-The next day-

Applejack had gotten up. She moaned out sleepily, covering her eyes with her hands. The blonde rubbed her eyes. She saw Rainbow Dash laying in her arms.

Applejack smiled, watching the sleeping girl. She looked so beautiful. Well, she looked beautiful any other time as well. But now, Rainbow was completely relaxed and peaceful for once. Applejack couldn't remember a time she saw Rainbow Dash relaxed. She was always rigid and on alert and jumpy although she tried to hide it from the girls.

Applejack wanted to reach out and touch her cheek and hold her in her arms. But she couldn't. Last night was just a best friend gesture. But what if Rainbow did like her than more than just a friend??. Could it be??.

Applejack sighed quietly. She couldn't know for sure and that sucked. For now, she'll be the best friend Rainbow so desperately needs. Hopefully she'd get answers at some point.

But there was no way Rainbow liked her like that. Yes, she liked girls. But last night didn't mean anything.

Applejack thought to herself.

Did she like Rainbow more than just a friend??. Of coarse. Who wouldn't like her??. She was beautiful, athletic, an amazing friend, sweet, funny, smart. The girl was perfect. Applejack looked at the way Rainbow was basically glowed in the morning light of the room. She looked like sleeping beauty.

Suddenly Rainbow shifted. The teen groaned, bringing a hand up to her face. Rainbow rubbed her eyes.

She opened them, immediately seeing Applejack. She jumped.

"Oh hi", she said.

Applejack waved and smiled at her.

"Good mornin sleepin beauty", she said.

Rainbow smiled. "Heyy. It's you".

Suddenly Rainbow Dash realized just how close they were to eachother. Her eyes widened. She stared at Applejack for a second, her face in obvious confusion.

"Um, Applejack??".

"Yeah??".

"Why are we........", Rainbow asked trailing off.

Applejack realized as well. The two sat up, immediately untangling.

"We kinda fell asleep like that", Applejack explained. "Remember??. You were sleepin on the floor an ah told you ta sleep next ta me".

Rainbow thought for a moment, then a look of realization crossed her face.

"Ohhh yeah. I remember now".

Rainbow blushed, looking at the floor.

"Sorry about that".

Applejack shrugged. "It's no problem. Ah didn't mind".

It was quiet between the two. Rainbow yawned.

"What time is it?".

Applejack looked around. She saw her phone charging nearby.

"Go check mah phone", she told Rainbow.

Rainbow got out of the bed and walked across the room, over to where Applejack's phone was charging. Kneeling down she picked up the phone and turned it on.

8:56am.

Rainbow's eyes widened.

"Oh no", she said. "It's 8:56am. I overslept".

Rainbow put the phone down and stood up.

"I gotta go brush my teeth and get started right away", she said.

Applejack got out of bed. Rainbow quickly gathered some clothes and ran out to get dressed.

Applejack sighed. She decided she should wake the others.

Turning back to the bed, she walked over to it. Climbing on, Applejack started to wake the others. The girls were not very happy about being woken up that early in the morning. But once Applejack explained that they needed to help Rainbow Dash finish cleaning before her dad got home, they immediately got out of bed and they teleported to their houses to quickly get dressed, Applejack doing the same.

Once they were all back at Rainbow's house, dressed and freshened up, they went looking for Rainbow.

The teens roamed the halls, searching for their friend.

"Rainbow??".

"In here!!", they heard from down the large hall.

The girls walked down the hall, making a right. They came out to a large staircase. They teens looked around.

"Over here".

They turned and saw Rainbow Dash on the stairs, sweeping.

"You guys ready to clean??", she asked, grinning. "If you are then you'd better hurry up. We have to hurry if we wanna clean this place up.

"Me and Fluttershy will go around the house and dust and sweep", Rarity spoke up.

Fluttershy agreed. The two got their brooms and dust pans and other equipment.

"Thanks", Rainbow said.

"No problem at all, Dear", Rarity said.

Rarity and Fluttershy walked out of the main hall, leaving only Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Twilight.

"Well??", Rainbow said, getting the girls' attention.

"C'mon. We literally have today to get this all done".

Applejack smiled.

"Ah think I have a way ta make this go faster and more fun", she said.

The girls looked around the at the floor.

"You were right"  Pinkie said, smiling.
"Playing music while cleaning did make it go faster".

Applejack looked over at Rainbow Dash.

"So. What's next, cutie??".

Rainbow took out the list of chores from her pocket, trying to hide the redness on her cheeks. Looking at the paper, she read down the list.

"Next is............"

She clicked her tongue.

"The basement".

Rainbow grinned. Then her face turned to horror just as quickly.

"Oh no", she said quietly.

Applejack, Pinkie and Twilight frowned at her tone of voice. A hint of fear was heard.

"What's wrong??", Twilight asked.

Rainbow looked at the paper again. It was the last thing on the list. It had to be done now or never.

Rainbow gulped nervously. She looked up at her friends, who all were looking at her waiting for an answer.

"Let's just say the basement is my least favorite place in the house".

Rainbow turned around. She motioned for the three to follow her.

"Follow me guys. Take the cleaning stuff with you".

The girls headed to the other side of the house. Rainbow led them to a wooden door. When Rainbow got to the door, she stopped. She stood there frozen for a moment.

Applejack could only guess that whatever was in the basement was not good.

"Rainbow??".

She slowly walked up behind Rainbow, careful not scare Rainbow. She stood beside Rainbow Dash, watching her shake. Rainbow's hand was on the doorknob.

Applejack looked up at Rainbow's face. The teen was biting her lip, as if trying to decide whether or not to go down there.

"We're right here, Rainbow", Applejack said. "Right here. You're not goin by yirself".

Applejack stared at her. Rainbow continued to stare at the doorknob in her grasp. Applejack was starting to wonder if Rainbow had registered what she said at all.

Rainbow Dash suddenly nodded slowly.

"Alright. Now or never", she said.

The girls weren't sure if she was talking to them or to herself.

Rainbow took a deep breath and let it out shakily.

"Guys??", she said, looking back at the others.

"Just remember. This house is my personal hell. And whatever is in this room, is the reason I have these lashes on my back. Remember the ones I saw at the skating rink a few days ago?".

Applejack, Pinkie, and Twilight silently nodded.

"Well", Rainbow said. "This is where it happens. Just prepared. It's a little messy in there".

Rainbow looked back at the knob. She took another deep breath and released it.

She turned the doorknob, the door sliding open smoothly and soundlessly. The stairwell was dark. Rainbow looked back at the others.

"Let's go so we can hurry and clean up as best we can", She said quietly.

The girls nodded. The four headed down the steps, Rainbow leading them. This was the last place she wanted to be.
