Rainbow's POV :

I saw the building.

"DASHIE!!", I heard Pinkie yelled. "STOP RUNNING AND TALK TO US!!".

I ran even faster down the street. My lungs burn but I didn't care. When I finally came into the entrance, I stopped and bent over. My lungs filled with air as I relaxed for a moment. I was still crying. I can't believe it.

Suddenly I felt a hand on my back. I look up to see Applejack leaning next to me. She was catching her breath as well.

"What are we doin' at uh skatin' rink??".

I stood up and walk in, not even waiting for my friends. Cool air hit me as I walk through the place. I felt at home more than I ever did at my actual home. Looking around I sniffle.
"Rainbow".

I turn. A man stood there, a look of concern on his face.

"Steven", I sobbed running over to his. I hugged him tightly and cry into his shoulder. He was the only person I ever cried in front of willingly.

"I know RD. I know. Shhhh".

I felt him run his hand over my hair softly. I cried and hugged him.

"I miss her so much", I cried.

"I know Rainbow. Me too".

After a while I was all cried out. I pulled away, my tears dried up. I look up at Strike.

He smiled at me. "You know. It's that day of the year, you perform for her".

I sniffle and nod. "I-I know".

Steven kneeled down. I sniffle again and look at him.

"You remember the promise she made you before she died. She promised you that she would always be watching you skate every year today. So she'll be watching you this year just like every other year. You make her proud".

I smile. He always knew what to say.

"You haven't been here in a few week", he frowned. "You're normally here once a week".

I shrug and look away. "I've been busy lately", I lied.

"Uh. Rainbow Dash??", I hear behind me.

Turning around I saw my friends. They had a confused look on their faces. They walked up to me.

"What happened back there??", Twilight asked.

I sniffle. I had to tell hem.

"Eden Dash.......is my mom".

The girls gasped, eyes widening. I smile sadly amd nod.

"We're so sorry Rainbow", Twilight said placing a hand on my shoulder.

"It's okay", I said.

"So why are we here??", Fluttershy asked Twilight.

"M-My mom was one of the best and most famous ice skaters in history", I said. "She was known world wide. Every year on this day I come here to do a performance for her. You see. When i was about 5, I did a few live performances with her on the rink in competitions. We were the best".

I smiled at the memory. "Well. One day, we were in the middle of a performance. I-"

I felt a new set of tears coming. I felt a hand take mine. It was hard to talk about that day.

"I remember my mom pulling down onto the ice and she shielded me with her body. Then I heard a gunshot".

A tear ran down my cheek.

"She took a gunshot for me. She died in the hospital from infection a few days later".

"Oh Rainbow. We're so sorry", Applejack said to me.

I look at her.

"She was a good person", I heard Steven say.

I turn and look at him. He had a smile on his face as he talked about my mom.

"She was kind and forgiving. Eden was very humble and caring for others. She gave a portion of her fortune away to the ones in need. She was one of kindest people you would find around in this world. She was amazing and my best friend. But over everything else".

He looked at me.

"She never stopped saying how much she loved her little Rainbow".

I felt my breath hitch.

"Your mother would always talk about you to me. How you were. She told me when you started to walk and talk. On your first day of school me and your father had to hold her back from running over to you when we saw you all by yourself. I remember her crying on your father's shoulder. She was afraid that you wouldn't make friends and something would happen to you in school".

I laugh. My mom was always caring about me. She was protective but I never minded it. We never argued or fought. She was amazing. Gentle, kind, beautiful.

Steven smiled at me.

"You know. I can see her spirit in you. You two are so alike".

I smile.

"Oh. I forgot to introduce you".

I look at Steven. "These are my friends. I've told you about them. Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Applejack".

Steven gives me a secret look when I said Applejack's name. I blushed a little but it went away almost immediately. Thank Celestia.

"Guys, this is Strven. He owns the best place in the world. This place!!".

"Hi!!", Pinkie said waving.

"Hello", Rarity said.

"Hi", Steven replied with a smile. "So. How about I get your skates. You go clean up your tears in the bathroom".

I smile and nod. Me and the girls go to the bathroom. It smelled good. It was the air freshener. Smelled like cookies. Chocolate chip. Rarity helped me fix myself up. I smiled at them.

"Sorry".

"Fir what??", Applejack asked.

"For everything. For not telling you guys sooner. For running away. For crying".

"Don't apologize Rainbow Dash", Rarity said smiling.

"There. All better".

I look in the mirror. I was all cleaned up. My red teary eyes were cleared up again.

"You never told you skated".

I smile at Fluttershy. It felt and sighed sadly.

"There's alot you guys didn't and still don't know know about me", I say quietly.

"What do you mean??", Applejack asked.

I sigh. "When I have to, I'll tell you".

I walk out of the bathrrom. They follow me. I felt bad. I knew I had to tell them soon. They're going to find out anyway.

We walk around the building to a door. I open it and we go inside. There was another ice rink. My own personal rink. It use to belong to my mom.

I look around and spot Steven over my a bench. Walking over to him I saw a box in his hands. He held it out to me. Taking it, I open in. I gasp and smile.

"Woah".

It was a pair was white skates with a rainbow lightening bolt coming out of a cloud. Our family symbol.

"Wicked. Thanks!!".

I give him a hug. I heard him chuckle and he hugged back.

"If you think that's cool. Just look at the rink".

I pull away and look at him. He just smiled. I turn around. My mouth fell open. Woah.

"Wooooah".

"It's..........beautiful. That is the only time you will here me use that word".

The girls laughed. I look back at the rink. The ice was clean and smooth. There in the center was the same symbol from my skates. I look back at Steven smiling.

"How??".

He smiled. "I know a guy".

I couldn't help but hug him again. This was the best gift in the world.

"Thank you", I said quietly.

"Anything for favorite girl", he said.

"I'm your favorite??", I asked. He nodded.

"Like a daughter to me".

I smile and sit down.

"I'll be back in a bit. Gotta do stuff. You guys chill out here", Steven said standing up.

Applejack sat next to me. Steven walked away. I looked down at my skates smiling. Wow. I couldn't get over how cool the skates were.

I put the box down on the floor and smile. I look at Applejack. She smiled back.

"You okay??", she asked giggling.

I nod. "Yeah".

I sighed. "Better get ready to skate".

I unzip my jacket but freeze. I look at my friends. I zip it back up.

"Rainbow".

I look at Applejack. She had a serious look on her face.

"Stop it".

I gave her a confused look.

"Stop what exactly".

Applejack sighed. "Stop hidin' things. Please. You've been doin that fir Celestia knows how long and Ah'm tired of it. You can tell us. We're best friends aren't we??".

I nod. "Yeah.

"Then stop hidin'. Ah know there's some other kind of pain in your eyes. Ah can see it. Ah've tried ta ignore it, but now ah can't. Tell us or force ya to".

I lool at my lap.

"I..... I can't. I just......".

I was trying to hard to give in. I want to tell them. I really did. I knew I should but I was afraid.

"Why??".

"I just can't".

I stand up and take a steps away, crossing my arms.

"Just tell us. We can help you-".

I turn around. "I CAN'T LOSE YOU!!", I yelled.

The girls were silent. I walk up to Applejack.

THERE. I CAN'T TELL YOU BECAUSE. BECAUSE ONCE YOU FIGHT OUT YOU'LL LAUGH AND THEN NOT WANT TO BE AROUND ME. YOU'LL LEAVE ME AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE YOU TOO!!".

I fell to my knees sobbing all over again. I've cried alot the past few days.

"I've already lost my mom. I can't lose the only people that keep me alive. I can't".

I sob into my hands and shake my head. I felt hand on my shoulders. I look up to see Applejack, kneeling in front of me.

"Listen ta me", she said. "You're our best friend. We love ya. You can show us whatever it is you're hidin. We won't judge ya".

I stared at her for what seemed like forever. She stared right back at me. It was like something came over me and took control.

Slowly I unzipped my jacket and take it off. Setting it down beside me I wait for their reactions.
