done deal UA, here I come!
A/N: I don't know why but I got tired to write the conversations like I used to do it till now..... so there might be a shift from here on out. This is a bit faster to do on phone this way 😅 and I am a bit lazy....😋
The smell of pancakes woke me up before the sun had even fully risen. Sweet, buttery, and just slightly burnt—a scent that always pulled me out of my dreams faster than any alarm clock. I groggily sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, as my mom called from the kitchen.
"Izuku! Breakfast is ready!"
I groaned, stretching before trudging out of my room. "Coming!"
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from today. It was just another day of waiting—for news, for answers, for something to change. My heart still felt heavy from the stress of the entrance exam. Yeah, I'd done my best, but was it enough?
As I stepped into the kitchen, the table was already set with a stack of pancakes dripping with syrup. My mom stood by the counter, looking unusually...excited?
"Morning, Mom," I said, yawning.
She turned to me, a grin plastered on her face. "Good morning, sweetie! I, uh, have something for you."
That's when I noticed it—an envelope on the table. Not just any envelope. The envelope.
The U.A. logo stared up at me like it knew the power it held over my fragile heart.
"Mom..." My voice cracked as I reached for it.
Her smile softened. "It came this morning. I thought you'd want to open it right away."
My hands trembled as I picked up the envelope.
This was it. The moment of truth.
I glanced at my mom, who was practically bouncing on her heels. "You've got this," she said, her voice full of encouragement.
Taking a deep breath, I carefully tore open the seal and pulled out the letter inside.
The first word my eyes landed on was congratulations.
"Wait..." I blinked, rereading it just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.
Dear Midoriya Izuku,
Congratulations! You have been accepted into U.A. High School's Hero Course as a first-year student.
My heart stopped.
"I got in," I whispered.
My mom let out a little squeal of excitement, rushing forward to pull me into a tight hug. "I knew it! I knew you could do it, Izuku!"
Her voice cracked with emotion, and I could feel tears pricking at the corners of my own eyes.
"I...I actually did it," I said, still in disbelief.
"You worked so hard for this," she said, pulling back to look at me with pride shining in her eyes. "I'm so proud of you."
As I sat down to eat, still holding the letter like it was some sacred artifact, my phone buzzed on the table. I picked it up to see Kaito's name flashing on the screen.
"Hey," I answered, still grinning like an idiot.
"IZUKU!" Kaito's voice nearly blew out my eardrum. "I GOT IN!"
"Wait, really?"
"Yes! Class 1-B, baby! What about you?"
I couldn't stop myself from laughing. "I made it too. Class 1-A."
"WHAT?! Dude, that's amazing!"
His excitement was contagious, and before I knew it, we were both laughing like maniacs.
"I can't believe it," Kaito said. "We're actually going to U.A.! Like, for real. This is insane!"
"Yeah," I said, my voice softening. "It really is."
After breakfast, I sat in my room, staring at the acceptance letter laid out on my desk.
Class 1-A.
It felt surreal.
This was everything I'd ever dreamed of, everything I'd worked so hard for. But now that it was real, I couldn't shake the nerves creeping in.
What if I'm not good enough?
What if I can't keep up?
What if they find out about my quirk?
I shook my head, trying to push those thoughts away.
No. I couldn't let fear ruin this for me. I'd made it this far, and I wasn't about to give up now.
Later in the afternoon, Kaito came over, practically vibrating with excitement.
"I still can't believe it," he said for the hundredth time, flopping onto my couch. "We're going to U.A.! Like, the U.A.! This is insane."
"Yeah," I said, smiling. "It is."
"Man, you're gonna be in Class 1-A," he said, shaking his head. "That's where all the crazy strong kids go. You're gonna have to work your butt off."
"Thanks for the reminder," I said dryly.
He laughed, throwing a pillow at me. "Come on, you know I'm right."
