Chapter 5

"I want to do it properly," Harry told everyone when Marcus started talking about burying Dobby after getting Griphook, the goblin, and Ollivander, the wand maker, all fixed up and squared away in their rooms. "Not by magic. Have you got a spade?"

We watched from the porch as Harry set to work, alone, digging the grave in the place that Marcus had shown him. He dug with a fury that I could only guess had built up over the journey. I couldn't really put my finger on it, but I guess that they went through a lot. I sighed and pulled my knees into my chest from my sitting position on the floor of the porch.

"Well, I'm going to put the kids down for a nap," Alex announced as she gathered Sophie and Adeline and walked into the house.

"I'll help," Marcus said, following her.

"Did you guys find what you were looking for?" Hermione asked, lifting her head off Ron's shoulder.

Kamrynn sighed. "I think Courtney did," she paused for a moment as I looked up at her from my knees. "You never really explained what happened when you turned that time turner."

"She's right," Astoria lifted her body off the wall from leaning on it to get a better view of me. "Right after, we kind of got distracted by Michael showing up and then the whole Helena being your sister thing. So, what happened, Court?"

"Wait," Ron looked from her to me. "You have a sister?"

I nodded as I lowered my knees from my face. "Helena Burke is my sister."

Hermione's eyes widened. "We ran into her while we were in the Malfoy Manor. She said something about you, which left me plenty confused." Her hand then ran over her arm and she stopped talking.

"Are you okay, Hermione?" I asked, reaching out and rubbing her arm.

She nodded. "While we were at Malfoy Manor," she took in a deep breath.

"You don't need to talk about it," Ron quickly said. "It just happened. Perhaps you should go in for a spell?"

She shook her head. "No, it's alright, Ron," she swallowed really hard. "Helena stood and watched as Bellatrix Lestrange tortured me. She was told to join her, but Helena just stood there. Her eyes were transfixed. She looked as if she didn't agree with her torturing me. She made an excuse to leave as soon as she saw what was etched into my skin." She rolled up her sleeve and we all saw 'Mudblood' there.

"Herms," Kam ran over and pulled her into a hug.

Astoria shook her head. "Bellatrix is the most twisted person I have ever met."

Fred cleared his throat. "I'm sorry to inturrpt, but Courtney was just about to tell us the results of the mission we have been on for months."

"I'm sorry," Hermione wiped at her face. "Don't mind me. Go on, Courtney."

I swallowed hard. "Well, the time turner took me back to the year 1712, right after the-"

"Fire in Wrapping," Hermione interrupted. "Oh, I'm sorry."

I smiled weakly at her. "Don't be, but yes, right after. I saw this couple. The guy looked exactly like Draco, and the girl exactly like me. They were in a relationship exactly the one Draco and I have. I then met two guys," I looked over to Fred, "twins to be exact. They helped me solve the cycle."

"I was there," Fred smiled. "Sweet."

"Was I there?" Kam screeched.

I shook my head. "You weren't there, but sometimes you were. Anyway, they cycle started with Cecily, me, and Daniel, Draco, getting together then he would break up with me because of the great wizard going to murder anyone he is close to."

"Get to the part you have to stop! We already know this," whined Kam, who was clearly getting impatient.

"Well," I licked my lips, "Draco dies, and I end up marrying Ron because of it."

Everyone was speechless at that point. I knew it was pretty shocking news, so I gave them a few minutes. Astoria took a deep breath in with her eyes closed. Fred just took her hand in his as he whispered 'wow'. Kam looked up at me quietly with sad eyes. Hermione's mouth went from hanging open to closing very slowly. Ron rubbed his face with both of his hands. Luna, well, she just kept to herself.

"Bloody hell," Ron said to break the silence.

"Well," Astoria spoke up. "The obvious thing to do would be to stop Draco from dying."

I nodded. "That's it in a nutshell."

"I'm going to go help Harry," Ron said after a few moments of silence. "Will you be alright, Hermione?"

She nodded. "Yeah."

She and Luna went inside shortly after Ron went to help Harry, and the rest followed right after. I stayed outside just watching Harry and Ron manually dig. I just couldn't help but think about the mission. It didn't seem like it was that hard on us as it was on the Trio. They had been tortured by Bellatrix and probably other events happened that were just as worse. I might have been kidnapped by my sister, hunted down by seekers, hunted down by deatheaters, and beaten by my dad, but I couldn't help but think my mission wasn't all that hard. My life was barely in danger and look what they had to go through.

"Hey, sis," I turned and saw Marcus in the doorway. "Kam told me what you found out about your mission. I'm sorry, but I still don't see what you see in that bastard. He broke your heart last year,"

I looked up at him. "You have no idea what was going on. You lucked out and broke off from the deatheating part of our family, Marcus. He has to give up everything he loves. He has to give up himself."

"He has a choice, Courtney."

I shook my head. "No, he doesn't."

"Well, I'm not going to stand here and argue with you," he said after a beat. "Kam also told me what happed with Michael. I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, and...everything else that came with being born a Flint."

I bit my lip and looked back over at the boys digging. "Thanks, Marcus."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We should close his eyes," Luna said, pushing down Dobby's eye lids. "There, now he could be sleeping." She stood up and looked around at all of us. "I think we ought to say something. I'll go first shall, I? Thank you so much, Dobby, for rescuing me from that cellar. It's so unfair that you had to die, when you were so good and brave. I'll always remember what you did for us. I hope you're happy now."

"Yeah...thanks, Dobby," Ron added.

"I thought you were completely mental," I slightly smiled, "but you were the best house elf there ever was. Thank you for being you, Dobby."

"Good-bye, Dobby," Harry said, and I'm guessing that was all he could manage. "Do you minf if I stay here a moment?" He asked after Marcus and raised his wand and covered the grave with dirt.

We all headed back to the house. I sat in the kitchen and helped feed Adaline since she had awoken from her nap. After a few moments of what seemed like a void in the heavy that had just happened, Fred and Ron had started asking questions about what had happened to their family. I tuned them out for a little while until I saw Harry standing in the doorway.

"...lucy that Ginny's on holiday. If she'd been at Hogwarts, they would have taken her before we reached her. Now we know she's safe too," Marcus finished and looked over his shoulder and saw Harry standing there. "Bill and I have been getting them all out of the burrow. Moved to Muriel's. The Death Eaters know Ron's with you now, they're bound to target his family - don't apologize," he added because of Harry's facial experession. "It was alwas a matter of time."

"How are they protected?" Harry asked.

"Fidelous charm. Arthur's Secret-Keeper. And we've done it on this cottage too; I'm Secret-Keeper here. None of us can go to work, but that's hardly rhw most important thing right now. Once Ollivander and Griphook are well enough, we'll move them to Muriel's too. There isn't much room here, but she's got plenty. Griphook's legs are on the mend. Alex's given him Skele-Gro; we could probably move them in an hour or-"

"No," Harry interrupted. "I need both of them here. I need to talk to them. It's important."

"No," Alex said coming into the kitchen from behind him. "You will have to wait, Harry. They are both ill, tired-"

"I'm sorry," Harry continued. "but it can't wait. I need to talk to them, now. Privately and separately. It's urgent."

"Harry, what the hell is going on?" Marcus stood up from the table. "You turn up here with a dead house-elf and a half-conscious goblin, Hermione looks as if she's been tortured, and Ron's refused to tell anything-"

"We can't tell you what we're doing," said Harry. "You're in the Order, Marcus, you know Dumbledore left us a mission. We're not supposed to talk about it to anyone else."

"All right," Marcus said after a few moments. "Up here."

"Come on, then, Courtney," Harry gestured for me to follow, so I did.
