Potter, Just The Person I Wanted To See!

"And then Potter rode the stupid thing! Wait until my father hears about this! It's sure to get that oaf of a teacher Hagrid sacked!" Draco spat out angrily. You rolled your eyes impatiently as he recounted his Care of Magical Creatures experience for the umpteenth time in 2 days. You sighed, irritably.
"That's great! But you're waisting my time! I have to find a new Seeker because apparently you're unable to do that! You just had to go and insult the stupid Hippogriff didn't you? Couldn't you have waited until after Quidditch Season?" You growled.
Draco looked at you stunned as you flounced back towards the school. You needed to find Potter and his annoying little friends. You hated how much Draco torched them. You had overheard him talking to Matt about all the terrible schemes he had planned for Ronald and Harry. You were a Slytherin. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that you weren't. But what you weren't, was heartless. And if Draco wouldn't apologize, you would.
You walked into the entrance hall just as Potter and his friends began making their way up the stairs, towards Gryffindor Tower. You hurried towards the stairs in an effort to catch up with them. "Hey! Wait Up!" He turned around and his face fell slack. You smirked as you got closer, finally getting a chance to see the Boy Who Lived up close. "Potter, Just the person I wanted to see," you stated nonchalantly.
               "I...What...Why would...Wait...I know you! You're (Y/N) Middlebrook! You're the Slytherin Quidditch Captain!"
"I see my reputation proceeds me! But that's not why I wanted to speak to you," you replied as a look of confusion crossed his features. Behind him the bushy haired, Hermione Granger exchanged an unsure glance with Ronald. "Relax. I'm not going to bash your head into a wall or harm you in any way. I just want to talk."
Harry glanced back at his friends as if to ask permission. Ronald bit his lip, contemplating what to do. "I'd say hear her out, Harry. She's friends with Fred and George and she stayed with my family over the Summer Holiday. I think she's alright," Ron whispered. You rolled you eyes, pretending you didn't hear any of their conversation.
"Yeah alright. We can talk. But I have a Quidditch game soon against the Hufflepuffs, so could we try and make this a quick conversation?" You nodded and began leading the trio towards an empty classroom. Regardless of your intentions to apologize you couldn't be seen with them. Especially not by Terence, who seemed to be especially grumpy these days.
They sat down across from you in the deserted classroom, staring at you blankly. You bit your lip, deciding how to word what you wanted to say. It was better to ease your way into this kind of conversation, especially since you barely knew any of them. "Do you have Care of Magical Creatures with the Slytherins?"
"Yes. We do. I suppose you've heard about what happened to Malfoy. And I suppose you think that it's Hagrid's fault too, like the rest of the Slytherins, don't you?" Hermione asked you darkly. You sent a scowl her way, noticing her breath hitch as you did.
"I didn't ask for your input now did I? But to answer your question, no, I don't think that any of the situation was Hagrid's fault," You stated simply. All 3 of their mouths fell open in shock, making you sigh.
"You don't? But surely you'd take Malfoy's side in this. You're a Slytherin! Fred and George said that they called you the Slytherin Queen!" Ronald blurted out. You shook your head, annoyed. Why did people insist on calling you that.
"They do and I hate it. So, I would suggest not calling me that. And regardless to your beliefs, not all Slytherins are heartless gits. I happen to think that Hagrid is a very kind person and I would hate to see him get sacked because of some stupid mistake Malfoy made," you replied earnestly. Harry nodded slowly. He believed you.
"Okay, I'm glad you don't think it's Hagrid's fault. But, not to be rude, why are we having this conversation?" Harry asked.
"Because, I know Malfoy can be a foul little git and I know he's faking that stupid injury of his. You see, this is not only bad for you, but bad for me because I'm without a Seeker. I would recommend talking to Fred and George, I wouldn't mind seeing a prank pulled on that git. You'd be doing me a huge favor if you did. But the main reason I'm here is because I wanted to apologize. I know Malfoy won't and you'll probably never hear this from another Slytherin. But I'm sorry for the way you've been treated. Most of my house is still prejudice against the other houses and for that I'm sorry too. There's nothing I can really do to change any of their beliefs or the way you're treated by them but just know, if you ever need any help, you've always got a friend on the other side of the battle line."
Shock. Their expressions were those of pure shock. The Queen of Slytherin was befriending Gryffindors. Harry stood up and wrapped his arms around you. You immediately tensed, but awkwardly hugged him back. Cedric would love that.
"Thank you, (Y/N). Really. We're very lucky to have a friend like you. You've got a lot of influence and we know you're entire reputation is riding on this. Don't worry. We won't tell anyone. But it means a lot that you apologized for something you never took part in. And I want you to know that I have a very deep respect for you. I always have. Even Oliver does. He talks about you constantly. Most of the time it's how badly we need to crush you at your own game but you can tell he respects you. Thanks again. But we really have to get going. Will you be at the Quidditch game?" Harry asked.
"Yeah. I will. Thanks for hearing me out. I'll see you around," You replied, as you walked out of the classroom. You ducked behind a wall and waited until you heard their footsteps retreating. When you were sure they were gone, you turned around and ran towards the astronomy tower. Cedric always spent his time before any game up there. You had remembered him telling you that in your 3rd year. And today it was your turn to be supportive of him as he always was for you.
