Chapter 21
(Y/n) got out of the cell as soon as the door opened. Add's dynamos had been faster and slipped through the cracks of the door before it completely opened.
"Your planned worked," (y/n) said in relief thinking that she was talking to Add.
"Hello, Master (Y/n). We must hurry! Master Add and Mr. Nasod Arm are both injured. They will need your help."
"Oh, Dynamo." The hall was relatively clear aside from the little floating nasod. "Then let's go. Locate the fastest route to King Nasod and scan for this factory's power source." (Y/n) started off in a sprint. "Go ahead of me if you can. Add's going to need as much of that frequency as he can get."
"The nasods in this factory are unable to enter the field without coming across harm, therefore I will chose to stay with you for the time being. Master Add should have his Dynamos in enough time to use the frequency himself." There was no need to argue with his logic, so (y/n) pressed onwards as fast as her legs would carry her. Dynamo kept up with ease.
Out of nowhere, an alarm began to blare across the factory as (y/n) ran. Even lasers began to beam across the hall.
"Whoa!" (Y/n) didn't have the time to stop. She easily avoided the lasers with her parkour experience by taking leaps over the beams and sliding across the floor when necessary. Dynamo also swerved around the obstacles without any problems. "Why is that thing just now activating?"
"Hypothesis. The alarm is a response to a hindrance in factory progress. Deduction. Master Add must have damaged an important part of the factory assembly line." Dynamo suddenly paused. (Y/n) skidded to a halt with him. "Power sources located."
"So there are multiple. Where are they?"
"They are within the same area as King Nasod himself. Master Add should be able to hack into the facility's coding to bring the generators out of hiding. However, I do not believe we have a chance of success. With this much power avaliable to him, King Nasod far exceeds Master Add's estimated calculations." Without warning, Dynamo resumed flying towards Add. "It is important that we give him this data before he reaches King Nasod."
"Are the numbers really that shocking??" For Dynamo to have completely stopped, it must have been something outrageous.
As they entered an open area in the factory, (y/n) began to hear the sounds of battle. Metal clashed against metal. Add's familiar shouts were heard as he likely pummeled any unfortunate nasod that got in the way of his dynamos.
"Add!" Her voice succesfully reached his ears, for he appeared at the other end of the factory room with Raven close behind him. She and Dynamo rushed over to meet up with them.
"Change of plans. We're heading straight to King Nasod. He's sending more nasods here to stop us. It's a losing battle for us if this turns into a test of endurance. He easily has us outnumbered," Add explained. He was a little battered, but otherwise (y/n) couldn't see any severe external harm. He leaned against Raven for support as he continued speaking. "Raven's going to assist us. He knows all the ways out of this place."
"Wait, before that, Dynamo has something important to tell you."
"I am sending the data as you speak," Dynamo informed.
Add was about to view the information, but instead sent his weapons darting past both (y/n) and Dynamo. They destroyed a nasod worker that tried to sneak up on them before returning to Add's side. The frequency from both Dynamo and Add's weapons would be enough to keep them safe for the moment.
"We can't just stand around. If we don't keep moving, we'll get stuck here," Raven pointed out.
"Look at the data, Add. It's important," (y/n) urged. Add gave her an exasperated sigh, but displayed the data in front of them to see. The color rushed right out of all their faces. Even without fully understanding what she was looking at, (y/n) could see that the charts displayed something horrendously abnormal.
"Five power generators..." Raven breathed.
Add blinked at the holograms in front of him. "Dynamo, are you sure this is correct?"
"The same data was given after three re-scan attempts. These are the correct projections. Even taking a marginal error into account, the numbers would only drop by three percent."
"We're going to die," Raven realized.
"No, no one is going to die," (y/n) quickly said. Panic was already starting to take root in their hearts. "We just have to leave this island and hope King Nasod doesn't actually bring about the apocalypse."
"You're looking at the factory. You see how much power he has to spare," Raven reasoned. "There is no way he isn't going to raise an army large enough to overtake this entire half of Elrios!" Raven wobbled a bit, but quickly caught himself to continue supporting Add. "And I helped him..."
"That wasn't you. He had you under a mind control," Add noted. "(Y/n)'s right though. Our only option for survival right now is to leave." The look in his eyes told (y/n) that he didn't intend to do that. "He'll be threatening my life in the future. I'd rather take him down now while there isn't an army protecting him. We won't have this chance again."
"Then do you have a plan? I'm not letting you go anywhere near that thing without one," (y/n) firmly stated. She didn't like what Add was alluding to.
"If it will be considered, I have a plan that has a forty-three percent success rate," Dynamo spoke up. They were all quiet for a moment.
"Then let's hear it. It's better than nothing," Add finally brought them back to reality.
"I can take the energy from the main generator on my own. It will be your task to destroy the other four. The cores on King Nasod's system will serve as a backup for a short amount of time, but if the generators are destroyed, he cannot reboot again." Dynamo sent Add another set of information. "These are their locations based on my scans. It will require a majority of my basic functions to be inactive. This includes my flight."
"This tiny thing can handle that much power?" Raven criticized.
"Dynamo is a sentient being who was once in charge of an ancient library that stored more power than King Nasod," Add explained. "He may look like this and act as my servant, but he is very capable of handling that much deadly power." Add closed his eyes to think about his companions words. "You need someone to keep you near the main generator then."
"I'll do it," (y/n) immediately offered. "I don't have my stones. I can't destroy a generator with my bare hands, but I have to help. I want to help."
"That leaves us to take care of the smaller generators. There are two on each side of the room." Raven pointed at the center of the holographic chamber. "The problem is getting these generators to actually appear. They're stored behind-"
"I have that covered. It's as simple as performing an open heart surgery," Add cut him off. "I can run a virus while I fight. It should keep the generators exposed for long enough."
"Add, that's not something normal people would consider easy..." (y/n) said with a slight laugh.
"Will you proceed with this plan, Master Add?" Dynamo didn't hesitate to shut down any banter that might have started between them. "The counter frequency will not keep those nasods away from much longer. They appear to be building a tolerance to it or ignoring it entirely."
"It's all we've got left. Let's take care of this pest and get off this filthy island."
