𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐍 𝐃𝐄𝐋 𝐑𝐈𝐎 . . . was a girl defined by her past and all that she cannot remember. For a while, this belief branded itself an identifier for her; "Imogen — The girl who lost a fragment of herself". Had she been given the chance to go back and save herself from the inevitability of her current dilemmas, she would take the risk without hesitation. However, this decision leads her to an impasse with her own intuition when the realization that what comes next in the story of her life would never have happened without the very tragedy which continues to haunt her waking dreams and slumbering subconscious.
Her early defeats had many effects in her life since then. Aside from the fact that she has become a prisoner to the consequences of lost recollections, the smothering protectiveness of paranoid parents did not help her growing disdain. She was a magnet for significant cataclysms, that was always quite proven, as though somewhere out there in the vast universe of endless branches of possibilities, every path she takes, every choice she tackles, every version of herself leads to catastrophe. Perhaps this reason, in and of itself, was the catalyst of an even tighter grip guised with vigilance.
Imogen's parents never supported her desire to pursue being a military doctor. There were always glimpses to certain memories that she has had on the most random of times, whether she be nearing sleep, eating in the kitchen, or even when watching a movie. She figured she's always loved modern war movies, the thrilling action of being a soldier, serving in the military through whichever way. A dream she had solidified her passion for it, however, when she apparently found herself in the shoes of a military doctor helping the injured and soothing their torment.
Being a military doctor would mean that she would be in constant exposure to harm, to all kinds of accidents, danger, going so far as death while on duty. Jen often assured them that there were little to no chances that she would come across such a coincidence, however it's not long after their unwavering pleas that she finds herself conflicted after a long time of being resolute with her aspiration.
Lottie and Terence had always been supportive of their child. Imogen was as brilliant and as kind as a pure-hearted soul would be, if she wasn't one already. Her kindness knew no bounds, no limitation. She was born with such a blinding essence comparable only to haloed souls, says Lottie's self-proclaimed psychic mother despite not really being there at her birth. They adored their compassionate girl for it, but upon her inexhaustible altruism, there came the moment that she has finally embodied a selfless pledge to the betterment of others. Just imagining Jen being so close to the very things that she had such a knack to be a focal point for, filled them with such apprehension.
Call their suffocating disquietude and deterrence unhealthy all you want, but they were certain about one simple thing; they couldn't lose their daughter again, not after everything they went through to get her back.
The chances of becoming involved in what lies ahead for her, what the divinities had in store for such a blameless soul, had become increasingly baleful and brimming with nightshade and poison. Upon growing up, raised in an environment that knew no pain nor sense of endangerment, the passion for providing others with this ease and connotation of solace had grown considerably as she matured into the fine and admirable young woman she was today. Cherished by many, detested by none, there was nothing else to worry about other than the plights of juvenility, high school, homework, and the stacking compilation of love letters that have compiled in the container allotted for such through the years.
But who would have thought that handing out band aids, ailing small bruises, and knowing exactly what to do for radioactive spider bites as well as subduing the pain it gave to its host would lead her, a mere sympathetic mouse, directly into the pit of the lion's den?

This story transpires pre-Civil War and may continue even after Far From Home because I am planning to extend the storyline for No Way Home, too.
I'd first like to say that my journey with Imogen has come very far and during these times, I've grown attached to the character. This girl has become some sort of vessel where, instead of me resulting to some of my once self-destructive habits, I utilize my passion in writing through this book and through her instead. Even though she was primarily a distraction, the book has become a big part of my experience here on Wattpad and I've always been very thankful that I did decide to work on this story. Imogen is a character of mine that really really means a lot to me because I've been working on her and this book ever since I started high school, which was, like, three or two years ago. I only recently decided to publish it thinking I had it under control and that it was already panned out and only needed me to update it as regularly as I could.
Spoiler Alert: It was far from ready. So, here I am, rebooting the book and editing it all. Though there wouldn't be too much change that it would be too jarring for old readers once they come back (hopefully) but enough that it wouldn't be such an eyesore anymore. I'm sorta a perfectionist so, naturally, when I came to realize that my old layout just wasn't hitting as hard as the current one I used on "Hotline Bling" then I suppose it also influenced why I wanted to improve this whole book.
(Update: I have also added quite a hefty amount of moments and some other stuff in Chapter One ever since I first published it, so, to the old readers, I'm terribly sorry but you'll have to reread the Chapter to be kept up to date with the latest happenings lol.)
So, um, back to the point!
I first had some sort of outline of an OC for a Peter Parker fanfic when I first read my first Julia Quinn novel, which was Everything and the Moon. The main character has gone through quite a hefty amount of development throughout the story and I also plan to incorporate the same thing with Imogen. This girl would have to go through quite a lot - I'll just get ahead and say I'm sorry - which will then change who she is and will be as a person. She is a very tragic girl, despite how lighthearted she may seem as first, so I would try my best to show the gradual change as effectively as I could.
She is mostly a reflection of me (because, yes, I am self-centered that way) but also a mix of Gwen Stacy & MJ Watson (Marvel), Rapunzel (Tangled), Gabriella Montez (High School Musical), Anya (Anastasia), and Victoria Lyndon (Everything and the Moon). Imogen, as well as this book and her relationship with Peter, is heavily inspired by the tags/trope/s: sunshine gf x sunshine bf, soulmates, both are very bi and is gay for everyone together, popular girl x nerd boy, healer gf x hero bf, amnesia, awkward bf x slightly less awkward gf, princess x knight, princess saves herself x knight, oblivious pining, boy falls first, idiot x "loves the idiot", ridiculously shy bf x enthusiastically sweet gf, requited unrequited, friends to lovers to friends then lovers again, finding comfort in each other, (eventually) damaged characters bonding, dumbass x "oh fuck i guess they're my dumbass", and the girl next door.
Nonetheless, that brings me to recent criticisms. I've been given quite a scolding from one of my mutuals here regarding the face claims of Imogen's parents and Imogen herself so I will be clearing it up right now. This was originally supposed to be a big reveal, but I suppose I have to clarify this ordeal for readers who might be confused; Imogen is adopted. Her adoptive mother is Filipino, and her adoptive father is African American, while she is of Mexican and French descent, like her face claim, Seychelle! So obviously she isn't trueborn.
I do very much appreciate it when you guys engage in my story and comment about things you like, dislike, or are confused about! Interacting with you all has always been my favorite thing, aside from writing, of course.
Though I do not have this entire universe planned out as of late, this book still is included in the ❛ 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 ❜ series;
// 𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘; jen del rio & peter parker
// 𝗕𝗢𝗛𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗔𝗡 𝗥𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗬; azalea celeste & zuma everleigh
// 𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗥 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗘𝗡; frankie oberon & sam wilson
// 𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗢 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗟; ivy zakharova & yelena belova
(My oc's are mostly very very gay, as Jen and Peter as well as Frankie and Sam are my only token hetero couples! Though, rest assured, none of them are straight, I'll have to give you that.)

Fair warning, though! There will quite a hefty amount of violence, gore, and detailed descriptions about death & destruction. As for the more lighthearted part of this book (which is, thankfully, consisting a majority of it), be forewarned that there will be cringe-worthy scenes, frustrating slow burn, and other mature scenes or content. A lot of swearing, too, because I was fairly certain that my bbys in the MCU (like Pete, MJ, and Ned) would be swearing a whole lot with how much shit that's happening in their lives. But because Disney is pretentious, they don't allow it. Now, due to this being a fanfic and all, they are allowed to! So expect quite a lot! Also, CANON DIVERGENCE!!!!!!!! Because I am sucker for changing the original stories and replacing it with, in my opinion, is a better way to story-tell. ;D
