Jamie woke up early the next morning. Her parents were still fast asleep in the bed across the room. Jamie checked her watch. It was three hours from the hotel's complimentary breakfast. She leaned over the side of her bed, and reached into her bag. Her fingers brushed against the cool, rough cover of her sketch book, and she grabbed it and placed it on her lap. She reached down again and picked up her pencil case. She opened the sketch book to the page of her master-piece, and continued working on it.

She was drawing an imaginary city, a glowing bright city, filled with happy people. The houses and buildings were all built out of rich materials like crystal and gold. She was yet to think of a name for it, and she still had a long way to go before it was finished. As she drew, she wondered if one day when she was older, she'd look back on this picture and remember the trip, the moving, and all the stressful times. She'd be really proud of herself for bearing through it, and being brave.

She continued working, enjoying the soothing sound that the pencil made as it scratched against the paper. Currently, she was working on the big domed building in the center of the city. It was elegant, but less sparkly than the rest of the buildings around it. This was going to be the court house, but it was going to have a different name.

As she worked, she thought about what she had heard her parents conversing about last night. Could it have been a dream? Because truthfully, she dreamed of her family winning the lottery, or getting lots of money quite frequently.

She was in the middle making the flagpole on the top of the building, when she heard a snuffling sound from her parents' bed. She jerked herself out of her own thoughts, and silently closed her sketch book. She set it in her bag and got up. She tiptoed over to her parents' bed. They looked so tired, and Jamie didn't have the heart to wake them, so she went and had a shower. By the time she was out, her mother was awake, and trying to get herself to stand up.

"Good morning Mom." Jamie said, and smiled. Her mother smiled back.

"Good morning sweetheart," her mom replied. "Would you mind waking up this sleepy head," she jerked her thumb towards Jamie's dad, "while I go get ready?"

"Sure," Jamie smiled again, "Dad. Dad, wake up. C'mon Dad!" her father groaned and rolled over.

   "Okay, okay, I'm getting up."

   "Good."

"See? I'm up. How long have you been awake?" her father asked.

   "Not long. I..."

"Time to go guys!" her mother called from the door, cutting Jamie off.

"Coming!" she called back. They had breakfast, not really talking about much, but just enjoying the feeling of being together. Afterwards, they packed up, checked out, and got back out on the road. Today, Jamie's parents wanted to talk, so she didn't get a chance to work her drawing, but she felt like that morning made up for it. They talked about all that had been happening to them lately, and they talked about moving in, because later in the evening, they would arrive at their new home.
