Chapter 8
Draco
I hadn't slept just about all week. I was about to marry Lila the next day and was a complete wreck just thinking about it. I had paced so much, I bet you could see a track in my carpet. Snape had given me a pep talk just about everyday to keep my spirit up, but none of them had worked. I felt like I was going to puke and just wanted to run away all at the same time. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Courtney. My beautiful Courtney. She was smiling up at me and telling me that she loved me. How I wished I could reach out and pull her into me.
"Draco."
I jumped and turned to see Lila coming into my room. She quickly closed the door behind her before turning back to me and leaning back against the door. I sighed as her sad eyes looked into mine. When I met her, she couldn't think of anything better than marrying me, but since she and Mitch had gotten together, she sort of didn't want anything to do with me anymore. She hadn't sought me out since then, so I was a tad bit baffled by why she was there in the first place.
"Yes?" I answered.
She swallowed hard. "I'm nervous about tomorrow, and Mitch can't even speak to me right now."
I sighed. "I'm nervous as well. Plus, I don't blame him. He probably doesn't want you to see him cry."
She shook her head. "He thinks that they'll make us consummate the marriage, but I don't think they will. The marriage is just enough. He's so angry with me because he says I'm naïve."
"Well, I hate to break it to you, Lila," I ran my fingers through my hair, "but you are being kind of stupid right now. He's making us marry. He's not gonna stop there. I know for a fact that he's going to make us consummate the marriage. He's going to make it as solid as he can. Plus, he selected us because we would be a good match for having children, pure-blood children. So, yes. We will be having sex tomorrow night."
"I was really hoping that you would be on my side about this," she slumped down to the floor. "My first time cannot be with you. No offense."
I sighed. "None taken." I sat down on my bed. "You're first time needs to be with Mitch. I can't take that away from him."
"But you're going to have to," she started crying. "You have to."
She was then moved by my door because it had opened to reveal Blaise. He came in and shut the door, apologizing when he realized that he had pushed Lila out of the way. He had helped her up and the turned to me.
"I have a surprise for both of you," he smiled at both of us. "You just have to come with me."
I shook my head. "No, man. I have to stay here tonight."
"They're not doing roll call tonight, Drake," he laughed. "I got that duty tonight thanks to Snape, who thinks its a great idea that I have this little surprise for both of you. So, you're coming with me. Alright?"
I smiled and nodded. "Alright then, mate."
We both followed him out of the house and into the night. We walked down to the end of the hill before he turned to both of us before we continued any farther. He reached out for both our hands, and as soon as we touched him, we apparated. When we reached our destination, I saw that we were in a hallway with white walls and purple carpeting. I let go of Blaise's hand and looked around. There were multiple doors with numbers on them. I raised an eyebrow at my best mate.
"What is this place?" I had asked.
"This is a muggle hotel," he stated, "and I have gotten each of you a room here. Draco, you will be in room 4. Lila, room 7."
"What am I supposed to do with these rooms?" I asked, seeing my room not too far down the hall.
Blaise smirked. "Go in and find out. Lila, your surprise is already in your room. I know because I set yours up myself," he opened her door and let her in. Then turned to me. "I'm not sure if your surprise has arrived yet or not. I had to speak with an outside party in order to retrieve it."
I shook my head. "Blaise, you're rather impossible."
"Go in your room, mate. You'll be thanking me. I promise."
I opened my door to find nothing but a bed and some black box that was perched on top of the dresser. I sighed before turning back to Blaise. "It's not here yet."
"Go inside and wait. You'll have till 3 am, mate. Use your time wisely."
I closed the door behind me. I looked around the room and wished there was a window, but I guess it was better without a window, seeing as how we shouldn't be out at all. I sat on the bed and looked around again, wondering what my surprise was. I then heard voices outside the door before it opened and revealed Alexandra Delecroux. I stood up, confused.
"He's in here!" she yelled before winking at me and disappearing from sight.
I walked towards the door and went to open it, but the knob turned before I could reach out for it. It creaked open, showing Courtney. She looked up at me with the biggest smile on her face before jumping into my arms. I kissed her like I never wanted to stop kissing her. I heard the door click closed before carrying her over to the bed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It's only 2," she whispered into my ear. "We still have an hour left."
I smiled at her before kissing her gently on the mouth. "I have missed you so much."
"I've missed you more," she said. "I'm glad to see that you've been keeping your promise."
I nodded. "It's the only thing that keeps me going."
"You know," she said, entwining her hand in mine. "I didn't even want to come tonight. Well, I did, but I thought I would endanger you, so I fought with Alexandra the whole way here."
"It makes sense that you would think that, but we're under Blaise's and Snape's protection," I kissed her again. "I'm so glad you're here though."
"Me too," she whispered. "I know that you're probably having second thoughts about tomorrow. Blaise told Alexandra that you almost said something to You-Know-Who last week when you found out he moved up the wedding."
"You stopped me though," I sighed, pulling her hands to my lips. "You have been in my head all week, saving me from myself."
"I hope it continues into tomorrow," her voice cracked. "You need to marry her, Draco. I also know that you are going to be forced into bed with her as well. Just know that it's okay. I won't hold it against you. I just ask that you don't fall in love with her when you do."
I shook my head. "Never. You are my heart."
She then got out of bed and dressed rather quickly.
"What are you doing?" I said, getting out of bed as well and pulling her into my arms. "We still have time."
The door then burst open with Blaise yelling. "We need to go. Snape sent word that they are going to be checking in at three."
I looked down at Courtney and kissed her again before picking up my clothes and running out of the room. The ball of clothes was the only thing that was covering me before Blaise just threw me into Lila. We were then in my room. Lila backed away from me with a smile on her face.
"Well, I'll see you in a bit," she said before rushing out the door.
I dressed in some night clothes before laying in my bed. I was so glad that I was able to see Courtney, to touch her, before I had to marry another woman. Blaise was right: I was so going to thank him in the morning. I just wish I didn't have to leave her like that. I looked up as my door opened to see a random stick his head in before closing the door again. I shook my head as I laid my head back down and closed my eyes. I had the best dream that I had had in a long time that night.
A/N: So, I needed to see them together again before the wedding as much as you all probably did! Sorry about the long wait. I hadn't realized that I haven't updated since March...I felt so bad when I realized! So, I worked hard and made time to post today! And I also have great news: since its summer time now, I will be posting twice a week. Mondays and Saturdays! And I will not be starting anything new until I get Promise finished! :D
I love you all!
