Chapter 28

I'm starting to think that I'm going to need to write more than I originally planned but that's okay. You guys don't mind right?

Riding the train was a very different experience than last time. Add preferred to stay to the back so that they wouldn't be bothered, but as they walked, (y/n) kept getting stared at by people she'd rather not have looking at her. Add noticed too, but both of them seemed to push the matter aside. When they took their seat and the train ride began, things got weirder.

Some of the same people that had been looking in (y/n)'s direction kept passing them by as if they were claiming to be doing one thing but were instead doing another. Every time one would pass by, they would look at (y/n) and then look at Add as if deciding whether they could fight him or not. (Y/n) could tell that it was really getting on Add's nerves.

They still had long hours of train riding ahead of them, and (y/n) didn't think that Add would go the whole ride without saying or doing anything if this behavior kept happening. While she was thinking of something to solve the problem, Add must have come up with his own solution because he no longer held his aura of irritation. He pulled (y/n) into his lap, wrapped his arms around her waist before resting his head on her shoulder. "Add...what are you doing?" (y/n) asked.

"Nothing," Add replied. There was a lot of noticeable slyness in his response.

"That isn't what I meant but okay," (y/n) muttered. Add gave a slight laugh but otherwise did nothing. His actions didn't seem to solve their problem, but Add didn't seem to care about that anymore. He was more relaxed and carefree like he was when he was younger. (Y/n) liked seeing him that way, but it didn't last the entire train ride.

When the train stopped in Bethma, the same group of people moved from their seats and crowded the back of the train where no one but Add and (y/n) were sitting.

Add immediately tensed up and wrapped his arms tighter around (y/n). She noticed that these people were all members of a gang of some sort. Their leader must have been among them somewhere. Add's relaxed and carefree mood went away and didn't return even when they arrived at their stop. (Y/n) almost had to pull Add off of the train, but they did leave it. Unexpectedly, the gang got off at the same stop as them. They waited until she and Add left the train before they actually got off. To make matters worse, the gang followed them in a very obvious way and now it was getting on (y/n)'s nerves too. She looked to Add who had his eyes closed as they walked.

Despite having his eyes closed, he knew exactly where he was going. (Y/n) tried ignoring the group, but she couldn't help but glance back at them, noticing that half of them were missing. When she turned around, the other half were all stopped in front if her and Add. Add stopped too but kept his eyes closed as he sighed.

"Are you people going to move out of my way or am I going to have to move you myself," Add said.

One of the gang members stepped forward and he must have been the leader because he dressed differently from the others. "You threatenin us? We came here to get the girl anyway, so this ain't even your problem. Now step aside so we can get the package and get paid," the guy said.

"Package? She's a package to you? Just get out of my way before I kick your ass," Add spat. He still had his eyes closed. (Y/n) didn't dare say anything. She only watched. It was most definitely the nasods that had sent them after her. They tended to use dull minded gangs like this one to do their dirty work. Add finally opened his eyes, and his piercing gaze scared the hell out of the gang leader. He took a step back as Add's dynamos activated.

"Move," Add ordered. The leader didn't hesitate to get out of the way this time. Upon seeing their leader fleeing, the others fled too. (Y/n) couldn't help but find it amusing.

"Add, don't you think you scared them a bit too much," (y/n) spoke with a laugh. Add just smirked at her and they continued their walk.

"We're headed to Altera Core. I have a feeling that that's where your parents are," he said. Add still seemed tense which only made (y/n) worry. She suddenly got a terrible feeling about their destination.

"Add...why do I feel like this is going to be worse than when we faught Wally? It feels like this will be the last time I see you," (y/n) said. It was the same feeling she had last time Add went to Altera Core, but he came back so that meant that even if he did disappear, she would still see him again right?

Add didn't answer her right away which only made her worry even more. "I don't know. You're right though. I have a pretty bad feeling about this," Add said after they been walking for a while. It was almost nighttime so there weren't very many people out as there usually was during the afternoon. (Y/n) didn't like the dreadful feeling that heading to Altera Core gave her, so she decided to make the best of whatever time she was spending with Add before they got to the battle that could determine how they lived the rest of their lives.

(Y/n) was hesitant at first but she decided to ask anyway. "Add...can you carry me again?" she asked. He looked over to her with a questioning look but then he smirked at her.

"I thought I wasn't supposed to," Add said playfully.

"That's because you were hurt! You aren't anymore but if you don't want to then that's perfectly fine with me," (y/n) huffed.

Add stopped. "Come on before I change my mind," he said when (y/n) looked at him in confusion. She grinned at him as he carried her piggyback style all the way to the entrance of Altera Core.
