Chapter Forty Seven

Sophie grabbed Tam and Linh's hands. They hesitantly reached for Wylie and Dex's hands. Sophie closed her eye's and focused her mind on Exile, a place she couldn't have teleported too in any other circumstance but today she could do anything. Her anger and guilt was like a much needed fuel. Dex stared nervously at Sophie as she opened her eye's. They began to run, faster than ever before all holding hands. Lightning crackled around them and they all screamed as the void cracked open, sucking them in. Sophie crumpled to the cold musty floor of exile. The group stood up, dusting themselves off. Silence. The droplets of dirty water plinked to the ground by Tams feet causing him to jump slightly and sidle over to Linh. Wylie raised his hand, a blue light orb forming in his hand. He stepped forwards carefully. Dex pulled Wylie back before he could advance anymore. "What?" Asked Wylie. Dex and Linh shared a look. "Traps, there placed everywhere and a few involve water." Wylie stared at the dark ground, innocent yet deadly. "Wait, I can feel them." Said Sophie.

She closed her eye's. Yes, she could feel a cluster of people in one area. A secret door. Sophie opened her eye's. "That way." Said Sophie, pointing towards the traps. Dex looked unsure. "Whatever's  coming, we can handle it." Said Sophie. They walked cautiously forwards. No sounds except the occasional bang on the wall or the water trickling down in small puddles. Suddenly winds sliced through the walls. Wylie and Dex ducked and Tam shoved Linh away form the wind as it smashed into the wall. The group ran, their legs burning while the wall next to them crumbled.

Growling. Sophie stopped panting and saw red eye's gleaming in the dark. Sophie spun on her heels and beckoned the group down the corner and away from the eye's. Linh put her hand in front of them. Her eye's widened as the sound of crashing waves came closed and closed. A wave, larger than they had ever seen before crashed into them. Sophie choked as salt water filled her mouth, slamming her against the wall. She opened her eye's and saw Linh in the center, pushing against the water while it sprayed heavily behind her. Linh raised her arms and the waves directed upwards, crashing and breaking the ceiling. Dust and ceiling fell and Sophie pressed herself against the wall to stay away. When the dust cleared, a girl was lying in the center of the floor, salt water and dust covering her ashen face.

They had broken the ceiling to her cell. Sophie gasped. It was Glimmer.
