Dex was no professional, but he still managed to successfully make mallowmelt. When he brought out the small tray, Fitz's eyes seemed to gleam an even brighter blue. "Here's the mallowmelt!" Dex announced, proud of the golden confection that lay before them. Fitz carefully picked a piece up and hesitantly took a bite. "Wow, Dex this is- this is amazing!" He announced. Seeing Fitz so happy made Dex feel as if he was about to burst with sunshine. "Th- thank you." He stuttered, unsure of what this feeling was. He sat down next to Fitz, feeling a little light-headed. "You should try a piece!" Fitz said excitedly. Dex reached to the tray and grabbed a piece. He took a bite and sure enough, it was delicious. He closed his eyes and let the flavour soak into his tongue. Wow he though, closing his eyes. This really is good. Fitz watched him with a warm smile on his face. Dex finally opened his eyes and noticed Fitz staring. As soon as he realized Dex saw, he cleared his throat and stared at the mallowmelt. Dex looked at the mallowmelt as well, blushing. "Well, this mallowmelt is not going to clear itself." Announces Fitz. Dex nods in agreement, smiling again. "Well then, we'd best finish this."

Fitz and Dex both lay on the couch, full. Fitz had just hailed his parents to inform them that he'd be staying the night, meanwhile Dex was asleep on the couch beside him. Falling asleep couldn't hurt Fitz thought, seeing how comfortable Dex looked. He laid down in between Dex's back and the back of the couch and fell asleep.

Two hours later

Dex awoke and turned over to face the back of his couch. Only then did he realize that Fitz was there, asleep. He gently woke up Fitz, worried. "Fitz, do your parents know that you're staying the night?" The sky was already getting dark. "Mm?" Fitz asked groggily. "Oh, yeah, I hailed them earlier. They know." He said. Dex sighed in relief. "Come on, we'd best go to my room. I hope you don't mind sharing a bed?" Fitz shook his head. "Fine by me, thank you." They both went to Dex's room, arm in arm.
