Chapter 12
Now it's time to see what Mitsu's up to. And let's see what Add does. And let's see what (y/n) does too! And...I'm just going to start the chapter now...

Add didn't see this coming. He didn't understand enough about how (y/n)'s power worked for him to have prevented the cat's escape of sorts. The mysterious cat literally chewed its way out of its energy prison and scampered off with (y/n) chasing after it. Add was out of range to be able to use the same trick from earlier so of course he had to go after the now very annoying cat as well.
"Mitsu! Come back here! I command you to return to my consciousness!" (y/n) shouted after the eerily fast cat that only seemed to be a blurry shadow zooming across the ground. Add only sighed. (Y/n) was letting her frustration get to her and she now failed to realized that she could simply say "stop" and the cat would have no choice but to stop.
Add didn't care though. He would catch the cat if he had no other choice but for now he would just let (y/n) handle the whole ordeal. It was her cat after all and it was somewhat amusing for Add to see (y/n) fly after the black speeding blur. It was also another chance for him to gather more data on the girl's wings.
Even after so much time, he still hadn't entirely figured them out. Whenever he thought he knew everything, something new would happen such as that one time (y/n)'s wings both glowed with silver light rather than being two separate colors. He remembered the day quite well since it was the very first time he'd gone on a mission with (y/n).
She had two years of experience and had never been allowed outside of the library so she had been overly excited for the simple mission. Unfortunately, it had gone terribly wrong. All they had to do was travel to a nearby village that was only a day's time away. Add knew it wouldn't be a problem for him since he could only be away from the library for a week before he'd die.
"So we're just going to go there, buy a few things, and then come back...but that sounds boring," (y/n) said complained despite her eagerness to leave.
"There's a reason behind everything we do. You don't get it but it's not like it matters," Add told her with a sigh.
"Oh we should have cool code names! Mine can be Silver and yours...yours...I don't know," she said as though not hearing a thing Add said.
"We will not have code names. Where did you get such a ridiculous idea anyway? You know what, I don't want to know. We're wasting time here so let's go," Add spoke. He used his dynamos to leave the library with (y/n) flying to follow.
"Oh I know! I can call you Arc Tracer!" (y/n) said once they were outside the library. (Y/n) was obviously ignoring his comment about the code names. If she didn't possess mysterious magical ability that he wanted to study, he would have gotten rid of her a long time ago. Or at least he'd like to think so.
"I said no code names," he muttered as he scanned the trees for any unfortunate travelers. "Come on let's go." (Y/n) hadn't moved an inch. All of the excitement suddenly drained from her and she looked at him with emotionless an expression.
"We're going that way?" she asked with just as much emotion. It was a direct contrast to her enthusiasm just seconds ago.
"Yes. Is there a problem?" Add said as he smirked at her sudden reaction. She simply shook her head at him and began to follow. He had learned that she would go into a sort of shut down mode whenever something she didn't like was happening. They had gotten to their destination without any problems that night. The guards hadn't noticed their presence thanks to (y/n)'s cloaking ability so they stayed in an abandoned building closest to the village exit.
(Y/n) had remained in her shut down mode the entire time and Add recorded the data that he observed in her behaviors. It was all a part of his plan. He'd known the direction that she'd come running from the day he found her so he figured that if he brought her back, he might be able to see a difference in her magical attacks. Just as planned, they left the village without the cloaking ability which of course caught the guards' attention.
"Go ahead, (y/n). Deal with them for me. It's the least you can do after I saved you," Add said. He was purposely pulling the strings of her emotions which he had learned how to control when it came to things like anger or even sadness. (Y/n) did as she was told and she attacked the guards with more attack power than usual just as Add predicted. It seemed too easy.
"Alright, (y/n). That's enough. We can go now. They've learned their lesson," Add said but someone from the village arrived and yelled at (y/n).
"You! You beast! I will not let you escape again!" this odd person said. This was not in Add's calculations. Nasods weren't either. This village had nasods? Not likely, but this person must have hired them. (Y/n)'s faced became painted with emotion again but it was an emotion that Add had not seen in a while, fear.
"You know him?" Add asked her while getting his dynamos ready for a fight but (y/n) didn't answer. Her fearful expression began to change into more than just anger. It was perhaps rage.
"You...you will pay...for what you did. I will never forgive you," (y/n) whispered as tears began running down the left side of her face only. The man with the nasods laughed somewhat evilly.
"You don't even know anything about those powers of yours!" he bellowed as he gestured for his nasod employees to attack. Add would have never known what the man knew because when he looked at (y/n), her wings, hair, and eyes had become a brilliant silver. This was entirely new and Add had no data on this form of hers.
In a flash, (y/n) summoned a double sided scythe for the first time and darted forward with the weapon. She expertly took out all who were in her way within seconds as though she were very familiar with the weapon that she'd never used before. Add thought it was incredible and simply watched as she cut down her former enemies with no problem. The man from earlier was in a state of shock and (y/n) was headed towards him next since every other nasod was now destroyed.
"(Y/n) wait!" Add called which stopped her in her tracks. She turned her attention to him, the glare and anger still apparent. Add nearly flinched not used to seeing her that way. "Don't kill him. We need the information that he knows," Add said with the intention of getting the research for himself. (Y/n) narrowed her eyes at him before turning her back in him. She swung the scythe around and it turned into a double sided spear. With her new weapon she plunged it through the man's stomach and whipped the weapon around until it was free of his blood and walked towards Add with a murderous look in her eyes.
When she darted forward, she disappeared only to end up reappearing right behind him with her weapon ready to strike. Add quickly dodged her attacks and even launched his own attack with his dynamos. (Y/n) was increasingly better than ever and was now able to dodge or block all of Add's attacks.
"Hey, what's wrong with you?" he finally shouted while dodging an attack from one side of her spear that nearly slit his throat. The irises of her eyes were quite lifeless despite the anger leaking from them. It was clear then that she'd lost control of herself.
"You've got to stop," Add said to himself and performed one of his more advanced attacks which sent (y/n) flying backwards only for her to disappear again. He knew she'd appear behind him so he quickly whipped around and attacked only to find that she wasn't there. A sharp pain went across his back and he realized his mistake. She knew him well and likely baited him to turn around. Add refused to go down so easily though. He used his dynamos to deliver a direct hit. (Y/n) took the attack and fell down, losing the aura of power and silver coloring.
"Dammit. Get up (y/n)," Add said. She reopened her eyes which were back to their usual color and they widened at the destruction around them.
"Add? W-what happened?" she said as she jumped up and ran to him. He slapped her hand away from him when she tried to touch his shoulder. It hadn't been her fault yet Add chose to put the blame on her.
"You did this," he said as he glared at her. As expected, she flinched but didn't ignore the fresh wound she had unknowingly inflicted on him. She backed up and said "heal" and a symbol similar to the symbol for "cure" appeared. They went back to the library after that and Add learned quite a lot about her that day. From then onward, he was careful not to upset her and made sure to keep her happy as much as he could.
"Add! Why aren't you helping?!" (y/n) said as she struggled to hold down the cat. Add sighed and hovered over to her and took Mitsu from her with the help of his dynamos. He dodged all of the claw attacks that Mitsu launched at him and restrained the cat while bringing her back to his lab with a confused (y/n) now following behind him.
