Harry's P.O.V

"Harry! Hermione! Come here! I have something to tell you!" Ron shouted as he burst into the Common Room. Hermione looked set down her book and walked towards the portrait hole as I followed suit.
"What? Are you okay? Did something happen to you?" Hermione asked urgently as we made our way towards the library. Ron shook his head.
"No, nothing like that! So I was in the Hospital Wing, right? For detention. You know how Snape made me clean all the bedpans?"
"Yes! We know! You only mentioned how much you were dreading it about a million times, yesterday," Hermione replied, impatiently.
"Yeah well, you'll never believe who I saw in there! Matthew Middlebrook!" Ron exclaimed. Hermione and I exchanged confused glances.
"Isn't that Malfoy's best friend? What was that git doing? Faking an injury like his buddy? I swear if I have to help another..." Ron cut me off by shaking his head.
"No! It's really serious! He was screaming and crying! I've never seen a Slytherin so upset! Madam Pomfrey had to sedate him! Then Snape came in! And he had to hold Matt down while they force fed the poor sap!" Ron announced. Hermione gasped.
"Oh no! What happened to him? Is he alright? I hope that they're able to help him!" I turned towards Hermione, shocked.
"What? You hate Matt and Draco! Since when do you care about their health issues!" Hermione shook her head, disapprovingly.
"I do, but they're still people. I have to admit that while Matthew is no better than Malfoy I don't think he's terrible. Regardless of what they've said and done I wouldn't wish them sickness or pain," she stated simply. Ron cleared his throat.
"As I was saying, the poor sap seemed pretty bad off, but I had to finish my detention, especially since Snape was there. But get this! When I was on my way out, I saw those 2 Slytherins. You know, the one's on the Quidditch team? The one's (Y/N) is always with? What are their names?"
I racked my brain, trying to think of their names. I knew who he was talking about. They stuck to (Y/N) like glue. "Oh! Terence Higgs and Adrian Pucey?"
"Yeah! I know who you're talking about! They're both Chasers on the Slytherin team! They're always with (Y/N)! Well at least one of them is! It's weird that she wasn't there. Actually now that I think about it, I haven't seen her in a few months," Hermione stated, thoughtfully.
She was right. I hadn't seen (Y/N) much or at all. I never saw the team practicing anymore, given that she was team captain. But that was odd. No one loved Quidditch more than Oliver Wood or (Y/N) Middlebrook.
"If you'd stop interrupting me, then maybe this would all start making sense!" Ron huffed as Hermione and I turned our attention back to him.
"As I was saying, again! When I passed Higgs and Pucey, I heard them mention (Y/N). And like you said, I thought it was odd that she wasn't with them, so I ducked behind a pillar to listen to what they were saying! Pucey sounded like he was going to cry and Higgs sounded like he was going to hit something. Anyway, (Y/N)'s been kidnapped!" Ron shouted abruptly.
Hermione gasped as my mouth fell open in shock. (Y/N) was kidnapped? That couldn't be right! She had to be around here somewhere.
"What? By who? Oh, that poor girl! No wonder Matthew is so upset! His sister has been kidnapped! When did this happen?" Hermione exclaimed.
"Pucey said and I quote: It's been 3 frickin' months and they still haven't found her! " Ron replied, gravely. I shook my head in disbelief. There was no way.
"That can't be right! Hogwarts is the safest place there is! How was she kidnapped inside the school!" I shouted. Hermione shook her head, solemnly. I clenched my fists. I didn't know why this made me so angry but she couldn't have been kidnapped.
I started running down the corridor, Hermione and Ron following, confused. I needed facts and I needed them now. I pushed open the door to Professor McGonagall's classroom. Professor McGonagall looked up as we walked in and smiled.
"What can I do for you three?" She asked, sternly. Hermione and Ron exchanged nervous glances, but I blurted it out before I could stop myself.
"What happened to (Y/N) Middlebrook? Was she really kidnapped?" McGonagall's smile disappeared as she collapsed back into a chair.
"I don't know if I'm the person to give those details away," she replied solemnly. Hermione gasped again.
"Please Professor, (Y/N) is our friend too! We heard Adrian Pucey and Terence Higgs speaking about it! They said she's been missing for 3 months! Is that true?" Hermione asked.
Professor McGonagall inhaled sharply. I could see the pain in her eyes as she debated weather or not to tell us. I held my breath. "If I tell you what's happened to her, you mustn't tell a single soul. Professor Dumbledore doesn't want this knew floating about. This is a very serious matter! Am I understood?" She asked, her face turning hard.
"Yes Ma'am!" We replied in unison. What could've happened to (Y/N) that Professor Dumbledore had to get involved.
"Yes, she has been kidnapped. It's been a little over 3 months and we've been unsuccessful in finding her. When did you hear Mr. Higgs and Mr. Pucey speaking about this?"
"Earlier today, it was this morning before class began. It was before breakfast," Ron replied, nervously. Professor McGonagall nodded, solemnly.
"I see. I was with both of them all day, as well as your brothers Mr. Weasley. But I didn't see any of them until after breakfast. You mustn't tell them you know. They are all having an extremely hard time with her disappearance," Professor McGonagall said sharply. We nodded.
"What happened to her exactly? Who kidnapped her?" Hermione spoke up, her voice shaking. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Professor McGonagall inhaled sharply as she choked back a few tears.
"She was taken by Sirius Black!" Hermione screamed just the doors to McGonagall's classroom flew open. Professor Dumbledore rushed in followed by 5 boys I recognized instantly. Terence Higgs. George Weasley. Adrian Pucey. Fred Weasley. And Cedric Diggory. What was the Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain doing with them?
"Minerva! We think we've found her!" Dumbledore exclaimed.
