No one's POV

The girls gasped. Rainbow stood up and looked at the floor ashamed.

"Rainbow", Rarity said. She circled the other teen, looking at Rainbow's clothes. "Darling. Are ALL your clothes like this??".

Rainbow nodded sadly. "Yeah. My dad only get me clothes from the garage sales and trash cans he sees outside. Not sure why. He says I don't deserve nice things".

Rainbow crossed her arms and looked away. Applejack got up. She took Rainbow by the shoulders and pulled her in for a hug. Rainbow felt her back stinging from the pain. She hid the pain.

Applejack pulled away and looked down at Rainbow's clothes. The blonde looked up at Rainbow. Rainbow turned her back.

"You probably regret ever running after me today and coming here, right??".

"We don't. We want to help you", Twilight said.

Suddenly she gasped.

"Is that blood on your back??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow turned around, eyes wide.

"No".

Applejack gave her a look. "Do we have ta go through the whole holdin' ya down thing again??", she asked.

Rainbow sighed and shook her head.
She sat down on the bench and turned around. She felt her shirt come up. The girls gasped. Twilight made an aid kit appear.

(Told ya she uses magic)

"Sit in front of Rainbow", she told Applejack.

Applejack got up and switched places. The blonde looked at Rainbow, who had a blank look on her face.

"Rainbow, take your shirt off".

Rainbow silently did as told. She slipped the ruined shirt off. She covered her stomach while Twilight worked.

"This might sting", Twilight said.

She took some rubbing alcohol and pour a little onto a towel. Twilight gently rubbed the towel over the lashes.

Rainbow hissed amd flinched away. Applejack grabbed her hand.

"Squeeze my hand".

Rainbow took it and squeezed it. After a few minutes Twilight finished. She took out some gauze. Rainbow took it from her.

"I've got it", she said.

Rainbow wrapped herself up with the gauze.

"How did you get these??", Twilight asked.

Rainbow sighed. "My dad did it".

The girls gasped and stared at her wide eyes. Rainbow looked down at her hands.

"He beat me with a wooden rod. That's my punishment for being late".

Rainbow looked up to see Applejack looking right at her.

"Does he hurt chu??", Applejack asked darkly calm.

Rainbow nodded. "He...... he beats me all the time. Has been for years".

The girls were quiet. They stared at Rainbow Dash for a few seconds.

Rainbow sighed and looked down at her hands. "I understand if you dont want anything to do with me now. I don't blame you".

"We would never think that", Applejack asked.

Rainbow looked at her confused

"Because I'm me. I don't get it".

She crossed her arms. She didn't understand what was so great about herself.

"I'm ugly, I don't have any decent clothes, I'm basically poor. I'm a stupid unlovable thing".

"Please tell me ya don't mean it".

Rainbow looked away and shrugged.

"Well it's true".

Rainbow sniffled. Applejack suddenly gasped quietly. She reached out and took one of Rainbow's arms and lifted it, her wrist facing up.

"Rainbow....... what are these??", she asked. She knew what they were but she want to say it.

"Cuts", Rainbow replied quietly. She looked down at her arms and saw some fresh cuts from a day ago. Rainbow got up and turned away.

"You want nothing to do with me now right??".

The girls got up.

"No", Twilight said. "We're not leaving you Rainbow Dash. Especially when you need us most".

Rainbow looked at them.

"Really??".

Applejack walked up to her. She looked at Rainbow's wrist again. The blonde felt her heart break just looking at the scars on the girl's wrists.

Rainbow looked at her. "You're not disgusted with me??".

Applejack shook her head. "The only thing Ah'm disgusted with is the fact that your father would dare hurt someone as kind and amazing and beautiful as you scars and all".

Rainbow Dash smiled a little. Applejack was the greatest friend in the world.

"And that's all she thinks of me. A best friend", she thought sadly.

"Rainbow", Applejack said.

Rainbow looked up at her. The blonde stared into her eyes for a moment.

"Ah can't believe you would think that we wouldn't want ta be your friends anymore when you told us. Why do ya keep pushing us away??".

Rainbow felt tears rise up. She looked at her hands.

"Everyone leaves me at some point. It's just easier for me to push you away than for you to leave on your own. It'll be less painful and won't hurt if I push you away myself".

The girls frowned and looked at her.

"Well", Applejack said. "We won't leave ya. You're our best friend and we'll stay with ya through this. Promise".

Suddenly Rainbow's phone rang. She looked at the screen. Dad. Looking at her friends she said, "Guys. Shhh. I'll put it on speaker so you guys can listen".

She sniffled and answered, putting it on speaker.

"Yes??"

"What the hell took you so long??", her father snapped. Rainbow visibly flinched at his harsh tone.

"Sorry sir", she said. "What do you need??".

"Listen girl. I'm gunna be gone the weekend. I'm leaving today and I'll be back on Sunday afternoon. I want the house spotless, the clothes hand washed and clean and then dinner cooked for me when I get home. Your chores better be finished. I'm leaving a list for your chores to do on the kitchen table. Follow it. If it's not done by the time I get back, you know what I'll do".

Rainbow nodded. "Yes sir. I-I understand".

"DON'T STUTTER!!".

Rainbow jumped. She looked around at her friends.

"Sorry sir".

"Get it done".

The phone hung up. Rainbow sighed, her heart going a mile a minute from being yelled at. Rainbow put her phone down and looked up at her friends.

"So. Who wants to see my house??", she asked.

"What about your ice skating??", Pinkie asked. "I really wanna see you skate or dance or whatever you call it".

Rainbow smiled. "Oh yeah. I need to go change. I think you guys asked really gunna like this song. I skate to this one because ice skating to it is really relaxing and the song means so much to me. It's calm and slow but kinda...... powerful. My mom and I used to skate to it as practice".

Rainbow stood up.

"Be back in a few".

She walked away. Rainbow sighed as she left the room. She clutched the necklace around her neck for comfort.

This wasn't the song her and her mom loved to do together. But Rainbow just couldn't do that song, not yet. That song brought back the memory of her mother's death. So the song Rainbow is going to do will just have to do for now. She couldn't wait to get onto the ice.
