Chapter 5
Here's yet another chapter! I had to think a good bit before writing this so I hope I do well.

Add guided (y/n) to the spot where the lab would be. She was still crying and it really bothered him. Seeing his best friend, and possibly only friend, crying was not a pleasant sight. Even after she'd gotten rid of the cat tattoo and made sure the laboratory was in place, the tears did not stop. Add could stand it anymore. "(Y/n) stop crying, please," he said as he turned her around to face him. She did just the opposite of what he said. (Y/n) hugged Add and cried even more. Add took this opportunity to teleport them to the inside of the laboratory while she was standing still against him.
"Why is it that the most awful people in this world aren't truly punished while the genuinely good people suffer?" she asked him. Add didn't have an answer to her question so he stayed silent. "Why? Why, why, why?" she pleaded as her sadness converted into anger.
"(Y/n), you need to calm down. If you allow things from your past to resurface, you'll only ruin your future," Add said to her. She let him go and looked at him with an emotionless expression. It was such a quick change that it startled Add.
"Is that what you told yourself? Is that how you moved on from your past?" she asked. Add had never told her about his past, so he was a little surprised that she knew about it. Or had she just made an assumption based on what he just told her? "You must have had a wonderful family at some point in your life. Surely you know what it's like to lose that family but our families were different weren't they. Yours actually truly loved you didn't they Add," (y/n) said as her emotions began to show again.
"(Y/n), what are you trying to say?" Add said as he kept his gaze on her.
She didn't look at him when she spoke. "What I'm saying is you don't truly understand the pain that I'm going through. Your pain is different from my own. There really isn't anything that you can say that will convince me otherwise," (y/n) said and she turned around and started to walk away. Add caught her by the wrist before she did though. She turned around to face him and he let her wrist go.
"Surely this isn't what you wanted to tell me. I know you better than that (y/n). You were going to go into detail about your past weren't you. I never did tell you my story, so how could you just assume that I don't know what it is that you feel? Those emotions that I see burning in your eyes were the same ones that I felt. They once burned in my eyes as well. Don't tell me that I don't get it because I know those feelings all too well," Add said. He hadn't noticed until then that his tone was that of anger and he'd backed (y/n) to a wall. His gaze on her softened and he put his hand to her cheek.
"Look into my eyes, (y/n)," he commanded. She did so and he leaned closer to her to look into hers. "Those emotions are gone aren't they. You don't see them do you? I can't stand seeing you in pain like this. If you don't allow me to help, you'll never get better. You can tell me your entire story and I'll tell you mine. If you're still convinced that I don't understand your emotions, I promise that I'll leave you alone. If not, you'll listen to me. Won't you?" Add said as his hand left her face.
He waited for her to answer. "Yes, I'll listen to you...but only if I change my mind," she said.
"Good," Add said with a smile. (Y/n) eyes widened and Add thought it was because she finally noticed just how close he was to her, but that wasn't it. She smiled at him too.
"Add, you just smiled. You actually smiled for once. Not because I told you a joke or something but because you just wanted to," she said happily.
"I guess I did," Add said, happy that (y/n) already seemed to be forgetting about what happened in her past.
"Your eyes are still so pretty," (y/n) said as she leaned just a little closer to him. Her eyes were stunning as well, but he couldn't tell her that right now. He was already trying to keep himself from turning red like he usually did when she said things like that. Then something happened that completely kept his plan from working. She kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you for making me feel better. I think I'll go take a nap. I'm tired now. We can talk later okay." Add's face was inevitably red now and (y/n) only laughed at him for it.
She slightly pushed him a little so that she could get by but Add wouldn't budge. "(Y/n)...I need you to answer this question truthfully because your life depends on it," Add whispered. (Y/n) looked at him in confusion and Add put his head against the wall next to hers. He had suspected this before now but (y/n)'s actions had just confirmed his suspicions. It was something that he'd dreaded ever since meeting her, but also something he hoped for after truly getting to know her. "Tell me, (y/n)...do you love me?" he asked as he let his head rest on her shoulder.
"....Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?" she said in response. The fact that she needed no time to answer his question worried him even more.
"Aren't you afraid of losing me like you lost your parents?" he asked almost pleadingly.
"I didn't love my parents and they never loved me. What does this have to do with your question?" (y/n) said.
"The thing is, I love you as well but I can't. You'll be ripped away from me just like everyone else was. I still have enemies out there. They could never harm me before, but they can now," Add said as he fought back tears. His would be happiness was replaced with his overwhelming heartbreak. How could love do this to a person?
"Harm you? But why now? What happened to make your enemies have the ability to harm you? You aren't making sense Add," (y/n) said with frustration.
"I gained a weakness. Just now, I gained a weakness that I never wanted to have but knew was inevitable," Add said.
"What?" (Y/n)'s obliviousness was mainly from denial and disbelief. Add could tell because she was starting to shake a little.
"You. You just said that you loved me. Everyone that has ever said that is dead now. Don't you get it? I'm going to lose you," Add said, pulling (y/n) into a hug. "Damn it! Why did you did I let this happen? Why did you steal my heart?"
(Y/n) only stood there frozen I'm place. Perhaps Add had said too much at the wrong time. He now felt like (y/n) did when she found out that her parents had gotten done with their petty sentences. "Add...is there something you should tell me?" (y/n) asked. Add only stayed silent in response.
