.
"W-What where y-you doing in there?"
"Your mum."
"The fuck Craig?" Token sighed, clearly done with all of us. I shrugged and took a drink out of Clyde's juice box, flipping him off.
"Dude!"
"Do you want it back?"
"No way, keep it." He stuck his tongue out, showing his distaste.
"Clyde, I'll buy you another juice." Token nodded, before he could start complaining.
They stood up and walked to the lunch line.
"D-Do you think t-they, agh, have a-a thing going o-on?"
"Definitely."
"Wanna b-bet?"
"Four weeks."
"T-Three."
"Deal." I laughed, shaking the spaz's hand.
"Ten bucks?"
"L-Like always."
The day carried on like normal, I waited at the bus stop with Cartman's gang like always.
"So, Craig, you going straight home?"
"Yep. I've gotta feed stripe and watch my show." I didn't want to admit to still watching Red Racer.
"Why do you still have the hamster-"
"-guinea pig,"
"If you and Tweek broke up?" Kyle finished, ignoring my interruption,
"I like him." I shrugged, getting on the bus. I was about to sit next to Stan, when the familiar deep, drunk voice spoke up.
"Craig, come sit here." Mark.
"O-Ok." I nodded quickly, feeling the anxiety start.
"Dude, c'mon." Stan and Kyle whined,
"Yeah, go tell that guy you're sitting with your kewl friends."
I glanced at Kenny who gave a worried look, I sighed and shook my head,
"I told him I would sit with him." I lied, walking over to the front, sitting next to him.
"Hey, Craigy." He smirked, "can I see your arms?"
"H-Here?"
"Did I stutter?"
"No." I sighed, rolling up my sleeves to show him his work causing him to laugh proudly.
"Good, remember it's our secret." I nodded quickly, getting off the bus and walking the last few steps home.
"Mum, I'm back." I smiled at here, hoping she didn't notice the huge
bruise on my face.
"Hello- Craig, what happened?"
"I, umm, I got into a fight at school..." I decided to keep the same lie.
"Honey, you need to be careful, go upstairs and have a warm bath. It'll soothe the injuries."
"Alright mum." I nodded, going upstairs to do what I was told.
