They Were Looking For Sirius Black

"Can we sit with you on the train? Or are you going to sit in the Slytherin Compartment?" George asked as you rushed through the barrier. You shook your head, slowly. Not wanting to be rude.
"No. I'm not sitting in the Slytherin Compartment but you can't sit with me. I'm sorry," you commented. The twins looked at you confused. You sighed, exasperated. They continued to follow you towards the back of the engine, making you roll your eyes in annoyance. "I'm meeting Ced. We just want some alone time," you added.
"Ah, choosing Pretty-Boy-Diggory over us are you? It's okay. We get it. We didn't want to sit with you anyway. You and your annoyingly perfect boyfriend. That's okay. You go on. You go make out with him and whatever else you do. That's fine. We'll see you later," Fred pouted, a look of pretend hurt crossing his features. You rolled your eyes again and continued towards the back of the train.
You reached an empty compartment at the back of the train and threw your trunk into the overhead bin. You couldn't believe you were about to start your 6th year at Hogwarts. You sank into one of the seat, closing your eyes, lost in a deep thought.
The compartment door creaked open and your (E/C) eyes sprang open immediately. A tall boy with taffy colored curls stood in front of you, holding a bouquet of white roses. He smiled as he shut the door and pulled down the shades. You got to your feet, taking the flowers and setting the aside. He grinned as you pulled him to you with a great amount of force.
In one gentle sweeping motion he held you in his arms, carefully sitting on one of the benches, placing you on top of him. You straddled his lap. He looked peered into your eyes, daring you to make the first move. You smiled and kissed him gently. The kiss only lasted for a fleeting second before he pulled back, wrapping his arms around you.
"How are you? Did the rest of your Holiday go smoothly?" You nodded, making him sigh. The relief was present on his handsome features.
"It would've been better if you were there with me. I missed you like crazy. After you left it only made me miss you more. And...well..." His eyebrows sank together in deep concern and worry.
"What? What happened? Did someone hurt you?" You quickly shook your head, trying to ease your boyfriend's protective instinct.
"No. Of course not. It's just that nowhere feels safe anymore. Haven't you heard? Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban!" Cedric nodded slowly, holding you a bit closer. Your brave protector.
"Yeah. I heard about that. The minute my father told me, you were the first thing I thought about. But you were of course in Egypt with the with the Weasley's. I figured you'd be safe. I'm so glad your okay. But we don't have to worry. Hogwarts is the safest place there is." You nodded in agreement. Dumbledore would make sure nothing happened to you.
"I was worried about you too. I wanted to rush home the minute I heard the news. I wanted to be sure you were okay." Cedric smiled at you, lovingly.
"Don't worry about me, baby. I'm right here. And I'm not going anywhere. Not as long as I have you. There's nowhere else I'd rather be than with you." You blushed, kissing his cheek. He studied your face for a few fleeting moments. "I was meaning to ask you, what's wrong with Fred and George?"
"They asked if they could sit with us but I declined. I told them we wanted to be alone." Cedric laughed, confusing you.
"Oh, I was wondering why Fred was so bitter. I saw him earlier. They were sitting in a compartment alone and I went in to ask them if they'd seen you. Fred sort of yelled at me. He told me to get lost and go make-out with you like he knew I was planning to." You threw your head back in a fit of laughter. Cedric smirked a blush present on his features.
"You want to make-out now don't you?" You asked, eyeing his expression suspiciously. He averted his eyes making you laugh again, mischievously.
"I wouldn't mind it," he added shyly. Another blush burned on the apples of his cheeks making you snicker.
"You know I'm your girlfriend right? We've been dating for over a year and a half. It's not like I'm a complete stranger. You don't have to be afraid to ask to kiss me. Or to even ask at all. Cedric, we aren't on our first date. Just do it." Another mischievous grin made it's way onto his face.
He pushed you against the wall of the compartment roughly, knocking the air out of your lungs. You smiled at him. Despite the unsure look in his eyes he slammed his lips onto yours roughly. You nipped at his lip causing him to kiss you harder. He groaned moving his lips to your neck. You ignored the ghostly pain of your father's blades puncturing your neck and let him kiss you. His lips touched delicate skin making you shiver. He sucked a spot, that you could easily hide from sight, as one arm wrapped around your waist and the other supported his weight on the wall behind you. You sighed as he moved his lips back up to your own. You wound your arm around his neck and plunged your fingers into his soft curls. He dragged his tongue along your bottom lip as if asking for permission. You were just about to open your mouth and allow him in, when a sweeping sense of cold hit you hard. You gasped from the sudden chill.
You pushed him back, gasping for air, but shivering from the cold. He looked around confused as he shrugged off his robes and placed them around your shoulders. You pushed away from the wall and settled back onto his lap. He hugged you to him, rubbing your shoulders to keep you warm. You breathed out a sigh and your breath came out in a cloud of icy air. The lights in the compartment flickered and you were suddenly plunged into a thick darkness.
"Cedric?" You whispered, fearfully. The train lurched to a stop, making your grip onto him tighter. His arms curled around you, tighter than ever.
"It's okay, baby. I'm here. I'm right here." He whispered back, right above you ear. You shook with fear as the windows of the compartment froze. You felt as if the happiness and emotion was being drained from deep within you. You whimpered making Cedric jump. His hands stayed trained on you, but you could feel him shaking.
Suddenly the door to the compartment opened and you were met by the most terrifying sight you'd ever seen. You held in the urge to scream as the creature inched forward. You felt Cedric shift, balancing you on his lap. The creature was a large, black, cloaked monster. From beneath it's hood a bony hand, that looked as if it was made of rotting flesh, made it's way closer to your face. Your body went rigid with fear as it began to suck all the happiness from your body. You felt light headed until Cedric pushed you onto the bench beside him. He turned to face you, wrapping his arms around you, his back to the creature. He was acting as a shield.
And just as quickly as the creature had come, it disappeared back into the hall way. The lights fluttered back on and you were left in pure shock. Cedric cupped your face in his hands, kneeling on the ground to examine you. You shook with fear, making him worry. He pressed his lips to yours and you felt all the warmth rush back into your body. He smiled as the color returned to your cheeks.
"What the hell was that?" Cedric asked, concern lacing his voice. He picked you up again and cradled you in his strong arms. His robe was still wound tightly around your shoulders as he began rubbing your arms, trying to keep you warm.
You sighed and shook your head. You knew exactly what they were but that didn't make them any less frightening. "Those were dementors. They're the creatures that guard Azkaban Prison. They are known for draining all happiness and emotion from the environment they inhabit. And now they're at Hogwarts. They were looking for Sirius Black."
