Chapter 1
Welcome to the first chapter. This will be different from my other book in many ways so yeah, enjoy!

Add had nothing to fear. The El Search Party was nowhere near him and they had no idea how or where to find his secret laboratory. He didn't need to hide his appearance from anyone at all. Everyone knew who he was but no one dared to bother him.
Yes, Add was only thirteen years old at the moment, but he already had a reputation. Most people who faught him for simply being himself usually ended up losing badly.
As Add walked down the streets of Elder, everyone avoided him like they would a plague. Add liked it that way. He could go where he wanted to and if anyone from the El Search Party were to show up, he'd simply go to his hidden laboratory. He thought about how fortunate he was but his thoughts were suddenly interrupted.
Someone had run into him, a girl to be specific. He didn't mean to, but he caught her before they both fell to the ground. He and the girl quickly recovered from the fall, but before Add could say anything else, the girl took off after muttering an apology to him. She was too fast, so Add wasn't able to stop her. As soon as he turned back around, he was met by a group of Red Knights. They stopped when they saw him. Add could tell that all of them were older than him by at least five years, yet Add saw the flash of fear that showed up in their eyes.
"Where is she?! She was working for you wasn't she?!" one shouted. Another just glared at Add and drew his sword. Any civilians in the area scattered quickly, probably noticing that a fight was about to break out. Of course the Red Knights would challenge him. They always did and they always lost and sent a message to the El Search Party.
Add looked at them in annoyance. There were five of them and they were obviously after the girl that he'd just run into. Well, technically she'd ran into him.
"What do you people want? All I'm doing is walking," Add said as he studied the knights with a bored expression. They didn't seem to care what it was that he was doing. They had their swords ready for a battle although Add didn't feel like fighting at the moment. In fact, he was headed home before all of this happened.
"You are already a fugitive of the law. If you cooperate and tell us where the girl is, we might be able to shorten your sentence. You are still a child afterall so you can't be charged as an adult yet," one of the Red Knights, who must have been the leader, said.
Accusing him of having something to do with a stranger had already annoyed him. Then these people called him a child and told him to cooperate with them. Were they out of their minds? Add just tilted his head at them, the bored expression still present. One of the knights seemed upset by his action.
Before anything could actually happen though, something dropped between the two of them. Add recognized it as nasod technology of some sort. It came to a stop, and for a second, all six of them stood there and watched it. That was...until it exploded. It was only a smoke bomb, but the smoke spread rather quickly. Add sensed another presense among them and someone suddenly grabbed his arm and began to pull him away.
"What the.." Add was saying in protest but he was cut off by the same voice he'd heard earlier. The girl who had muttered the apology to him. He recognized her voice.
"Quiet, or they'll find our location and follow us," she whispered. The girl pulled him along and he decided to go with her since he didn't want to stay with the Red Knights. They were running now and they had already exited the smoke. The girl had his hand and pulled him along with her as she ran. She seemed to be around his age and she was actually pretty. Add couldn't help but notice this as he studied her and took note of the tattoo that was around her wrist.
They went down different alleys and eventually left Elder altogether. The girl finally stopped once they were a good distance away but within sight of Elder village. She let go of his hand and then looked around. "Oh, sorry for bringing you so far out here," she said once she actually realized how far they'd gone.
"Who are you and why are the Red Knights after you?" Add asked, ignoring her comment. She seemed caught off guard by his sudden inquiry but she answered anyway.
"My name is (y/n). I'm a nasod researcher and have been one since I was able to read," (y/n) said. Add's interest was caught at the mentioning of nasod research. There was no need for (y/n) to explain why the Red Knights were after her now. Being a nasod researcher was a good enough reason.
"I'm guessing you're the one who made that smoke bomb that was used back there," Add said conclusively. (Y/n) nodded in response. "So why'd you use that? I could have handled the situation myself," Add wondered. (Y/n) nodded again, this time showing that she agreed with Add's statement rather than answering him.
"I know exactly who you are. You're Add right? You're a nasod researcher too. I actually came here to find you. I tracked the El Search Party's movement whenever they looked for you and they kept returning to Elder, so I figured that this is where you primarily stay. It's a very clever place to stay since Altera is where most nasod researchers are expected to be and Ruben is just the opposite," (y/n) said. She held out her hand to him. "It's nice to finally meet you."
Add shook her hand. He was intrigued by her thought process. Only a true genius like himself could figure out his pattern. "You said you were looking for me. Why?" Add said.
(Y/n)'s expression then turned completely serious. "I came to ask you some things. You've successfully created a nasod technology and you're pretty good at using it according to the rumors. I've been trying to do the same for a while now but I've come across errors in my calculations and I'm constantly avoiding the El Search Party," she explained. Add almost laughed at her use of the word "avoiding". She made sure not to say run which Add thought was pretty smart of her to do.
"So you basically want my help. You came all the way here to ask a stranger for help based on mere rumors?" Add almost didn't believe such a notion.
"Yes. In return, if you accept, I'll give you my research," she said. She placed a hand over the tattoo on her wrist, which was a simple design that circled her wrist. When she held her hand over it, the tattoo disappeared. When she removed her hand, a flash drive was in it.
"That's actually pretty cool," Add admitted. (Y/n) grinned at him and held the flash drive out for him to look at. He tried to touch it but (y/n) pulled it away from him.
"No touching. My life's work is on this thing. Until I have your consent to my request, I cannot allow you to even touch it," (y/n) said.
"What if I refuse?" Add asked just to be stubborn.
"Then I leave you alone. I'll go back to my regular routine and continue my work without your help," she said. Add saw nothing wrong with that but (y/n) was interesting. She might actually know some things that he didn't know.
"Well I guess I'll have to help you out then, won't I," Add said with a smirk. (Y/n)'s eyes lit up at his response.
"Thank you very much Add. I will be in your debt for a long time," she said. Her happiness seemed to be growing by the seconds.
"Yeah whatever. There's just one thing I need to ask before those Red Knights over there attack us," Add said. Just as he expected, (y/n) ignored the Red Knights and kept her attention on him. "Where will you be staying?"
"I can find my own place but that means that you'll have to travel," (y/n) responded as she returned the flash drive to its tattoo form.
"That won't be necessary. You can stay with me since I've got extra room," Add said. He certainly didn't feel like traveling at the moment. (Y/n) only gave a nod in response. They both faced the group of Red Knights that were headed their way.
"I don't have my dynamos with me at the moment but don't underestimate me," Add said.
"Oh, so that's what they're called. Just so you know, I only had that one smoke bomb. I used the rest on my way here. I'm still a formidable force without my tech too though. Just don't get in my way and there shouldn't be any problems," (y/n) said.
"That's funny because I was going to tell you the same thing," Add said with a smirk. The Red Knights stopped when they saw that Add and (y/n) were aware of their presence.
"Lead the way," (y/n) said. Her hands glowed with a strange aura but Add had no time to question her about it. The Red Knights had charged at them, ready to attack.
